Guidelines for TCR related articles
[edit]Greetings to all, This is an extensive list of guidelines that we - members of WikiProject TCR Series - need to follow in order to improve the user experience of TCR related articles:
All series related articles should be redirected to TCR Touring Car and the section to which the series has an exposition. Previously all series links were redirected to the TCR International Series which will undertake major redesign so the information will be relevant to the series only and everything else will be moved to the much broader regulation article. If the series already has dedicated article, the links must be to the said article. Creation of dedicated articles can only happen if there is enough history of the series - since TCR statred in 2015 the following series are eligible for creating their dedicated articles:
- TCR Asia Series
- ADAC TCR Germany Touring Car Championship
- TCR Benelux Touring Car Championship
Regarding tables - recently edits on calendar tables were made by @Falcadore simplifying the tables. The reasons for the edits were "Table size is excessively blank if racing is still 6 months distant. Use smaller table until racing begins" which are valid since some websites (even the official series websites) don't show when Race 1 and 2 will be held and instead show the selected dates (e.g. 14–15 May). Thus the proposal is to follow the format set by Falcadore and edit it when further information is availlable.

Flagicons
[edit]This section is regarding the use of flagicons in TCR Series article. The following guidelines should be followed for drivers and results list:
- If all drivers are from the same nation or race under the same racing license, flagicons are not required and we'll use this line: "All teams and drivers are X registered"
- If there is a single foreign driver, while the rest are from the main nation (i.e. a single driver from Belarus competing in the Russian Circuit Racing Series while the rest of the entries are Russian-registered), flagicons will not be used, instead we'll put a note above the entry table that "All drivers are X registered, excepting Y driver Z"
- If there are 2 or more foreign drivers, then flagicons need to be placed in the table.
The reason why I'm putting these guidelines is that in the 2018 TCR Korea Touring Car Series article almost all drivers were from South Korea, with the exception of Peter Terting (who is German), but he was ineligible to score points anyway, so the race result table was made up of entirely South Korean drivers.

TCR Korea gone, TCR Thailand too?
[edit]As the headline suggests, i have only seen one announcement from TCR Korea and that was the calendar several months ago, then i saw a post on their official facebook account, saying they were not going ahead with the 2019 season, but it was a bad translation by Google, so i dont know if its correct. I have seen nothing about TCR Thailand, are they also gone or am i just looking in the wrong places for information?
Whats your thoughts @Ivaneurope, @Link7344, @Poppo154, @NotJohnHindhaugh? CGM 20 (talk) 08:41, 12 April 2019 (UTC)
- From what I can see the TCR Korea website is down and the TCR Asia website now list Zuhai as the second round originally intended for Korea. As for Thailand - the TCR Hub doesn't list it either. Same thing with TCR Baltic, while TCR Portugal is also gone as far as I can tell (maybe it'll be replaced by TCR Iberico). Ivaneurope (talk) 09:47, 12 April 2019 (UTC)
- Good spot with TCR Asia, hadn't seen that.
TCR Baltic have never had a lot of info on the TCR Hub, so im not sure, if its stil exists.
Regarding TCR Portugal, i would assume its been replaced by TCR Iberico, but some confirmation would be nice.
Im also unsure if 2019 TCR Korea Touring Car Series, should be deleted or if we should keep it until further information becomes available? CGM 20 (talk) 11:56, 12 April 2019 (UTC)
- Good spot with TCR Asia, hadn't seen that.
- So far there is no official confirmation on the status of TCR Korea. If some news regarding the series pop up in either TCR Hub, TouringCars.Net or TouringCarTimes, it will be taken action.
Usually when season articles are created, it is better to have multiple sources and at least some confirmed entries.
Also there's the issue with the 2019 TCR UK Touring Car Championship and 2019 Touring Car Trophy now that both will be merged. Ivaneurope (talk) 12:57, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

- Yeah the whole situation with TCR UK and TCT is a bit complicated and at present i dont feel there is enough information about what the overall series name will be, amongst other things. So im not sure which page should remain. CGM 20 (talk) 08:03, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
Defunct, canceled and postponed series
[edit]In light with recent changes surrounding the TCR series as a whole, there are several things that need to be pointed out:
- The status of the 2019 TCR Korea Touring Car Series is currently unknown even though the calendar was announced months ago – the series' website is down, the series is not listed in the TCR Hub and the TCR Asia Series home page lists Zhuhai International Circuit in China as the second round of the 2019 season (though the even pages lists Korea International Circuit as the host of the second round of the championship).
- Similar issues are with the TCR Thailand Touring Car Championship – the series isn't listed on the TCR Hub. The Thailand Super Series, which runs the TCR Thailand championship, has its website running and their season started, but as far as I can read only the GT championships have been run, but no touring car events. It's safe to assume that TCR Thailand is not returning in 2019.
- TCR Portugal is in somewhat tricky situation - the Campeonato Open de Velocidade de Portugal (translated roughly as Portuguese Circuit Open Championship) has both GT and TCR cars and some of the events are part of the TCR Iberico calendar.
- TCR Hill Climb Series and TCR Swiss Trophy are postponed to 2020 by Auto Sport Switzerland, which renders the recently created 2019 TCR Hill Climb Touring Car Series as useless.
I need your oppinions @CGM 20, @Link7344, @Poppo154, @NotJohnHindhaugh Ivaneurope (talk) 08:16, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
- I think its safe to assume that TCR Thailand is gone, now that the TSS season has started, without any word about TCR Thailand.
TCR Korea is more tricky, as i previously stated, their official Facebook page said something about the series being cancelled for 2019. But since the Bing translation was very poor, i could not be sure. But since that page has now been closed as well, we have no official confirmation. But im fairly sure its gone at least for 2019.
About TCR Portugal, im not sure if the Open championship is TCR certified? If not, then the official TCR Portugal is gone too.
With the confirmation that the 2019 TCR Hill Climb Series is postponed to 2020, i think we should delete the article about it, as there is no use for it anymore.
These are my thoughts @Ivaneurope. CGM 20 (talk) 09:11, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
