my observation
[edit]Hey @Onceinawhile I just found out about this essay, thank you for the effort :)
I was wondering if you noticed what I was documenting more recently in WT:D. I've also observed these kinds of changes in traffic patterns before and after us changing navigation, and it's not entirely straightforward to explain all of it. In some cases, there can be a base title advantage, but the search engines also work around it, because they are largely moderating our incoming traffic.
Also, on a more general note, the advantage isn't inherently bad - if we have a topic with a distinct advantage in long-term significance, we may want to get more people to read it. --Joy (talk) 10:40, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
