{{Erebidae-stub}}: Family erebidae is a fairly recently defined moth family, taking some of the subfamilies that used to be classified as noctuidae. This would already be a parent category to existing stub categories (like Category:Catocalinae stubs, and Category:Herminiinae stubs), along with housing other articles that fit in this family. This new category will help pull articles away from two oversized categories: Category:Moth stubs and Category:Noctuidae stubs. Dawynn (talk) 11:09, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

- Found out that the Lepidoptera project is using the LepIndex as its primary resource -- a resource which does not recognize family Erebidae. At this time, I will not be building this template / category. Dawynn (talk) 16:54, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

This is in desperate need of splitting. I'm gradually working on sorting both this stub category and the main category (Category:Noctuidae). Both have over 4000 articles.
For now, splitting these by subfamilies:
- {{Acontiinae-stub}} / Category:Acontiinae stubs. For Category:Acontiinae / Acontiinae. Cat Scan indicates 105 articles for now.
- {{Amphipyrinae-stub}} / Category:Amphipyrinae stubs. For Category:Amphipyrinae / Amphipyrinae. Cat Scan indicates 115 articles for now.
- {{Cuculliinae-stub}} / Category:Cuculliinae stubs. For Category:Cuculliinae / Cuculliinae. Cat Scan indicates 113 articles for now.
- {{Calpinae-stub}} / Category:Calpinae stubs. For Category:Calpinae / Calpinae. Cat Scan indicates 53 articles for now. I'll work on sorting these in the main category. I would think we could hit 60 pretty easily.
- {{Pantheinae-stub}} / Category:Pantheinae stubs. For Category:Pantheinae / Pantheinae. Cat Scan indicates 43 articles for now. Again, once I can sort the main category, this could easily see 60 also. Will build as upmerged template only, if I cannot boost the article count.

Able to pull a couple categories out of here:
- {{Chalcidoidea-stub}} / Category:Chalcidoidea stubs. Main article: Chalcid wasp. Main category: Category:Chalcidoidea. Cat scan suggests 85 articles. This will also be a parent category for Category:Eulophidae stubs.
- {{Potter-wasp-stub}} / Category:Potter wasp stubs. Main article: Potter wasp. Main category: Category:Potter wasps. Cat scan suggests 135 articles.
- {{Vespidae-stub}} / Category:Vespidae stub. Main article: Vespidae. Main category: Category:Vespidae. This will be a parent category for Category:Potter wasp stubs, along with picking up a few other articles.

These are in need of a good paring down, I think; right now the category contains 805 stubs. I think perhaps a breakdown by county might be in order? Thus the following:
- {{Harju-geo-stub}}/Category:Harju County geography stubs
- {{Hiiu-geo-stub}}/Category:Hiiu County geography stubs
- {{IdaViru-geo-stub}}/Category:Ida-Viru County geography stubs
- {{Järva-geo-stub}}/Category:Järva County geography stubs
- {{Jõgeva-geo-stub}}/Category:Jõgeva County geography stubs
- {{Lääne-geo-stub}}/Category:Lääne County geography stubs
- {{LääneViru-geo-stub}}/Category:Lääne-Viru County geography stubs
- {{Pärnu-geo-stub}}/Category:Pärnu County geography stubs
- {{Põlva-geo-stub}}/Category:Põlva County geography stubs
- {{Rapla-geo-stub}}/Category:Rapla County geography stubs
- {{Saare-geo-stub}}/Category:Saare County geography stubs
- {{Tartu-geo-stub}}/Category:Tartu County geography stubs
- {{Valga-geo-stub}}/Category:Valga County geography stubs
- {{Viljandi-geo-stub}}/Category:Viljandi County geography stubs
- {{Võru-geo-stub}}/Category:Võru County geography stubs
Categories to follow as they become viable; Harju should be already, I think. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:49, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Surprised we didn't have one of these already - at the very least, a stub tag would be useful. Category may follow, but not for a bit. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 18:26, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- I thought these were already approved. It should be fine though as an S2 speedy, same with all other European countries that don't have a tag made. Just leave it upmerged until it gets large enough for a category. Borgarde (talk) 07:24, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Looking for a speedy approval on these. Not sure how many will be able to become categories, but the national group is oversized. Looking to break this down by state. {{Montana-protected-area-stub}} and {{Florida-protected-area-stub}} already exist, with their own categories. {{Minnesota-protected-area-stub}} and {{Kansas-protected-area-stub}} also already exist. Asking for templates for the remaining 50 states:
- {{Alabama-protected-area-stub}}
- {{Alaska-protected-area-stub}}
- {{Arizona-protected-area-stub}}
- {{Arkansas-protected-area-stub}}
- {{California-protected-area-stub}}
- {{Colorado-protected-area-stub}}

- {{Delaware-protected-area-stub}}
- {{Georgia-protected-area-stub}}

In a similar vein to what has been done with Category:United States geography stubs, I'd like the following general area categories:
- Category:Midwestern United States protected area stubs
- Category:Northeastern United States protected area stubs
- Category:Southern United States protected area stubs
- Category:Western United States protected area stubs
These would all be categories without their own distinct templates. The appropriate individual state stubs would upmerge here, until categories could be built. Much of the format would follow what has been done with the similar geography stubs.
The state templates would then be double-upmerged to the general area categories, as well as the appropriate state geography category (see Category:United States geography stubs). References to the individual state templates would be placed on the national protected area category, much like has been done with the geography stubs. Dawynn (talk) 13:08, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Looking to break down the large Hymenoptera group.
- {{bombus-stub}} / Category:Bumblebee stubs. I would like a separate category specifically for bumblebees. I count 63 articles for this one genus under the Hymenoptera stubs. This will be placed under the Category:Bee stubs. Main category Category:Bumblebees
- {{wasp-stub}} / Category:Wasp stubs. This will be for the wasps. Main category: Category:Wasps.
