The operas of the month for August range from the 18th to 20th century. All of the following need synopses:
- Rameau's Les Paladins 1760 (also needs a performance history)
- Donizetti's Torquato Tasso 1833 and Gemma di Vergy 1834
- Erkel's György Brankovics 1874 (also needs a performance history)
- Martinů's What Men Live By 1953
- Barber's Antony and Cleopatra 1966
