It is the very basic of Muslim faith. Why they have divided it into Sunni/Shia? Even many attributes of Allah consider by Sunni as well as Shia are written ONLY under Shia. Even Quranic Ayats are divided into sects. Can someone look at it and try to get common thing out from Sect sections, so that the sizes of shia/sunni sections could be reduced ? --- Faisal 03:02, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Islam and flat-earth theories reads:
The scholars who held to the round earth theory used it in an impeccably Islamic manner, to calculate the shortest distance between any given point on the earth and Mecca. This determined the qibla, or Muslim direction of prayer. Muslim mathematicians developed spherical trigonometry in order to make these calculations [3].
But that is not reflected in spherical trigonometry. If it is a Muslim that invented it, or they reinveted it, it should be stated in the article, however, im not well versed in that field and dont feel confident in making claims.

I dont see why the topic was Archived, specialy since i sayd "I have lots to say about this, but dont have time right now. Ill tag it for speedie, As a gesture of good faith. Expect me to return to this issue later."
I only agreed to speede it, since not doing so would result in me giving the impresion of not acting in good faith, and that my other sugestion was a meere diversion.
Either was the objection that the titled was POV, wich i answered and did not get a rebutle, or the objection was that it was un-encyclopedic.
It could not have been that it was malplaced, since the correct sugestion would have been to merge it with some other article.
So, could i please be informed on why the article was un-encyclopedic, so i can be educated about that and not do the same misstake in the future?

- Recall the types of created beings. People, angels, jinn, but not qareen. Actually, the qareen is a type of jinn. You may use google.com to learn more about them. From the link: "The Qareen is the Jinn companion which is assigned to every human being. It is this Jinn which whispers to our base desires and constantly tries to divert us from righteousness. The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: "Everyone of you has been assigned a companion from the Jinn. The companions asked: Even you O' Messenger of Allah? And the Prophet replied: Even me, except that Allah has helped me against him and he has submitted. Now he only tells me to do good" (Sahih Muslim)--Juan Muslim 02:42, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

- Should'nt we have a Historical Islam-West relations article? Here is a quote we can use in it:
- "If there is much misunderstanding in the West about the nature of Islam, there is also much ignorance about the debt our own culture and civilisation owe to the Islamic world. It is a failure, which stems, I think, from the straight-jacket of history, which we have inherited. The medieval Islamic world, from central Asia to the shores of the Atlantic, was a world where scholars and men of learning flourished. But because we have tended to see Islam as the enemy of the West, as an alien culture, society, and system of belief, we have tended to ignore or erase its great relevance to our own history." ,Prince Charles, lecture at Oxford University.'

Mosque is an English word for the Arabic Word Masjid. Masjid means the place to perform Sajda. Sajda is bowing towards the Qibla (Al-Ka'aba, in Makkah (Saudi Arabia)) so that the forhead and nose touches the ground.
Mosque is a place where muslims (usually men) perform religious activities. Following are the main religious activities:
1. Offering prayers (Namaz)
2. Zikr ( Reminding/Remembering Allah )
3. Learning ( Gaining Knowledge )

Merge or not
[edit]Militant Islam , Islamism , Islamist terrorism . Seem to be a lot similar to me . Farhansher 21:23, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
- It seems like the three topics are related. However Islamism and Islamist terrorism seem to deal with two different topics, the former about "ultra-conservate" Islam and the latter about violent Islam. The Militant Islam article seems to be an overlap of the other two. Therefore, I think the information from the Militant Islam article should be split among the other two and the article redirected to the Islamism article. joturner 22:02, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
- NOT
- Islamism is a subject I agree with. However there are some bad apples using the same policies, such as Islamist terrorism and Militant Islam. They should not be merge into one. Islamism is a method that can be achieved without violence.--Ibrahim Noor 06:22, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

The article actually states that Islam is anti-semitic because the Qur'an calls Abraham a Muslim and not a Jew. The article is nothing but a series of indictments against Islam using the personal opinions of the editors. Islamic terrorism There is currently a discussion going on as to whether the Islamic terrorist section I added to Islam here[9] belongs in the article or not, or indeed whether any mention of Islamic terrorism should be made. Your thoughts and input would be appreciated here. Dev920 18:04, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
