In February of 2018 Editor Mathglot (talk · contribs · count · logs) received the Eddy Award for Civility and Helpfulness. It takes a concerted effort to remain calm and focused in discussions with editors that have article concerns; they feel they have been wronged and deserve their "Day in Court". Mathglot always maintains a constantly positive and congenial conversation while educating the usually new editor and, at the same time, giving attention to their concerns. One can only guess at the number of editors that have been retained by his ability to create a friendly, forwarding dialogue (over his 85000 edits). Also, he is one of the veteran Wikipedians who program conditional templates. Buster Seven Talk (UTC) 14:12, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

+1 They were instrumental in the rewrite of Help:Your first article. Very deserving! HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 15:49, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I nominate Cukie Gherkin (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week for their incredible contributions to our coverage of video game characters. With over 17,500 edits (45% to mainspace) they have created so many articles and nominated so many GAs that I have given up on counting. Many of these articles are on well-known characters or games, getting decent numbers of pageviews. Our coverage on video games and their characters would be noticeably lacking without Cukie's diligence. A busy member of WikiProject Video games and WikiProject Anime and manga. Over the last few months, I've seen GreenLipstickLesbian (talk · contribs · count · logs) handing out sage advice related to copyright on Wikipedia both on-wiki and over Wikimedia Discord serversthis post being but one example of it. I commend her commitment to and patience in sharing with her fellow editors a glimpse into a process that, while relatively foreign to most editors and thus perpetually understaffed, is vital in helping keep this project alive. She also walks the talk: she has reviewed nearly a thousand cases over on CopyPatrol and puts in her fair share of time at contributor copyright investigations. She's no stranger to content work either: she's nominated three DYKs and ostensibly has more evil plans in the making! ;) And while I may be biased in this regard as a coordinator, I loved the recap she wrote for the recently-concluded 2024 Developing Countries WikiContest, which was adapted shortly after into this Signpost article. I hope you'll join me in appreciating the hard work — which often goes unappreciated — that this editor does. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 17:25, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
