[edit]00:34:14, 1 August 2016 review of submission by Kbmnj

dear wikipedia friends,
i dont understand how to use this codification processs.. what i wish to stipulate, i that celestialproductionsinc, does not have org attached to it. IT IS ONE OF THE COMPANIES I OWN. Kbmnj (talk)`KBMNJKbmnj (talk) 00:34, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
- It isn't clear what you are asking. You submitted a completely blank draft in your sandbox, and it was declined because it was blank. However, you refer to a company that you say that you own. That is a conflict of interest, and you need to declare the conflict of interest if you wish to submit a draft about the company for review. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:44, 1 August 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Robert. I removed the citations you mentioned. Haven't heard anything back from you. Regards. Mattyh10 (talk) 02:48, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
- You added multiple references to IMDB, but IMDB is not considered a reliable source. Add independent reliable sources. Robert McClenon (talk) 13:05, 1 August 2016 (UTC)

I submitted a draft of an article on G. Parthasarathy after making the suggested edits by kind reviewers who took the time to advise me. However, I have not heard back after my last edit at the end of June. Could someone please let me know the status of the article? Not sure what I need to do next. I would really like this article to be accepted as it is on a noteworthy subject and I have put a lot of time and effort into it.
Thank you. Shyamw1 (talk) 12:15, 1 August 2016 (UTC)Shyamw1
- The draft is Draft:Gopalaswami Parthasarathy. You haven't submitted it for review. I will also comment that, although you made the correction that I requested, it still contains non-neutral language. Robert McClenon (talk) 13:08, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) @Shyamw1: Welcome to the Help Desk. The draft hasn't actually been submitted for review. In the future, to do so, simply edit the article and add {{subst:submit}} (including the braces) to the top of the page. (This time, I have taken the liberty of submitting the draft for review for you.) There is a backlog in the Articles for Creation process so it may be a while before a reviewer is able to assess the article. While you wait for a review, I would suggest tightening the language further—text like "G.P. had the skills to deal with international and domestic problems", "He undertook several difficult political assignments", "based on his sound judgment", "G.P undoubtedly laid the foundations to a friendly compromise" and the like come across as hagiographic and peacock language. On Wikipedia, we are looking for text to be written in a neutral, encyclopedic tone. This means we must all try to avoid text that promotes people or that makes subjective value judgments about a person's achievements or personal qualities.
- As an example, it would be acceptable to say "According to The New York Times, John Doe played a key role in the negotiation." However, it wouldn't be okay to say "John Doe was a masterful negotiator, leveraging superior dispute resolution skills to find creative solutions to international law issues". Do you see the difference? There is certainly an art to writing encyclopedically, but I would suggest starting by skimming WP:NPOV and then removing the the promotional adjectives and subjective comments about GP. That should put you on the right track tone-wise. Thanks, /wiae /tlk 13:17, 1 August 2016 (UTC)

Thanks - I will work on the language and submit as per your instructions. Shyamw1 (talk) 17:32, 1 August 2016 (UTC)Shyamw1

- That is a blank submission. Maybe you accidentally submitted it before entering content. However, the reviewer comment states clearly that it is a blank submission. What is your question? Robert McClenon (talk) 02:06, 2 August 2016 (UTC)

Liat621 (talk) 16:54, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
I accidentally submitted my sandbox article for review, when the article actually already exists. How do I withdraw my submission??
Liat621 (talk) 16:54, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Liat621: You may withdraw a submission by deleting the line (at the bottom, in the case of Draft:Cao Fei)
{{AFC submission|||ts=20160801163931|u=Liat621|ns=2}}
- If the draft no longer serves any purpose, you could instead request speedy deletion by adding
{{db-g7}}
to the top of the draft. - --Worldbruce (talk) 19:41, 1 August 2016 (UTC)

[edit]I have attempted multiple times to create this page and I am having issues with referencing. I feel that with proper referencing, the page will be a quality addition to Wikipedia. I was wondering if there was a way to submit the page to someone more experienced than myself who could refine it.

- The Teahouse is a good place to ask for an experienced editor to help you, if the real issue is only that you need referencing assistance (and referencing is one of the most difficult parts of Wikipedia). Robert McClenon (talk) 02:13, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
