Scope and goals
[edit]Mission statement
[edit]The goal of the Studio Ghibli task force is to organize, clean, and improve Studio Ghibli-related articles information within a format that fits Wikipedia's fictional procedures to, ultimately, the level of quality stressed in the Featured Article and Featured List guidelines.
Scope
[edit]This task force covers the following items:
- Anyone affiliated with Studio Ghibli, including the musicians, characters and crews of every Studio Ghibli film.
- Anything located within a Studio Ghibli or Studio Ghibli-affiliated category, sub-category, list, article, stub, or template.
Goals
[edit]- Improve all 23 Studio Ghibli feature films and 11 short films, as well as Studio Ghibli, to Featured Article status, or at the very least Good Article status.
- Nominate the Studio Ghibli feature films and/or Studio Ghibli as Featured Topics, or at the very least Good Topics.
- Improve the Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, Joe Hisaishi, Hiromasa Yonebayashi and Toshio Suzuki (producer) articles to Featured Article status, or at the very least Good Article status.
Explanatory supplements
[edit]This is an explanatory essay about the Wikipedia:Manual of Style guidelines. This page provides additional information about concepts in the page(s) it supplements. This page is not one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. |
All film and anime-related articles follow the guidelines established at both MOS:FILM and MOS:ANIME. There are further guidance for certain aspects of articles created through local consensus.
Cast lists
[edit]Ghibli films generally follow the guidance as defined by WP:FILMCAST for cast definition and order. The following steps are used as presented by this guideline:
- As casting announcements begin, actors indicated to be (or possibly be) in starring roles are added to the cast section, infobox, and lead as the news is released. The order should generally be based on when actors are revealed, but sequels may use the cast order on past films as a guide. Any additional news regarding supporting roles or actors in unspecified roles are added to a paragraph below the bulleted list in the cast section and are excluded from the infobox and lead.
- Once any official billings or press releases by Ghibli are released, such as a billing block seen at the bottom of a poster or the end of a trailer, cast members are reordered per that billing. An example of a billing block can be seen here. Note that this order should come from Marvel directly, as some news outlets that report on the film may create an arbitrary ordering in their article(s).
- Repeat step 1 if additional castings are revealed after an official billing or press release, and then reorder when a new press release/billing is released per step 2.
As always, each film is its own unique case and these steps are meant to be followed as a general overview of the process. In some instances, additional local consensus may need to be formed due to their exceptionally long cast lists.
