Correct abbreviation for "United States"

[edit]

For Wikipedia purposes, what is the correct abbreviation: U. S. Marine Corps or U.S. Marine Corps? Is there (or is there not) a blank space between the "U." and the "S."? Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 21:05, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I note that in the article, all occurrences of "U.S." lack a space. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots22:51, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

For Wikipedia purposes, see MOS:ABBR#Countries and multinational unions, which specifies "U.S." unless "US" is used. --76.69.47.228 (talk) 00:21, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
