[edit]Help converting a Help file
[edit]I have a copy of the computer game Renegade: the Battle for Jacob's Star & I want to read the manual/ help file but when I try to open it I get a "Error opening Help in Windows-based programs: "Feature not included" or "Help not supported". Is there any way of converting it or anything ?62.253.143.3 (talk) 09:34, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
- The help files were compiled for ancient versions of Windows, something like Win 3.1, and anything after XP can't cope. M$'s own Error opening Help in Windows-based programs: "Feature not included" or "Help not supported" might assist with Vista though Win 8.1. If you're on Win 10, there may be some answers in this rant-filled thread. MinorProphet (talk) 17:38, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
- The Windows Help file format is just a tweaked form of the Rich Text Format (RTF). There are tools listed on that page that can convert WinHelp files into other formats.--47.155.96.47 (talk) 22:03, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

- Yes same message for me in the UK, however using a VPN connected to a US server, the site loads normally. -- AxG / ✉ 12:57, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
