Articles to create or draft
[edit]We have suggested some biographies of Women in archaeology to create or draft that are likely to pass Wikipedia:Notability, some of these starting suggestions are taken from TrowelBlazers.com[1] others from suggestions from colleagues in the department. You can also find a list of women in Classics whose profiles can be further edited at WikiProject Women's Classical Committee or in the List of women classicists. If you are logged in, you can create the article by clicking on the red link below:

Writing biographies
[edit]When writing biographies of people, stick to verifiable facts (see Wikipedia:Verifiability) and avoid opinions. A typical biography might include the following sections
- A lead paragraph (or lede) summarising the subject
- Education and early life - a section summarising their education and early life, for example birthplace, high school and university etc
- Research and Career - what research are they known for? What have they done during their career?
- An openly licensed portrait of the subject or their work if you can upload one (see w.wiki/V5a) or find one already published by searching commons.wikimedia.org
- Publications - list some key publications and citations that support the statements of fact you have made
Women in Red
[edit]
The Women in Red project womeninred.org maintain lists of biographies of notable women that do not have biographies on Wikipedia yet, for example:
- Women archaeologists Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Archaeologists
- Women classicists Wikipedia:WikiProject Women's Classical Committee/Wikidata redlist
- Women Egyptologists, Sinologists, Indologists and Orientalists (ESIO) Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Missing articles by occupation/ESIO
Please give us feedback
[edit]This is the second session that we've run, please give us feedback afterwards on how we can improve (alongside what went well). Details from our previous event can be found at Wikipedia:Meetup/Raising_Representation
