Wikipedia:Interface administrators' noticeboard
This is the interface administrator noticeboard, for discussion of interface administrators and coordination of edits to the interface.
Currently only interface administrators can undelete JS/CSS pages, if you have an uncontroversial undelete or deleted version retrieval request, please list it below.
Any administrator can delete JS/CSS/JSON pages, for speedy deletions just use a CSD template on the page or its talk page.
Individual requests for edits to interface or user JavaScript/CSS pages should continue to be made on their respective talk pages.

Edit request
Hi all, would someone be able to <nowiki>...</nowiki>
User:Michael.C.Wright/common.js? It is currently populating some subcategories. Michael.C.Wright (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is currently blocked (ping for courtesy), so they cannot do it themselves. Thanks, HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 23:52, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
Inactive interface administrators 2025-01-28
The following interface administrator(s) are inactive:
- MusikAnimal (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA)
— JJMC89 bot 23:19, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- I need to retain these rights under policy as the operator of MusikBot II, but I've made an edit anyway to keep the bot happy. — MusikAnimal talk 07:16, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note, yes seems fine esp as your bot is active. Anyone know if there is a feature request open that is blocking letting that gadget use the json directly? — xaosflux Talk 10:39, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- (Which would also need to incorporate input validations that the bot handles) — xaosflux Talk 10:40, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- The feature request that would support using that JSON directly is AFAIK implemented since A While Ago, it just requires some work on the gadget. Izno (talk) 18:09, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- (I assume this is about GeonoticeSync.) Izno (talk) 18:10, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yea, that's really all that bot has to do (although it also does does input validation, which I supposed could also be built in to lua when processing the linked json). — xaosflux Talk 19:29, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

Script adoption for WP:DisamAssist
I would like some feedback from interface administrators on the idea behind User talk:Qwertyytrewqqwerty/DisamAssist#2025 DisamAssist fork and maintenance. tl;dr: There is a widely used user script (per WP:USL installed by ≈400 active users) that is hosted in Spanish Wikipedia (apart from config hosted in English WP). It is currently unmaintained because the author is inactive for 7 years. I am offering to maintain it, fix any bugs, and maybe introduce new features. To do so, the code needs to be changed to use the new version from Russian Wikipedia. I am an interface admin there and I actively use the script.
As for technical implementation, whatever is decided to be best is fine for me. My idea would be moving it to my userspace with a redirect so I can edit config but I also can understand if some people might be uneasy with that, so moving it to MediaWiki namespace is fine as well. stjn 23:48, 1 February 2025 (UTC)

Interface administrator question
Hello, I was wondering if you are able to make changes to the sidebar in mobile view. For example, if I get consensus to make a particular change to the mobile view sidebar, are you the ones that implement it? Interstellarity (talk) 16:53, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Mostly, no. We can retarget something like "Community Portal" to a different page, but we can't really add/remove buttons there (well maybe with some hack client-side javascript, but that's probably a bad idea). What sort of change are you thinking about? — xaosflux Talk 17:00, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- I was thinking about adding things like the Contents page for navigation and the Contact us page so that people don’t have to go into desktop view to view it. I also think adding a help and learn to edit button will also enhance navigation. Interstellarity (talk) 17:05, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- This should probably start with a feature request, such as "Allow the mobile sidebar to be customized" using the desktop sidebar customizer at MediaWiki:Sidebar as an example. — xaosflux Talk 17:41, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Where would be the best place to post this kind of thing? My first thought was Wikipedia:VPT, but wanted to get your opinion on where I can put in feature requests. Interstellarity (talk) 18:50, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- On phab (see here) - that would be a software change and would affect all projects, not just English Wikipedia. I'd expect the default value for it to be what is already there, so it would be seamless; but once built it could allow localization. The request could also point back alternatives, such as the devs saying we should just do client-side scripting. — xaosflux Talk 19:10, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
