It has already been removed and the IP that was adding it has been blocked. Sometimes this stuff gets rev/deleted but that is up to any admins that looks at the edits in question. MarnetteD|Talk 03:57, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Queryzo: One page (the director), seems to refer to the person as male, the other as female. In a very quick look at the filmographies I could not see any 'overlap'. Admittedly the IMDb link goes to the same page for both but this could just be mistake by whoever added it to the Wiki page. Queryzo and Eagleash, I've deleted it as a copyvio. It was copied from the other Wikipedia article without attributing its source, and as attribution is mandated by our license, failure to comply makes it a copyright infringement. Nyttend (talk) 03:11, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have created the Matyu Elliott article and have added references, How do I know if this is sufficient for Wikipedia to acknowledge it's not a fake article? Also, how do I add a picture? I have tried a few times, but it seems to not want to accept any photos at the moment.

I have wikilinked the article name in the query title for the convenience of others.
Although you have provided some references, you have not configured them in the required manner. Please read Wikipedia: Referencing for beginners and convert them (and further references, see below) to inline citations. You might also profitably read Wikipedia:My first article if you haven't already done so.
Of the existing 6 references, only #4 is, in my opinion, potentially suitable to demonstrate the notability of the subject: the others merely show that a book has been written by him, an amateur film produced by him, and that he has appeared as an actor in a (different) amateur film. #6 is apparently his own blog, which is not a Reliable Source in Wikipedia terms: you need several more references like #4 where third party Reliable Sources have written at length about him. These need to demonstrate the subject's notability, not that of his works, which is a different thing.
The tone of the article is overly subjective, and contains material not supported by the existing reference(s). I suspect this is because you are personally associated with the subject (if not actually him) in which case you have a conflict of interest and need to read Wikipedia:COI. This would need to be addressed if more suitable references can be found – however, if they can't the article will have to be deleted, so they are your first priority.
Provision of a suitable and acceptable photograph should be possible (since you can presumably take one of him), but the procedure to upload this to Wikipedia Commons with a suitable copyright release and then link it to the article is rather complicated, and not worth addressing before the continued existence of the article is assured. Hello!

My client Brian Gardner would like to edit the wording on his Wikipedia page. I'm not quite sure how to go about this, so I was hoping that you can guide me through the process.

Article: Brian_Gardner

He would like to reword this paragraph:

He was last employed at Bernie Grundman Mastering, a mastering house founded and run by Bernie Grundman, and is now retired.

Gardner has been awarded seven Grammy nominations six of which were for Album Of The Year and one Grammy win for Album of the Year (SpeakerBoxxx - Outkast).[4]


TO SAY:

Gardner has been awarded NINE Grammy nominations EiGHT of which were for Album Of The Year and one Grammy win for Album of the Year (SpeakerBoxxx - Outkast).[4]


It seems like a very easy fix, but don't know where to begin.

Use of units

LordVoldebold (talk · contribs) is changing units in articles from US units to metrics or imposing conversion with metric units first. I would like to know what is the policy about units considering the choice of the original editors of article and the large US readership?

WP:UNITS says: Quantities are typically expressed using an appropriate "primary unit", displayed first, followed, when appropriate, by a conversion in parentheses ... In non-scientific articles relating to the United States, the primary units are US customary ... In non-scientific articles relating to the United Kingdom, the primary units for most quantities are metric or other internationally used units [going on to list several exceptions] ... In all other articles, the primary units chosen will be SI units, non-SI units officially accepted for use with the SI, or such other units as are conventional in reliable-source discussions of the article topic...
So, Pierre cb, LordVoldebold, the units used by the "original editors" are not what matters, what matters are the units appropriate to the topic and the quantity. Those should be the primary units, and in many but not all cases a secondary unit should be shown in parens, often this is done via {{convert}}.
