[edit]Alan Turing
[edit]In the write up for Alan Turing, there's a sentence that reads along the lines that "he died eating wet biscuits sitting on the toilet while drinking wet tea". Not sure if that's a cryptic text given his background but find it odd that such a statement which is inaccurate would be placed on there. Just making notification for the integrity of the report. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.31.108.171 (talk) 03:42, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

Talk page vandalism/garbage text
[edit]In a situation such as Talk:Geeta_Kapoor, what is the protocol pertaining to removal of meaningless garbage submitted by other users? Jcmcc450 (talk) 06:56, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- It's harmless. There is no danger of anyone mistaking it for a useful contribution. It's short. I would just ignore it and carry on. Maproom (talk) 07:23, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

- @Vishalv.carbon: You have provided virtually no specific information aside from your username, and this is the only edit in your history. So it would be very difficult to be of any assistance to you. What article? There is no article on the English Wikipedia called "Pune cuisine". Do you recall anything about the error messages? Have you tried your edit again? ―Mandruss ☎ 07:35, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

Sean Banks
[edit]Hello,
I am trying to create a page for Sean Banks on Wikipedia. It was rejected because they say he doesn't have any notable public work and he does have some notable public accomplishments. I have added a few online publications that might better help this process. They do not show up as Sean Dr. Banks but as Sean Mocca Banks and he is attempting to change his name for a new business venture. Is there something else I have to do in order to successfully get an approval from Wikipedia?
Also is there someone I can contact to help improve the pages look?

- The draft at Draft:Sean Banks still doesn't cite any sources. Please take a look at this page for help with that. The tone is too promotional and needs to be much more neutral. I fixed some of the formatting. From the original formatting it looked like the text had been copied and pasted from somewhere else. If it was and if that material was copyright, that opens up other issues.--ukexpat (talk) 17:39, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hello, JeromeMarriott42. The decline message doesn't say he doesn't have any notable public works: it say that the article does not establish that he is notable (in Wikipedia's special sense). What you need to do is to find a number of reliable publications, unconnected with Banks, which write about him at length. In fact, if you work on the basis that every single statement in the article must be be based on (but not copied from) a reliable published source, which you cite, the article will have a much better chance of acceptance. --ColinFine (talk) 21:59, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
CloudHashing Vandalised
[edit]- Title added and wikilinks fixed below. CaptRik (talk) 18:13, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
The following pages have been recently vandalised.
Emmanuel_Abiodun Changes were made such as : Occupation Con and CEO and Founder
CloudHashing The following was added with no sources and is conjecture.
Dear CloudHashing customer:
Due to the changed financial viability of our cloud mining service, we have decided to increase the management fees associated with the service to USD $0.15 (15 cents) per gigahash per month. This amount ($164.71 per month) will be deducted directly from your mining earnings. If your mining earnings are not sufficient to cover the management fees, you will be invoiced for the remainder amount.
If your account remains in arrears for longer than 30 days, your contract will be terminated and your account will be closed.
In order to avoid management fees, Cloudhashing customers may opt to sell their contracts back to Cloudhashing. You currently have 1.10 Th/s of Cloudhashing contracts. Cloudhashing offers to buy these contracts back today for a price of 0.81288729 bitcoins. This is a temporary offer to customers who would choose such an option and expires at 12:00 midnight, Pacific time, on 8th February 2014.
Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.140.24.74 (talk) 17:42, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

Placerville Ca
[edit]In the notable people section on the placerville ca page you've forgot to mention motocrosserSteve Lamson . He's the 3rd or 4th winningest racer in motocross history. Also he won the national championships in 95-96. He's been in several movies and MX videos.. And he's graced the pages of dozens of different magazines over the last 20+yrs. Steve has been a huge part of our community and has been very gracious to everyone that approaches him. He was born in orangevale ca and came up racing on the hangtown track.. And he's always kept resident in the greater placerville area. Just hoping that we could get that noted on our Placerville site? Thank you.
- Steve Lamson is not included, because we don't have an article on him.
If you think he meets our general notability requirements, and the specific ones for motorsport, you could write an article on him using the Article Wizard - Arjayay (talk) 20:44, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
False info about Gaudi
[edit]in the section about Gaudi's childhood there is a reference to his artistic proficiency and awards from the Vatican which is blatantly False. This must be resolved immediately. sincerely, Angry Artist — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.176.221.194 (talk) 18:33, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing that out. As the additions to Antoni Gaudí were badly formatted and unsourced, I have removed them as requested. Please post concerns about article content on the article's talkpage. You can also revert obvious vandalism yourself or remove content, when reliable sources contradict the article's content. Error in coding

Help:Cite errors/Cite error included ref
[edit]I inserted the correct reference but, obviously, I am doing it wrong.
http://delawarelaw.widener.edu/about/news-events/news/article/250
Feel free to fix it when you can - I admit that I do NOT understand the requirement.

User name: grjtwin2 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Grjtwin2 (talk • contribs) 21:34, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hello, Grjtwin2. You somehow managed to insert two nested <ref>...</ref> pairs, one inside the other - but empty, without the reference you intended to insert! I have corrected it. But please note that most the references are bare URL's, which is not recommended: please see Referencing for beginners for more information. --ColinFine (talk) 22:08, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- ... so I've gone in and expanded that particular reference, using the template {{cite web}}. I've also reworded the sentence you added, because a) "has just become" is never appropriate in Wikipedia - somebody might be looking at the article in five years' time! b) It was inaccurate anyway - according to the article, he is to take up the position on 1 July. --ColinFine (talk) 22:18, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
BABE RUTH
[edit]The second paragraph of Ruth's bio states that Brother Matthias at St. Mary's school was a member of the Christian Brothers. But as mentioned later in the article, the school was run by Xaverian Brothers, which I can confirm, since they were teachers at my high school in Brooklyn, NY. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.5.41.141 (talk) 23:00, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- If you have a published reference, you are welcome to edit the article yourself; otherwise the best place to bring your suggestion up is on the talk page of the article, Talk:Babe Ruth. --ColinFine (talk) 10:37, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
