Female mallard in flight
Reason
Quite small, subject in shadow, and does not actually show flight feathers as well as some other photos like this one, so it doesn't have much identification value. We have another FP of the same species, though that one does not show the bird in flight (but does show both sexes in one image). We actually have another FP of a male in flight, which is better than this one but not that great either. And there is a fourth mallard FP as well, a female with ducklings.
Articles this image appears in
Flying and gliding animals (where it illustrates "birds," so it is highly replaceable with many better FPs of birds in flight), List of birds of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, List of birds of Colorado, List of birds of Kansas.

Portrait of Jimmy Wales
Proposed nom – CSS image crop
Reason
Currently unused in article space. This was somewhat controversial when nominated due to quality. Astonishingly, despite the existence of a great many free photographs of Wales, I'm not really seeing a good candidate for a D&R; this one's OK but not used in favor of a not very good edit. If you see Mr. Wales about, please take a high quality photograph of him.
