Speedy deletion nomination of Yayasan Mendaki
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Yayasan Mendaki requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.mendaki.org.sg/about-mendaki/general. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. /wiae /tlk 18:53, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- I have deleted the page. Contrary to the claim that the "information on the website has been paraphrased for neutrality", more than 40% of the article's text was a word-for-word copy of the website. Please do better going forward. Thanks! 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 20:56, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Yayasan Mendaki, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

August 2017
[edit]Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. Sro23 (talk) 18:24, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
Most importantly, please try not to edit the same pages as both an IP and an account. Also, as your IP is currently blocked, do not edit Wikipedia until that block expires. When you are blocked, you're blocked as a person, and you may not edit as an IP or account. I know that the last time your IP was blocked, you were active as YewGotUp before that block expired. This is considered block evasion. Don't do it again. Sro23 (talk) 18:29, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
- Hi @Sro23: thanks for taking the time to contribute to Wikipedia. I believe that it is important that one is certain, beyond a reasonable doubt, that any allegations that they make are true, and can be backed with evidence. This is doubly important for someone currently undergoing training as an SPI clerk, as inappropriate jumping towards conclusions might lead to users being wronged. Apart from occasional borderline violation of the 3RR rule (because of persistent vandals), I don't think that I have infringed on Wikipedia's policies in any other way, nor have the IPs I used been previously blocked.
- I invite you to edit or strike out your comment if you cannot back your above statement. --YewGotUp (talk) 21:25, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
- I was referring to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Reid62, in which you admit to breaking 3rr as the IP. Right now that IP is blocked. Sro23 (talk) 22:31, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing out your source. It seems that I was confused as to which IP belonged to whom myself. I've edited Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Reid62 to clarify. --YewGotUp (talk) 22:40, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for the clarification. Sro23 (talk) 23:46, 2 August 2017 (UTC)

Predatory sources
[edit]You reverted my removal of a predatory open access journal. These journals have no functional peer review and are not considered reliable, especially for medical articles. Guy (Help!) 14:20, 15 December 2017 (UTC)

Explanation on notability
[edit]Hello YewGotUp. I thought I would like to provide a more personal explanation for WP:NOTNEWS. Per the criteria listed there on enduring notability, not all events qualify for inclusion simply because they appear in reputable news websites. I note that you had added the Mothership source after I tagged the MustShareNews source as an unreliable one, but after a few weeks, there's still no lasting coverage, so I have removed it. If you wish to discuss further on the article's talkpage to gather further opinions, I would be amenable to listen. Seloloving (talk) 05:24, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
