Edgar Allan Poe

[edit]

Hello, welcome, and thank you for your edits to the article on Edgar Allan Poe. I am a little worried about compromising the integrity of a rare featured article so I would caution not to add new info without a new reference and not to significantly alter already-referenced information without confirming that the original source is aligned with the new way it is written. --Midnightdreary (talk) 13:46, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits have me quite concerned. This edit, for example, fundamentally changed the meaning of the text and also removed the source. If anything, you should be adding citations when you make such substantive changes. --Midnightdreary (talk) 13:10, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Anything added without a source comes directly from a piece written by Poe himself. Anything removed from this article was only done so because it directly contradicted what Poe set down on paper in his nonfiction works. That said, please feel free to correct the text if you spot errors, or whenever you feel I have misinterpreted or misunderstood Poe’s work. I will keep an eye on these edits. But remember we're looking for third party sources, not Poe himself. It reduces the risk of being a personal interpretation. See the pages on WP:RS, WP:CITE, and WP:OR for some guidance. Good luck. --Midnightdreary (talk) 12:43, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
