Please stop and gain consensus

Please stop your campaign of changing "American" to "US-American". There is no support in common English language usage for this change. We summarize what reliable sources say about a person's nationality and reliable sources routinely call citizens of the United States "Americans". Please do not disrupt Wikipedia to make a point. Thanks for the information, but that is what I definitly believed when I made the changes. By WissM
