Information icon Hello, I'm AntiDionysius. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Mental health have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. --AntiDionysius (talk) 11:45, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

how inappropriate this . its an only information. Usamasha27 (talk) 12:00, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The link to a random blog does not contribute to the page. Also, the page already has a discussion of the role of yoga with a link to a high-quality source, so the statement which accompanied the blog link was redundant. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:08, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ok thanks Usamasha27 (talk) 12:15, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I notice you've copied content from the blog post in question to your sandbox, along with a link to it. If the blog is yours, this likely violates rules about using Wikipedia for self-promotion. If the blog is not yours, it would break rules about use of copyrighted content on Wikipedia. Per WP:BADSAND, these policies apply to sandboxes. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:22, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
i want my blog to rank that,s why i put the link on wikipedia if you don,t like it let me know what to do Usamasha27 (talk) 12:57, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's not that I don't like it, it's that it's against Wikipedia policy. What you need to do is remove it. AntiDionysius (talk) 13:02, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wikipedia is not a medium for promoting or publicising anything, including blogs. That includes trying to use Wikipedia to increase your blog's search ranking. (Incidentally, the attempt wouldn't have worked anyway, as Wikipedia articles use "no follow" tags, and pages in user space use "noindex" tags.)
  • You are, of course, very welcome to start making contributions to the encyclopaedia, in line with Wikipedia policies and guidelines, if you are interested in doing so, but if you are only interested in publicising your blog then Wikipedia is not the right place for you. [edit]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1] MrOllie (talk) 11:44, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did at Mental health, you may be blocked from editing. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because you are evidently here not to contribute to the encyclopaedia, but to use Wikipedia to try to publicise your blog. Almost all of us, when we start editing Wikipedia, know little or nothing about Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, so nobody can be blamed for starting out doing things that are contrary to policies and guidelines that they don't know about. However, continuing to do the same things after being told about the relevant policies and guidelines is a different matter..
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  JBW (talk) 18:28, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • I will keep checking for spam links to your website, and if I see any more I will request for it to be added to Wikipedia's spam blacklist, which will mean that the Wikipedia software will prevent any link to it ever being added, even in the (very unlikely) event that at some time in the future there's a legitimate reason for it to be added.
