I notice that one of the first articles you edited was Cycling shoe, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Hi Dennis-

I am new to Wiki. My name is Dawn Urbanek. I own a consumer education and resource site called Bicycleapparel.com that has a lot of cycling information. I do not make or sell any products. The name bikeapparel.com also goes to that same web site. What is the best way for me to help with some of these cycling apparel articles? The external link that you deleted was to a very long and detailed article about bicycle shoes and pedal systems. I also started to edit the downhill cycling equipment re: downhill cycling shoes. You can best help Wikipedia by adding information to the article instead of external links for a while. After a bit, you should be better able to discern whether or not an external link would add to an article. It's disingenuous to call it only a "consumer education" site. The site leads you to select retailers to buy stuff. It's obvious the point is to drive traffic from Wikipedia to the web site and then on to the advertisers' retail sites. You can still add information to articles and cite third party sources that you have no interest in. Better yet, edit Wikipedia articles unrelated to your work to avoid any conflict of interest.
