Userboxes

[edit]

Glad to see you like my userboxes. If you're loking for more, I suggest scanning the categories your page is already on and picking userboxes you like. That's how my collection got so big. I'll be making a couple more soon, mostly in the departments of beliefs and entertainment. Ben 10 22:23, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cool Userpage...

[edit]

Wow, I just have to say, you have some cool userboxes, and that I appreciate your expressions of religion. I'm glad I'm not the only one! Dragons do rock somthin' fierce... ~User: Sophiakorichi

By the way, as you seem to like fantasy books, I have some suggestions for some you might like to read: Sabriel, by Garth Nix, and Airborn (and its sequal, Skybreaker) by Kenneth Oppel.~ Sophiakorichi

Your very welcome. My name is pronounced so-fe-uh-kore-ee-chee. :) and don worry, most people arent sure of the pronounciation (spelling?) either. ~Sohpiakorichi

Removal of category from your userpage

[edit]

Hi. In enacting consensus from User categories for discussion, I have removed the category Category:Wikipedians interested in books from your userpage. It was determined in that deletion debate that this category should be depopulated of individuals, but kept as a parent category. If you wish to display a category reflecting your interest in books, please consider one of the specific sub-categories under its umbrella. Thanks, and please excuse the necessary editing of your user page! ----Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:36, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Discarded Material

[edit]

I feel the same way, they were a lot of articles that should never have been removed. These include stuff (like characters, episodes, organizations, races, etc.) from cartoons, movies, comics, video games, manga, and anime. There were also other articles like "List of stereotypical characters in the world of drama" and "High school subcultures" that I normally visit. I wasn't happy when I found out these articles were gone. The only way to find them is to go to Wayback Machine, yet some of those links are still unaccessible. However, between us, some articles still exist in Wikipedia. For example, type "Kami (Dragon Ball)" in search, it'll take you to "List of supernatural beings in Dragon Ball", but go to the redirect page above and then go to its history page. ----Mediadimension (talk) 23:06, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If the three names are linked here, I would suggest 1) you add something to the article like your edit summary "they share their names with common elements" and 2) link to real articles for the second two rather than disambiguation pages. cheers, (John User:Jwy talk) 19:14, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ganondorf alive the whole time?

[edit]

""So long as Ganondorf was not revived, Hyrule would remain below, never waking from its slumber.""

There is no indication that he immediately revived, and in fact many that it only opened shortly before the events of the game - about a year, at most. The TWW backstory specifically claims that he was dead-ish after the Flood "war", and that he had to be revived, like in so many other games, in order to return. Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 15:51, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TWW is continuously claimed to only be about a century after OoT, and within the series, "revived" is mostly used to refer to Ganon being resurrected, like in OoX, FSA, or TAoL.
Gaint != 20 ft. Godzilla is about as big as a skyscaper, and most of main kaiju are similar. Bowser shouldn't be in it, though chaos might (though kaiju is specifically supposed to be about King Kong/Godzilla type creatures). Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 17:33, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe, but the indications are still that Ganondorf was only recently revived. As for Kaiju - no, it means strange monster, and it refers to sentai and godzilla-like monsters, not the mythological demon that Ganon is based on.Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 20:59, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Ganon. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 04:59, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of Paper Mario series characters. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Paper Mario series characters. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:10, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Deltora Quest characters, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Pouch and Joker (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Opinion request

[edit]

Hello colleague,

I am interested in the Middle Ages too.

I created Category:Medieval civilizations which is part of Category:Civilizations by time. The former is nominated for deletion and at the moment the vote is 2:0 in favor of deletion. I am used to deletions, but this time I am stunned. I do not believe there is no place for such a category. I believe that most people with interest in history would agree that civilizations existed in the Middle Ages. I ask people to contribute their opinion to the discussion.
