Adminship[edit]Hi... I've been watching you in action, and I think you'd make a fine administrator if you were interested. Your edit count is a bit light for what people seem to want nowadays but it's growing. I'd be happy to nominate you either now, or later, if you were interested. What do you think? I'll watch here for your reply. (you gotta fix that album cover thingie though!) ++Lar: t/c 15:02, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
So then... let's get the process started. It can go live "whenever"... I'm working on creating the RfA page as we speak. It can percolate for a month or more, there's nothing wrong with that. ++Lar: t/c 11:28, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
hey back from thewolfstar[edit]Tijuana, Thanks. I understand what you mean about not posting the Kapersky Trust unblock request on Jimbo's page and I won't do it again. Kapersky has been told to send an email to his block guard and is obviously extermely uncomfortable about that. He is aking that his comments be seen by all and is obviously scared. He knows what living in a Communist regime is like. He came here looking for freedom and instead has found more of the same oppression here. You and I have talked before, remember? We've had some good talks, too. At least, I enjoyed them a lot. I believe there was a level of honesty achieved there thanks, initially, to your kindness and consideration when I was stressed up. Can you help me help this guy now, the way you helped me? He needs our help. Thanks Tijuanna. peace Maggiethewolfstar 09:15, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

It didn't take me long to learn the Wiki rules, or at least the ones that I have been accused of breaking so many times. I broke them most of the time, at least, because of the irony of the situation as I've explained above. Sometimes I broke the rules and yelled defensively and was rude. I've already aplogized to the people I was aware of. And they apologized to me. I have a hunch that the exact same situation happens to many newcomers. And you know what? I have seen for sure that this is what happens on a regular basis, not only to newcomers, but to anyone who comes up against the powers here. The cabal, the oligarchy whatever you want to call it. I hope you don't take offense at what I say to you, Tijuanna. I like you and would like to remain friendly with you. peace, Maggiethewolfstar 06:48, 3 May 2006 (UTC) discrimination at wikipedia???[edit]why you told me to look at portuguese(you didnt expell well on my talk page) wikipedia?.is the english version only reserved for americans our english folks?.i dont think so as wikipedia is under GFDL amean anyone can edit or read.are you mad because i sent the link of times to vote on jimbo?if yes i dont think this is the way to react with racism and discrimination.my apologies if you dont like jimbo wales.may peace be with youuser:felisberto3May2006(UTC)

Changes made[edit]I've completed all your requested changes (you have May the Force be with you.[edit]Dear Tijuana Brass/Archive 2,
Hello Tijuana Brass¡Épa!-E@ Of all the editors I see on Wikipedia, you deserve this award the most. You are a true bringer of peace, a voice of reason at Wikipedia, and a wonderful friendly person. Thanks for being a friend. Yours in peace and freedom Maggiethewolfstar 03:34, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
hey[edit]Hey, Tijuanna, glad you like the award. You know I mean it sincerely. One thing people should know by now about me is I am honest. You are also honest, but seem to have acquired a gentler way of expressing stuff than I have. Uh, by the way, I didn't think you meant that kind of warm and tingly feeling..? hah. Anyway I know that due to your and Merecat's efforts that I would be Wikipedian history by now. At least..well maybe or maybe not..(be history). But I still appreciate some one who has the courage and integrity to go up against strong oppositon. I sure do know hard that can be. Did it my whole life and it's a hard road to trudge. Thanks for being who you are. peace Maggiethewolfstar 05:49, 4 May 2006 (UTC) Go Heels![edit]I figured you were at Wake. I did my *h.* at UNC Chapel Hill and left the Southern Part of Heaven in 1999. Winston-Salem is a neat place. (Yeah, my profession is what you'd expect.) (Do you really count the anti-trinitarians as part of the flock? It seems to me that most of them would revel in being called heterodox by the established churches. In particular, the neo-Albigensians up there (yes, I mean in Durham) were delighted in calling all members of all churches "false Christian scum" and the like and hoping for nothing so much as another crusade of St. Louis against them, as they were also collecting guns.) Geogre 01:38, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
I like to think that I'm as liberal as the next person (unless I'm in Cuba), but I don't think that a spirit of intolerance and an ability to define one's religion are synonymous. It's possible, I think, to say, "We are this" without saying "We will eliminate people who believe that." What has bothered me about liberal theology (or so-called liberal theology) is that it has mistaken a fuzziness of identity for tolerance at the same time that it has advocated wording changes without any adaptation of the concepts behind the words. Liberation Theology is frankly Marxisant, and yet it is definite, clear, and exclusive, so social justice and freedom can go hand in hand with powerfully identified theological principles; on the other hand, a lot of contemporary theology at, say Candler School of Theology, is based on the idea that God is a social construct that can be dispensed with or reshaped according to community (and then individual) need, and this leads to no way to say what it is that you believe. Once you can't say what you believe in, you cannot say that anything is outside of it. (Grumble.) I think 'liberal' theology is often not liberal, not liberating, and not left wing. Criticism of Mormonism[edit]I'll try to take a look, but won't be much use until tomorrow, as I'm trying to sort out the past few weeks of edits. Incidentally, your help could be used at Exmormonism. -Visorstuff 23:53, 8 May 2006 (UTC) Hi, TB. I was wondering if you might wish to share an opinion here. Bishonen | talk 11:53, 9 May 2006 (UTC). Re: Esperanza[edit]Thanks for your comments on my talk page. As far as my involvement in Esperanza goes, I'm not sure. EWS23 had a lot of good things to say at WT:ESP, but it still seems to me in this addition that I was being asked to leave under the words, "I am getting pretty damn sick of all of you." Also, my leaving Esperanza was apparently the first in a wave of people leaving, and I can't help but wonder if I was the catalyst of some of that. I suppose I took Richardshusr's message too personally. Regardless, I'll give some consideration to returning, but that depends on whether I think I can add something to Esperanza. --Elkman - (talk) 19:34, 9 May 2006 (UTC) Talk:Exmormonism Flames[edit]Thanks TB! Template Fix[edit]No - problem - we may want to consider making the Welcome to Wikipedia not be indicated by the == since that makes it so if you click the section edits it takes you to edit the template being transcluded. Happy editing! Note: the template won't work properly without the subst.
I don't think this is just a matter of different priorities, but "well roundedness" or editing "diversity" are not valid criteria for RfAs. I fail to see how either of these qualities could help separate good admins from bad ones. If you trust me with the tools, then I should have them. Why? Because an administrator is just a user that can be trusted with tools that originally everyone' had.
My history proves my good intentions and good practice in Wikipedia. If I suddenly can rollback, ban, etc., I'm not going to completely change and become "harmful". I'll still do everything I have been doing, but with increased ease. For the tools would be useful to me. There have been many times in the past where I couldn't move a page, or couldn't fix typos on the Main Page, but had to request them and wait.-- Rmrfstar 12:45, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Too bad[edit]It's too bad that you changed your mind on my RfA. Criticism of Mormonism Article[edit]Brass, I know you were active on this article in the past; however, I would ask you to take a look again. There is a need for nonMormons to assist in making sure that we Mormons are meeting NPOV standards and to further facilitate some of nonmormon editors. Also, I think I have come to the point where I think it impossible to keep this article substantially different from Mormonism and Christianity or what is covered in Anti-Mormonism. I find that it is more of a redundant article. I have asked whether it should be deleted; I know we talked about that in the past. I can't remember where you were on the vote. Regardless, if you have some time, please visit the article again. Thanks. (btw, I am actually trying to not tweak any noses...ok at least today I am not.) Storm Rider (talk) 07:10, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for supporting/objecting/tropicanising me in my request for Adminship. Although I wasn't promoted to admin status, with a final vote count of 14/27/12, I am very happy with the response I received from my fellow Wikipedians. Tropical cyclones WikiProject Newsletter #1[edit]The Hurricane Herald This is the monthly newsletter of WikiProject Tropical Cyclones. The Hurricane Herald aims to give a summary of the activities of the WikiProject over the past month and upcoming events over the next month. In addition monthly tropical cyclone activity will be summarized. You have received this as you are a member of the WikiProject, please add your username in the appropriate section on the mailing list. If you do not add your name to that list, the WikiProject will assume you do not wish to receive future versions of The Hurricane Herald. Sorry if the newsletter breaks your talk page formatting. Storm of the month Typhoon Chanchu was the first typhoon and first super typhoon of the 2006 Pacific typhoon season. Forming on May 9 over the open western Pacific Ocean, Chanchu moved over the Philippines on the 11th. There, it dropped heavy rainfall, causing mudslides, crop damage, and 41 deaths. It moved into the South China Sea, where it rapidly strengthened to a super typhoon on May 14, one of only two super typhoons recorded in the sea. It turned to the north, weakened, and struck the Fujian province of China as a minimal typhoon on the 17th. The typhoon flooded 192 houses, while heavy rainfall caused deadly mudslides. In China, Chanchu caused at least 25 deaths and $480 million in damage (2006 USD). Elsewhere on its path, strong waves from the typhoon sank eleven Vietnamese ships, killing at least 44 people. In Taiwan, heavy rainfall killed two people, while in Japan, severe waves killed one person and injured another.Other tropical cyclone activity

Member of the month The May member of the month is TitoXD. The WikiProject awards this to him for his brilliant work in improving articles. TitoXD joined the WikiProject in October just after it had been founded. Since then he has contributed substantially to many articles, for example Hurricane Nora (1997), which is currently a Featured Article Candidate. He is also actively involved in the assessment of articles and so helps to improve many more articles. Explanation of content If you have a topic which is not directly related to any specific article but is relevant to the WikiProject bring it up on the Newsletters talk page, and it will probably be included in a future edition of The Hurricane Herald. Could I ask why you've tagged this as an improper fair use? I've in the meantime removed the disputed fair use tag and added a fair use rationale for usage in the subject's article, as the image comes from the subject's official (supposedly -- I have no reason not to believe this) MySpace page and therefore would probably fall under promotional usage. Thanks. ju66l3r 19:33, 11 June 2006 (UTC) Why?[edit]Why'd you offer deletion, let alone speedy deletion, for the article for International Thumb Wrestling Association? It's a little difficult for friends in Texas and Pennsylvania to just get together to start an organization. --Slyder 22:17, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
If you can help me or know someone else that can help me put this article back in business, please let me know. Thanks. --Slyder 22:17, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
This is a start and is definitely not "great" by any means, but is a website nonetheless.

"I'm a writer with The Toronto Sun. Do you have a contact number for a future Sunday feature. And is there any Canadian connection at all in relation to the Thumb Wrestling Association. Please E-mail me back a contact phone number, and the best time of the day to reach you. Thanks. Thane Burnett Toronto Sun" Question.[edit]I have a question about your ID. Your ID is Tijuana Brass. But I know What Tijuana is. Let's me explain about Tijuana. Tijuana is a city that is located in border US and Mexico. But Tijuana is west side of U.S and Mexico Border, and next to San Diego. I also visited Tijuana about 5years ago for traveling. That's the reason I know about Tijuana. But What does Brass mean? Could you explain in my discussion page? Cheers~!! *~Daniel~* 02:43, 12 June 2006 (UTC) Golden Torch.[edit]Hello. I am a newcomer to Wikipedia and made an attempt at writing a starter (do you call it Stub) for an sixties Soul club in Stoke upon Trent called The Golden Torch. As it was not listed the next day I assumed I must not have pressed the save button, so wrote it again. I now find that it has been deleted and searching around all the FAQs etc. Came to your remark 'Niether Golden nor Torch' Please tell me what was incorrect and how it should have been written. regards, Docludi.
Wondering aloud[edit]I wonder how exactly User:Carbine, User:Dfrg.msc and User:Todjer (with his sockpuppet User:Todje) are related, if at all. They go around posting inane stuff on each other's user and user talk pages. Kimchi.sg 06:50, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
User:Kramden4700, User:Tobyvonmeistersinger, and User:Steers got horns kid, you don't[edit]Here is the evidence that Kramden4700 (talk · contribs) is another sock of Spotteddogsdotorg (talk · contribs): [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], and identical behavior and interests to this user's other sockpuppets, such as uploading numerous screenshots from TV news right after the account was created. Most of this user's socks were blocked by User:Splash over the last few days. Tobyvonmeistersinger (talk · contribs) is an old sock of this person that was missed when Splash blocked the others, and the main evidence is here: [9]. As it hasn't been used for a year it's probably not important but it's a good idea to tag all of these userpages as socks anyway. As for Steers got horns kid, you don't (talk · contribs), is helping identify abusive socks and correctly tagging their userpages now considered vandalism and deserving of a block? If so, why? 70.108.122.27 07:04, 13 June 2006 (UTC) 70.108.122.27 is an anon sockpuppet for Steers got horns kid, you don't (talk · contribs) who was banned because "Account created solely to vandalise." I would go so far to say that Steers got horns kid, you don't (talk · contribs) and his anon proxies are a) most likely another sock of Spotteddogsdotorg (talk · contribs) created to throw off suspicions b) most a sock of MrPhilly TV (talk · contribs) who may or may not have "hacked" or some how figured out various user passwords, if you are to trust what they say c) these accounts were dormant ones, the users left Wikipedia, the passwords were hacked and they are in effect "open" accounts. Kramden4700 (talk · contribs) appears to be a newbie who may have innocently picked the wrong couple of articles to edit and seems to have made legitimate contributions and "identical behavior and interests" doesn't seem like an exact match. The whole thing looks like a big mess so I am not even using my regular user name so I can not get involved in the scrum. However, this whole bit of craziness has inspired me to be on the lookout for problems such as this and open proxies. I Watch 18:55, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
There may be more. The person or persons involved may have had an ongoing confilct with someone who had a website and is trying to wage a personal vendetta using Wikipedia that the website owner may not even know about! It is one of the weirdest things I have seen here in a long time. I Watch 19:04, 15 June 2006 (UTC) Thanks[edit]Yeah, thanks for you fairness in the whole socks thing. Talk Please[edit]This is Locust43, I have gotten a new Ip so we could dicuss things because we have never discussed any of this. You this left warnings which really confused me alot. Before you block this IP I would like to hear your side of the story and I would like you to hear mine so maybe we could rationaly work something out. The last time, you did not give me enough time to add that last warning thing you left to the archive. you just blocked me. I was trying to figure out how to archive it again by following Wikipedia instructions. I really am sorry if you thing I was trying to be rude or something. I think this was a big misunderstanding. Hey[edit]Regarding the Cherry Creek High School, I accidently reverted the right version. I thought my previous vandalism revert didn't work, I am sorry about that error. Thank you for noticing, and thank you even more for keeping me honest. Yanksox (talk) 00:19, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
oh no[edit]I just welcomed, with open arms, a user (Carbine) whom you seem to have been campaigning against for a while. His new alias is Smugface the krill dwarf, and he's left you a friendly message just above mine. Sorry about that, here I am trying to do the nice thing by welcoming new people, and I've already placed myself at the risk of fraternising with a vandal, and someone calling himself 'Mohammadabuzer'. Dammit!!! Keep fighting the good fight! TrianaC 12:11, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
A sockpuppet of a user you blocked[edit]I was recently made aware on my talk page of a possible sockpuppet of User:Locust43, whom you blocked for an assortment of reasons. It appears that User:Cola2706 is making similar edits in which some of the same content is changed, (see diffs [10] and [11]). Namely the parts that show he is the same user is the changing of the word 'cell phones' to 'cells phones' and changing the list of Sprint Wireless competitors by size instead of customer totals. It's also possible that the user is trying to avoid the autoblock [12]. I came to you as you were the one who blocked the user to see what should be done. Thanks. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter. As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections. Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC) Dfrg.msc (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) has been report on WP:RFI as a suspected sockpuppet of Carbine (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). A quick glance at user/talk pages and contribs seems to support that. I noticed on User talk:Dfrg.msc you agreed to the removal of the sockpuppet tags, but still seemed suspicious. Added my two cents; if you don't mind, drop me another line here if anything else develops, as my interaction with Wikipedia lately is usually confined to checking my talk page via Opera Mini on my cell phone. But, many, I am sure many other people out there, are tired, frustrated and angry with the behavior of many Administrators. I am certain that it is appallingly easy to revert and article, that someone has undoubtedly spent allot of time and effort writing. I have, in the past spent hours, researching, planning, writing, checking and revising an addition to an article only to have the whole lot deleted forever three minutes afterwards. I know that deletion of material is essential in a free-to-edit encyclopedia, but if you see an article that someone has anonymously devoted their time to writing, why could you not revise it, change it or give a reason for you action? They deserve one. I know all Administrators are not all Drunk-With-Power-Trigger-Happy-Nazis, many of you do an excellent job and you know who you are. In closing: Create, don’t Destroy. Make a distinction between “what is right, and what is easy”. Be enriched and enrich others with the knowledge of other people. And keep that finger off the trigger.
(If I don't cop flack for this one, I will climb the Reichtag Bulding in a Spiderman outfit). Also, how do you get your page so bloody neat? Mine's so chocked full-of-shit you cant move. I got promptly rolled back like a vandal on your page--whole new experience! Bishonen | talk 20:43, 27 June 2006 (UTC). I would like to alert you to the recent edits by Anon166 on the KSS page. He persists in placing a Brodie quotation, without context, in the article. I have reverted twice, referring him to the Brodie discussion on Joseph Smith, Jr. Archive 5, but the quotation reappears along with wild accusations. I moved the quote to the talk page and provided my views on how the quote could be included. Same result. As your comment is on his talk page, would you mind looking things over? I make it a policy to avoid 3RR and edit wars whenever possible, but the historian in me insists on using Brodie sparingly and with other sources. Of course, he does not agree. Thank for the help.
