Caren J. Werlinger page
Hi! I saw your comments rejecting a page for the author Caren J. Werlinger. I am interested in a bit more details as to why the page was rejected - she has received significant awards for her books from well known organizations - organizations that are independent of her . . . .
I included links to each of the awarding organizations in the "external links" category. I chose this option rather than putting a reference link on every award, as that made the references section so long, I was worried the external links section would be lost. If the problem was that I didn't provide links to the pages for every award, I can do that . . .
Ms. Werlinger is already mentioned on the Wikipedia page for the Alice B Readers Award. The other two recipients this year already had Wikipedia pages, so I reached out to Ms. Werlinger and offered to make one for her . . . .
Besides all her other awards, the Alice B Readers Award states: The Alice B Readers Award[1] is given annually to living writers of lesbian fiction whose careers are distinguished by consistently well-written stories about lesbians. Named for Alice B. Toklas, the award is given once, only, in appreciation of career achievement. In addition to the medal, each recipient is given a lapel pin and a significant honorarium.
If Ms. Werlinger is being recognized for career achievement, why is that not enough to warrant a Wikipedia page?
I know there is also an issue with the photograph - I can take care of the release for the image file, but if the page itself won't be approved, then there isn't a need for the image release.
Thank you for any feedback you can provide!

- Your draft Draft:Caren J. Werlinger has no inline citations, all biographies of living people are required to have all content supported by a reliable independent source, see WP:REFB for help with formatting, we don't dump references at the end. Theroadislong (talk) 21:57, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
Need Explanation
You seem to act so rude. Give me a credible point as to how I am disrupting and how my insertion was advertorial. All the lists in the page of List of data-erasing software have followed the same notability and structure that I did. You are not God so please give credible explanation and I am at all my right to raise red flag against you. Stonu2003 (talk) 08:15, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
you are hurting my psychologically! Stonu2003 (talk) 08:16, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
- The article List of data-erasing software contains a list of notable companies, ie. those with Wikipedia articles, it is not an indiscriminate list of ALL data erasing software. Logging out to continue edit warring is likely to lead to a block. Theroadislong (talk) 08:37, 20 September 2021 (UTC)

Please read the references. Get some help if you don't understand Spanish or Portuguese. All the references are neutral, not casinos. Also, for the record, the Portuguese language page has ZERO references and just the one mention of the book. http://pt.wiki.x.io/wiki/Banca_francesa

In response to your latest correspondence, I want to make clear I have ZERO financial stake in promoting this topic. There are countless pages on Wikipedia that promote casino or dice games, including Roulette or craps. This is no different. Please see references. Thank you.
- You are editing using your real name remember. Please note the other articles are not promoting anything as far as I can tell? Theroadislong (talk) 15:50, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
Banca Francesa (dice game)
I am not promoting a single thing. I just don't understand where you are reading that. I don't understand how using my real name has anything to do with that. I created the profile to write this page as a side hobby, possibly to create more in the future. The first reference explains the game in full. If you don't understand, please get someone who does. Also, please see the Portuguese language post. http://pt.wiki.x.io/wiki/Banca_francesa. It has no references.
- It is irrelevant that there is a poor quality Portuguese article, other countries have very different criteria for inclusion, feel free to get other opinions at The Teahouse. Theroadislong (talk) 16:04, 20 September 2021 (UTC)

Dear Theroadislong,
thank you for your comments on my draft "Daimler and Benz foundation"! As you recommended, I disclosed my employer. I hope the objective of writing this article is clearer now. I would also like to note some more information about the foundation: The Daimler and Benz foundation (in German: "Daimler und Benz Stiftung") is a charitable institution that does not pursue any commercial purposes. Its objective is to promote science and research in order to gain a better understanding of the interrelations between humans, the environment, and technology. It also promotes dialog between the interested public and scientists from various disciplines.
The foundation's request to be represented on Wikipedia is for informational purposes only. The managing director of the foundation could confirm this in writing, if necessary. Can I submit the article again? Otherwise please let me know, if more information is needed for my submission to be accepted. Thank you! MiBlanche (talk) 09:21, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
Climate-ADAPT page on-hold
Dear Theroadislong, I am Chiara. We have recently communicated about a page called Climate-ADAPT (http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:Chiaramzztt/sandbox/Climate-ADAPT). Thank you for your advices! After your comments, and the comments from another editor, I have disclosed all the necessary information about the paid contribution (apologies for missing this). You wrote I should not further edit the page until I answer your message. I did that, but got no feedback yet. I know you might be busy but may I kindly ask you how I shall proceed? I believe the page is worth publishing, as the platform collects data and information that can be used by anybody looking for data on climate change, for free. The Platform is endorsed by the European Commission. At the moment, the page only describes the content that people can find on the platform and the platform itself. I wonder whether you could have a look at the page and let me know if I can improve it in any way, and try to publish it again. I would truly appreciate your advice and guidance. Thank you very much in advance for your time. Chiaramzztt (talk) 15:01, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
- I have added the submit template but the draft reads more like an advertisement, rather than a summary of what reliable sources have reported about them. Notability is judged by whether they pass the criteria at WP:NORG. Theroadislong (talk) 16:52, 21 September 2021 (UTC)

HI there point taken. Only it's not a just a press release. It's data from the LUMIERE database. A very useful short and recent digest. People reading the database info will just love this. It's what they are looking for. Trust me. I'm a data professional. What do you think? Did I convince? Appreciate your comment. Best EurAVObservatory

It took us a lot time to create our official page and it is indeed full of content about our Organisation. We appreciate your support and advice EurAVObservatory

Just saying that it IS indeed our official wikipedia page and I intend to make sure it's up to date and correct. It needs up dating as some of the information is not incorrect. Hi there
Hi Theroadislong, sorry I am new to wikipedia so there are many things I am not aware of yet. I am just trying to edit the article I wrote about newcomer music artist Kah' Linda in such a way that you can accept it for wikipedia, I have added a link to the allmusic credits of one of production team members behind Kah' Linda, I am not sure what else to add to make it worth to be posted? Rapmusiclover123 (talk) 12:10, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
- Wikipedia requires content to be supported by independent reliable sources, there are only primary sources in your draft which do not contribute to any notability. Theroadislong (talk) 12:38, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
Hi there, I am not completely sure what you mean with secondary sources, I have looked at this wikipedia article below and that one also is actually an unknown person, so why is that page valid and mine not? http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Christoph_Tisch
so I am not sure, what is the difference here?
thanks in advance!
- Using other poor quality articles like Christoph Tisch to justify another, is not a good idea, see other stuff exists. Wikipedia summarises what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets Wikipedia's special definition of a notable topic. Thank you for your guidance! I have a few follow-up questions
Thank you fo explaining the guidelines about adding family information to bios. The person who created my mother's page (http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Elzbieta_Ettinger#CITEREFEttinger1997) asserts without citation that my mother entered the Warsaw Ghetto in 1939. This is not possible, since there was no Ghetto until 1941. I was trying to fill in her whereabouts between 39 and 41. The person who created the page describes my mother as Polish-American. My mother identified as a Polish Jew, and to omit her Jewishness is a grave error, given that she wrote expressively about the Holocaust. I tried to correct that. Finally, I tried to add the fact that her papers are available at the Schlesinger Library at Harvard, which is important for future scholars. Can I make these changes if i refrain from adding other facts? Many thanks for your kind advice. Maiway2021 (talk) 18:55, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

Draft:Andrea Unger - Submission declined on 20 September 2021 by Theroadislong
Hi Theroadislong, I'm writing you to explore how can I improve the page I sent in review. Because I think that the person I mentioned is really notable (just to win 4 times the official Worldcup Trading Championship). Other people who won this competition (once) has been already in wikipedia (e.g. Larry Williams). What kind of resources can I use? Thanks in advance for your time and your suggestions. Angio92
- Re: Draft:Andrea Unger It would help to have more independent reliable sources. Linkedin.com is not a reliable source ever and this [2] is not independent. Theroadislong (talk) 15:48, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
- Re: Ok, thanks for explanation. This resource [3] is the the official website of Worldcup Trading Championship... is the only way I know to demonstrate that this person has won the competition. May can helps that this person has another page on wikipedia (different language)? (talk) 15:54, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
- That is not an independent source and the competition does not appear to be notable (ie. no Wikipedia article about it) Other countries Wikipedia have much less strict criteria for inclusion. I am confident that if the draft was in main space it would be nominated for deletion. Theroadislong (talk) 16:00, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
- Re: Thanks again for your help... so, do you think it's a good idea to add some articles (as resources) written by [[4]] and [[5]] that are the most important financial newspapers in Italy? Moreover I can change the resource from LinkedIn and WorldCup to an interview made by [[6]]

Hello, Theroadislong,
You do so much work on Wikipedia, I hate to add one more thing to your list. But it would help if, when you move a page from main space to Draft space, you could tag the original page, the redirect, as a CSD R2. It just helps admins patrolling speedy deletion categories to tag these pages so we can catch them & delete them. It's also useful for editors, when they want to move the pages out of Draft space, to have these cross-name space redirects deleted. I know there is a script to Draftify pages but I'm not sure if it tags pages for speedy deletion so you might have to take the time to do this step yourself. Many thanks! Liz Read! Draft: Vasileios Nektarios Sagonas (Early Life)
Hello and thank you for your help so far.
I know the artist's early life from interviews such as http://www.gaylife.gr.com/proud-zontas-anichta-ke-perifana-os-lgbt-stin-ellada/ and https://avmag.gr/31808/ο-v-sag-μιλάει-στο-antivirus/
plus i have many printed magazines since he is active more than 20 years. I do not have a personal relationship, I am a fan, but I am trying to make a wikipedia page as he deserves it.
Since interviews are not valid sources, should I completely remove the early life until I find a source or a journalist writes something about it?
- Interviews are not considered reliable or independent as you say, so perhaps better to remove any personal details sourced to them. Theroadislong (talk) 15:54, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
Trance Fury submission
Hi Theroadislong, Can I just point out, in all seriousness, that there are musicians on here with much less notability than what I'm adding. The fact that the music was played on national TV for 3 years straight is notable, no? I think it's worth having an article for this reason.
Thanks for the chat.

- See other poor quality articles exist for that argument, having music played on National TV is no indication of notability, see WP:NMUSICIAN for the criteria. Theroadislong (talk) 20:19, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

Hey, and apologies for leaving a message on your talk page. I added the draft above a few months ago, and your feedback was that I should add more sources. I added quite a few other sources including major media sites from around the globe, and the US (CNET). I'd be grateful if you could revisit the draft. I understand why paid contributions need to be tested more than other contributions, but I would not have taken this task upon myself had I not believed that it meets Wikipedia's criteria for relevance. I have created a fresh article Farhan Wilayat. I would be so grateful if you please review it and share your precious guidelines. Further, in addition to my afore-said query, I have another question please. I have added following external links as "evidences" of notable work done by that person. Please check and share your guidance.
- Live Report on Gusi Peace Prize & Water Projects on GNN TV Youtube video
- Live Report on Water Relief Projects on SAMAA News Youtube video
- Report on Pollution at Ravi Road on SAMAA News Youtube video
- Report on National Flag on Independence Day Youtube video

- It is alright. Thanks for your response. The said video links are just for evidences (in order to prove that person's work). Benneth Nwankwo
Hi there, Theroadislong. I have been looking carefully at draft:Benneth Nwankwo and it seems to me that for a young Nigerian film director, it is sufficiently sourced. You will also see extensive lists of links on Google. I tried to move the draft to mainspace with a view to further development there but for some reason found that only administrators were permitted to create an article under this name. I have not encountered such restrictions before and was wondering whether the ban was intentional and, if so, why. As you may know, there is currently wide interest in increasing the number of biographies of Africans who often do not hit the Western headlines in the same way as figures from North America and Europe. Hope we can sort this out together, especially as it is Olugold's first attempt at creating an article.--Ipigott (talk) 09:26, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
As I see this article was earlier refused for copyvio, I've checked it out and see there is no longer a problem.--Ipigott (talk) 09:38, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- I'm guessing that it was salted for creation, it has been speedy deleted three times in the past, I'm not an admin so can't accept a draft with a salted title. Theroadislong (talk) 09:40, 29 September 2021 (UTC)

- DGG: This sounds encouraging but I have just received a refusal from Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Decrease. Article on Fire Fighter William Rae
Hi,
Thanks for reviewing my draft/proposed article on Firefighter William Rae so quickly.
I've been reflecting on the rejection and thinking about the things I could have included to make it clear why I thought it was notable:
1 - He was the first (of a relatively small number) of fire fighters killed in the UK in the line of duty in the 20th century 2 - It made the front page news of the Glasgow Herald in 1904, it was newsworthy. The Glasgow Herald is a well-respected source, the 8th oldest newspaper in the world. 3 - He made the news again in recent years when the Fire fighter heritage trail was created
Before I do the world to update that, I wanted to check if you find that additional context persuasive that he was notable? — Preceding unsigned comment added by CT55555 (talk • contribs) 23:47, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- It looks doubtful to me. Have a read of WP:GNG. A topic is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list when it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, If you make the changes and re-submit I will leave it to another reviewer to take a look.Theroadislong (talk) 06:51, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
CT55555 (talk) 12:50, 3 October 2021 (UTC)My challenge here is that if it made the front page of the Glasgow Herald, it likely did get significant coverage elsewhere, but my ability to test that hypothesis is limited considering it was in 1904. It seems to me that this is very likely sufficiently notable, but because it is historical in nature, that's difficult to prove CT55555 (talk) 12:50, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
Update: I found three more references by signing up for British Newspaper Archive, so have resubmitted with these. CT55555 (talk) 13:26, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
FAMIGO (Arizona company)
Hi Theroadislong,
Thanks for the feedback. In terms of articles, the referenced articles are written by independent sources and describe what the company does, creators, etc, including techcrunch article. Can you help me understand what would make the articles secondary source?
Thanks for the help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bossming (talk • contribs) 19:04, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- This source [8] and this source [9] don’t mention Famigo, the others look like press releases. Please also declare any undisclosed paid editing or conflict of interest. Theroadislong (talk) 19:46, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
Hello, I am new to wikipedia editing.
I'm still not sure how I can have my Wikipedia article allowed, like I'm talking to Mz Boom Bap himself, but I don't know how to prove it or find any other sources for the information I have gathered, like I said, I'm very new to editing as I have only been editing off and on for nearly a year. Still not sure how things work. Thanks. Sodapoppers (talk) 20:42, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- As I commented on your draft, you have misunderstood how Wikipedia works. Wikipedia summarises what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets Wikipedia's special definition of a notable topic. Nothing that you have gathered from Mz Boom Bap himself can be used in an article. Theroadislong (talk) 20:46, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- So if he gives the information he gave me to a reliable source, I can then use what the source said and reference them so it can be verified? Sodapoppers (talk) 21:10, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
If you don't mind, could you look at my references page to see if that will work? I apologize for my lack of knowledge. Sodapoppers (talk) 21:14, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- Your only source so far is this [10] which is his record company so is not independent and of no use at allfor establishing any notability, sorry. Theroadislong (talk) 21:18, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
So it needs to be a source that's not his record company or himself? Like Worldstar Hip-Hop and things related to that? I once again apologize for my cluelessness haha. Sodapoppers (talk) 21:22, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
About my Mz Boom Bap draft.

(Electronics) Right To Repair
Hey @Theroadislong:, the electronics right to repair article is poorly written and does monopolize the whole right to repair topic for just one vertical. My suggestion is to: - merge the history of both into one Right to Repair article - Leave the separate page to the specific issues as there also others (farm vehicles & cars is a big topic for example) I hope to gain your support for my project

- In addition it would be nice if Admins take a minute to read what they are rejecting.... just to make wikipedia a nicer place.
Fthobe (talk) 11:47, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- I am not an admin, you are free to edit the existing article, we don't submit re-writes to WP:AFC. Theroadislong (talk) 11:49, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hey @Theroadislong:,It's not a rewrite. It's a different article, in fact it covers a part of electronics right to repair but goes beyond researching the history of the topic as a whole and not one aspect (electronics). It would be immensely awesome if you either read before declining or not decline at all. There was even a comment regarding that issue on the discussion page of the draft. - I am not an admin, you are free to edit the existing article, we don't submit re-writes to WP:AFC. Theroadislong (talk) 11:49, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- Fthobe, perhaps the best course is to merge them. DGG ( talk ) 01:40, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hey @DGG:, we already found a solution in the tea house, as you can see the electronics right to repair article has some very strong parts, others that are written horribly. Nevertheless, given the many aspects of the issue, it makes sense to create a main article and branch out to other articles where it makes sense (such as "Electronics Right to Repair" and "Automotive Right to Repair"). I am currently working on the draft to resubmit, convert current right to repair into a "Right to Repair (Disambiguation)" and reduce electronics right to repair to content that is related to just that vertical. I understand the approach to limit creations in favour of quality, but here there are just so many different topics to cover that don't necessarily interact well, while still being related and intertwined with each other. I think a main article and sub articles would be the approach to go like with iPhone and iPhone 11.Fthobe (talk) 11:13, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hey @Theroadislong:, ok, I gave it my best. I would suggest the following: I leave you the honour of shifting articles around a little :) I have moved Right to Repair to Right to Repair (disambiguation) freeing up the space. My next step is to move the draft to the main space (if you want to do it, go ahead!). I would like to shift content around this weekend and already publish the main article due to the quantity of content. I don't want to remove it from Electronic Right to Repair without having the other article up online. Is that ok for you?Fthobe (talk) 15:36, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
- The way you're doing it is better; there is enough for two articles. I tend to look for the easy way out that takes the least thinking. DGG ( talk ) 01:27, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
hey @DGG:, no worries! Keeping mainspace restricted to valid articles is always the right thing to do! Fthobe (talk) 12:48, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
Draft: Home-Start UK
Hi. I am glad to get a quick response but disappointed at the outcome. I took pains to follow the rules and declared my interest, noting on the talk page that I am an unpaid Trustee. I was also careful to find what independent references I could, and to eschew any corporate messaging. I submitted the article for review rather than like some using a pseudonym and publishing. I believe it meets the standard stated "Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed."
You have added a notice including "This article may have been created or edited in return for undisclosed payments". This would appear to be an oversight on your part, but I am afraid it is in effect a false allegation of impropriety against me personally, quite unfair and unfounded. I would like to re-iterate as stated on the talk page that I am an unpaid charity Trustee. Could I ask you to reconsider your response? Thank you. Philip Sugarman (talk) 19:41, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- It read like an advert so my guess was that it was written by someone who was being paid or had a conflict of interest, hence the tag. Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell about something or someone Wikipedia summarises what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability. Please also review conflict of interest.
This source [11] for instance is an interview with the chief executive of Home-Start UK, interviews are NOT reliable or independent. This [12] and this [13] and this [14] are primary sources, we have no interest in what their own website says about them. Theroadislong (talk) 20:08, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- I am sorry about this situation. Every assertion that I wanted to place in the short article I believe to be true, and I offered what references i could find, using third party sources where they exist. I did this transparently, placing a notice about my conflict of interest, asking for a review, using my own name. Using your wiki handle, which in my view is a lack of transparency, so I do not know who you are, you respond by posting a false allegation of payment, as you say "my guess was that it was written by someone who was being paid or had a conflict of interest". So it seems that you had not noticed my posting on the appropriate talk page of my conflict of interest and my declaration of being an unpaid Trustee; or you ignored this information in favour of guessing, for some reason. I would again ask you to reconsider, in the spirit of fairness; or perhaps you point me to which assertion reads like an advert, and in what way. Thank you. Philip Sugarman (talk) 09:44, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- Your user page statement which is no longer there said "a charity of which I am a Trustee' it says nothing about being unpaid, many trustees are actually paid. It is not enough for assertions to be "true" Wikipedia requires content to be independently sourced, you can ask for further help at the Wikipedia:Teahouse or Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk. Theroadislong (talk) 10:35, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- On the talk page of the draft article in question I posted the required information that I am an unpaid Trustee. That is the place that the Wikipedia guidance on creating an article says that I should post my conflict of interest. I am sorry that your missed this information and made the wrong decision. An apology would be appreciated. The information I have removed from my own talk page was removed after you refused the article, as it was then somewhat misleading to say that I was intending to create an article. The guidance on creating an article that I read said that that all information has to be independently sourced wherever possible, third partly information was preferable etc. I agree with this. However I see that many Wikipedia page probably including ones have approved include references that do not meet this ideal. I would still be grateful if you could give me one or more examples of which parts of the article read like an advert, as this seems to be grossly inaccurate. Please reconsider your approach and offer some specific response on how this very short article could be improved in any practical way that would meet your requirements. I am still hoping for some practical, specific or supportive response from you which would enable me to post this very short and rather neutral statement about a large not-for-profit community charity. It is certainly notable and should be covered by wikipedia. I would appreciated a direct response to my concerns rather than you responses so far which have avoided admitting any error on your part. Philip Sugarman (talk) 21:55, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- The article would be better written by someone entirely unconnected with the organisation. Please see other poor quality articles exist and if you want further advice please ask at the Wikipedia:Teahouse or Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk. Theroadislong (talk) 22:03, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hi I have read your various advice, decided to scrap my attempt to write as Home-Start Uk page, and instead re-written the Home-Start International page as the main article. I hope you find the tone of this, this time around, more acceptable if not perfect. I have cut down some of the original Home-Start International text and taken out some of my Home-Start UK text, and generally tried to make it more dispassionate and detached. I have found some independent references and will try to find some more.
- If you agree would now make sense to name this page Home-Start, as "Home-Start international" has not existed for many years. It would then be good to take out the re-direct page Home-Start and delete the draft Home-Start UK page completely. I do not really know how to complete this rearrangement and would be grateful for your assistance and hopefully your approval. Philip Sugarman (talk) 14:05, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
- As you have a very clear conflict of interest you should NOT be editing Home-Start International directly but only requesting edts on the talk page using the edit request system. Theroadislong (talk) 14:26, 4 October 2021 (UTC)

recommendations to improve Hypermind article
Hello The Road is long, and thanks for your time and review of the Hypermind page.
I was hoping to ask you a couple questions so i can improve the article and minimize the rounds of edits:
- you mentioned the tone isn't up to the wikipedia neutral standard, was that the case for the entire article or specific sections ? - I believe the sources I used are pretty solid (research papers, articles): do you consider there aren't enough? or not diversified enough ? - did you spot any specific things other than sources and tone that I should improve ? (structure, length etc)
- would the following edits be satisfactory: 1)clean up the overall tone, 2)make sure no claim is left unsourced 3) lighten length of the article
Thanks for your advice, this is my first ever wikipedia entry and I feel a little lost :)

- Wikipedia has essentially no interest in anything the organisation has to say about themselves. It is only interested in what people who have no connection with them have chosen to publish about them. The article should be limited to a summary of what such independent sources have said about them. The vast majority of your content is promotional and unsourced. Theroadislong (talk) 08:20, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
Noted, will delete anything unsourced and promotional.VoodooBluesChocolate (talk) 09:07, 5 October 2021 (UTC)

Thank you
Dear Theroadislong, Thank you very much for your feedback and time. I have further revised the article and added more sources mentioning the Climate-ADAPT platform. The language is even more neutral than the latest version. The only part of the text that does not have any citation is the bare description of the platform, which is based on what you see when opening the website: the menu items, the database items, the typology of information. Is this acceptable? Would you still consider this as a promotional article? If so, may I kindly ask you to help me identify the controversial parts of the article? I will be happy to further revise and make more research. Otherwise,, if you think that the problems of the article are neither the language nor the sources, but the nature of the article itself, could you please help me understand what makes this article promotional and where? Any advice will be extremely welcome. Thank you and best regards Chiaramzztt (talk) 14:08, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
- Still reads exactly like an advertisement rather than a summary of what reliable sources have reported. Theroadislong (talk) 14:12, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
PEI Genesis Wiki page
Hi, Theroadislong,
I apologize for reaching out - you had recently denied my publish request for a page focused on PEI Genesis, a connector company in the electrical engineering space.
I'm trying to get my feet wet with Wikipedia and see about refining my ability to publish and edit pages. I want to make sure I follow wiki guidelines while doing so, but I'm not sure how to improve the page that was denied? I think it has something to do with this source that is linked, but I'm not sure what else I can do to get a page published around this company. The source is a very prominent media site inn the electrical engineering industry - its not a directory listing or anything like that.
They are one of the bigger suppliers in the industry (I'm an EE myself and am trying to focus my efforts on this industry for starters). No disrespect at all here, just looking for advice on how to improve. I really appreciate you taking the time to review the page and read my message.

- Your draft Draft:PEI Genesis has only one source which appears to have been written by the company. Wikipedia is not for merely providing information. A Wikipedia article about an organisation must summarise what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about them, showing how it meets Wikipedia's special definition of a notable business. Unless you consider Rich Brownstein acceptable I might move it back to draft. It looks like the move was done somewhat randomly by an editor with no review experience and without explanation. Best, GPL93 (talk) 16:27, 7 October 2021 (UTC)

- I moved it to a proper AfC draft. I'm not so sure it's a pass through any SNG currently, but it might just be a case of WP:TOOSOON given how recently his book was published. Best, GPL93 (talk) 16:34, 7 October 2021 (UTC)

- (talk page stalker) Hi @Rich Brownstein: Theroadislong is correct here. Wikipedia has a very strict Biographies of living people policy that must be followed which includes inline citations to reliable sources for claims made that are independent of the subject. The publisher is not an independent source and Wikipedia is not a reliable source (but you can use the cited source from the article). You may also find An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing of interest (seriously, read it). Please also be aware we are all volunteers here and we get thousands of drafts, editors, etc. with the sole purpose of promoting themselves, their business, etc. Of course, that is not your fault but I hope it helps to provide some context. Draft: Guy Van Nueten
Dear Theroadislong
Thank you for reviewing this draft. As rightly requested after my first attempt, I have expanded the draft by a few sentences. Three references I used are independent in-depth interviews with the subject, published in (national) news papers and magazines. Can you suggest me which reliable sources I could use instead?
As for the notability, the subject already meets the following criteria:
- His collaborative album with Tom Barman reached no 11 in the national music chart (see the fourth reference)
- He has released multiple albums on major record labels (MCA/Universal and Sony Classical)
Thank you for any help you can provide.
Kind regards. CHIEP (talk) 10:54, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
- I'm afraid that interviews are not considered reliable independent sources when assessing notability. Theroadislong (talk) 10:56, 10 October 2021 (UTC)

- It will be declined for certain. This [15] is just a link to download music, This [16] and this [17] also just download pages and this [18] also. Re: Twitter and YouTube are not reliable sources
Thanks for taking the time to read my query about the DRAFT:Recall Brian Shannon entry.
Question 1: Does the inclusion of a Twitter or YouTube link automatically invalidate an otherwise acceptable article?
I only included the YouTube links because that's where the Newberg School Board meetings are archived. I included the twitter meeting because I consider it newsworthy that violations of Oregon Public Meeting Laws only became known to the public via tweet.
Question 2: The one thing the "What Wikipedia is Not" page doesn't cover is the phrase "not news." Any suggestions on how to interpret DGG's note of "not news" would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

regarding the comment on Artlist page draft
Thanks for taking the time to read my query about the DRAFT:Artlist. I'm not being paid for writing this page, I do work at Artist as I mentioned when I was asked about my connection to the company, but I saw we don't have a Wikipedia page so I said let's make one cause it's important... It is not something that I was hired especially to do... If I still need to make any disclosure please let me know what to do. Please don't delete the page, we will change whatever is needed. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ravit307 (talk • contribs) 09:23, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

I've added the paid contributer as you said, and I saw now that it was declined due to: "This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article" - but in the references you can see a lot of articles about the company from reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (even big ones as TechCrunch and Top startups lists that chose the company by themselves), can you please explain what else is needed for this company page to be approved? Thank you very much --Ravit307 (talk) 12:59, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- Basically it needs someone entirely unconnected to the company to create the article. Content like "Artlist works with a growing team of contributors across the globe, updating its catalogs daily." is entirely inappropriate marketing, the clients list is unsourced name dropping puffery, the awards are not notable Theroadislong (talk) 13:02, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
Ok, I understand. I'm deleting the marketing working and I've added few more references that are articles that were written on the company without the company initiated them. Regarding the awards - all are notable, I saw all three awards in other company's pages with the same links to the original article. All are notable well knows media outlets.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ravit307 (talk • contribs) 13:17, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
Hi, I re-submitted because I did improve - I've deleteed all marketing text and added references and explanations about the awards (with links to the media outlets pages). I really cannot understant what else can be changed, the text is neutral and all the references are reliable and notable... --Ravit307 (talk) 13:23, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
