15:50:16, 29 March 2018 review of submission by Authornaveedqazi

I have revised and made a longer list of references (around 20) which are truthful and speak about my occupation, contributions, media attention and interests.

I have put the infobox, mentioned the books which i have authored.

As an activist for peace and conflict resolution, I have added truthful facts about my contributions in my past regarding the Kashmir conflict.

With the inclusion of external links, I think there is more credibility and fluency to my overall profile for Wikipedia page submission.

I hope you consider these changes.

Thanking you in anticipation. Authornaveedqazi (talk) 15:50, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

We do not have profiles on people? We are not concerned with the truth either, we only report what reliable sources say about you. It really is best to let somebody unconnected with you, write an article about you. You appear not to pass the general notability guidelines. Theroadislong (talk) 16:25, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

New Page Review Newsletter No.10

Hello Theroadislong, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

ACTRIAL:

  • ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.

Paid editing

  • Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled

  • While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.

News

  • The next issue Wikipedia's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. The Signpost is one of the best ways to stay up date with news and new developments - please consider subscribing to it. All editors of Wikipedia and associated projects are welcome to submit articles on any topic for consideration by the The Signpost's editorial team for the next issue.

PSE Belgium

Dear,

I don't understand the problem with the page PSE Belgium that i made and my revisions. My only purpose was to add the correct information.

Kind regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shalini PSE (talkcontribs) 08:39, 30 March 2018 (UTC)

You are being paid to edit an article about your own company, the article has no independent sources the company is not notable and you are promoting it. Wikipedia is not the place to do this. Theroadislong (talk) 08:50, 30 March 2018 (UTC)

I have unreviewed a page you curated

Thanks for reviewing Irina Bagration-Gruzinsky, Theroadislong.

Unfortunately 1997kB has just gone over this page again and unreviewed it. Their note is:

Nominated it for deletion and it was auto-reviewed, but as rn tag deletion tag has been removed I am marking it unreviewed. Cheers!

Help

Hi, thank you for your comments on my page but I need some guidance. I am new to wikipedia and am trying to update a page to ensure that the correct updated information is there since there hasn't been an edit since 2015. It is for the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program page. I am an employee of that program. Am I not able to update the wiki so that accurate info is there? Like I said, I am new so please advise as to what I need to do. thank you!

Kmweimer (talk) 20:39, 30 March 2018 (UTC)kmweimer

You have a conflict of interest and should not be editing the article directly, you have added content with no sources, all content has to be sourced to independent reliable sources. Theroadislong (talk) 20:41, 30 March 2018 (UTC)

A little overzealous

Hey, thanks for patrolling Student Spaceflight Experiments Program. You're absolutely right that a conflicted editor should avoid editing the article themselves. However, your revert justification wasn't quite right - most of the updates Kmweimer made to "History" are actually reflected in the sources already present. And mission 13, though not mentioned in those exact pages, is discussed in a new press release on the same domain that's easily found. Taking a few extra minutes to check the existing sources and add the new one might have been wiser than reverting – first because it leaves the article in a better state, and second because it avoids chastising a new user who, though they are making mistakes, definitely got more right than wrong with the edits you reverted. —swpbT go beyond 14:53, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

Request on 21:28:37, 2 April 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Aparashar

How can "Potpourri Group is a direct marketing company based in Massachusetts, USA. It was founded in 1963 [1] and now has 15 [2] brands in its portfolio" be a "appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia"? It is a matter of fact promoting or selling no product. It is as encyclopedic as they come. Please review again. Thanks, Aparashar (talk) 21:28, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

DEFINITE

Dear Theroadislong,

My software is no different from the other software listed on this page. It is part of a university program and has been used for years at the university and elsewhere.

What exactly is the problem.

By the way making an edit to the page is not easy.

Cheers,

Ron Janssen — Preceding unsigned comment added by RonaldJanssen (talkcontribs) 12:07, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

In terms of Wikipedia your software is not notable it has no article written about it, adding links to your own business is considered spamming. Theroadislong (talk) 12:09, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

I have resubmitted Draft:Llizo Marketing for a re-review.

I have resubmitted the article for a re-review, please let me know if it reads better now? If not, can you give me an example of how to improve it. thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shirleylopezmiami (talkcontribs) 12:14, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

I saw your comment, can you check now and let me know, I fixed some things, if not can you please let me know which section reads like an advert? Thank You — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shirleylopezmiami (talkcontribs) 12:19, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

I also saw your comment about COI, I have no prior relationship with the subject nor am I getting compensation for the article. Thank You — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shirleylopezmiami (talkcontribs) 12:38, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

I saw your reason for denial and I disagree, wikipedia also disagrees. Wikipedia states that press releases are citable sources

http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Template:Cite_press_release

Nowhere within Wikipedia does ti state that press releases are not reliable sources and should not be used. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shirleylopezmiami (talkcontribs) 13:12, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

I would appreciate it you can site YOUR source for deciding that press leases are against Wikipedias guidelines; considering they have an entire template for citing them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shirleylopezmiami (talkcontribs) 13:28, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

Press releases would be OK if there were other independent sources as well. Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources#Self-published and questionable sources as sources on themselves You need to establish notability by adding independent sources, press releases come from the company and as such are a primary source. Theroadislong (talk) 13:39, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
I will leave it for another reviewer to take a look, this could take up to 8 weeks. Theroadislong (talk) 13:43, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

DISRUCPTIVE NO CHANGES

I am challenging the reason for not approval. It does not read like an advertisement at all.

There are so many other company pages that read so much more like advertisements than this one

http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Zubi_Advertising_Services

just as an example, and it has been active sine 2013

please provide and example from the article that reads like an advertisement
Please see other crap exists I have tagged it for reading like an advert thank you for bringing it to our attention. Theroadislong (talk) 15:05, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
I appreciate your response, but can you please give me an example of what reads like an advert within my article? It will help me tremendously to do it the right way — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shirleylopezmiami (talkcontribs) 15:46, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
The whole draft reads like an advert..."marketing agency with 10 years of experience through George Llizo" "Llizo Marketing offers Marketing services that include: Web design, Web development, Social media marketing, Search engine marketing, Video production, Content marketing and Brand management" "George Llizo has developed a proprietary process within Llizo Marketing to to help clients which is: Consult a client’s needs - Create the appropriate marketing strategy - Design & develop - Deploy then Optimize" "According to George Llizo the philosophy at Llizo Marketing is a work hard, play hard philosophy but always having success in mind. “Every company has a different definition of success, what one company may find as successful, another many not” says Llizo Marketing Founder George Llizo" There isn't a single sentence that reads in a neutral tone. Theroadislong (talk) 15:53, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

Gotcha, let me give it another try. I greatly appreciate your feedback. It's users like yourself that made Wikipedia great :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shirleylopezmiami (talkcontribs) 16:39, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

Excellent I revised the entire article, can you give it a quick read and let me know if it is in a neutral tone now? :) thank you http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Draft:Llizo_Marketing — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shirleylopezmiami (talkcontribs) 16:54, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

Yes the article is reading in a neutral tone now thank you...BUT you need to find some independent sources which discuss the business in-depth to support notability. Theroadislong (talk) 16:58, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

Could you sort out the settings in whatever tool you're using. You've written to me twice today declining submissions which weren't mine - nor were they submitted for review. Cabayi (talk) 14:31, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

Sorry about that it seems to be a glitch, I'm simply using AFCH v0.9 there are no settings. User:Locksmiff/Nate Locksmiff stallworth was submitted for review though. Theroadislong (talk) 14:33, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

Good advice

I wanted to thank you for your comments on my article on Gail Evans. I have revised the article and, at your suggestion, included a bunch more references. I saw Ms. Evans speak a while ago and was blown away. I was surprised when I saw she did not have a page so I decided to make one for her. I think this is very complete and she is clearly notable enough, as the many references in the article will show. I mean, anyone who has had multiple bestselling books deserves a Wiki page!

Please let me know if there is anything else I should do to get this page published. Thanks!

Erin Entrada Kelly

I was surprised to see that Draft:Erin Entrada Kelly was not accepted. Her notability, as winner of the Newbery Medal is established by WP:RS. I agree some of the sourcing isn't ideal but it doesn't feel worthy of staying in draft namespace, imo. Happy to discuss here (please ping me as I won't be monitoring) or at my talk page. Franklyn Harvey draft page

Thank you for your comment that it should be more in prose than list. However, I've searched and searched in all the help files for beginners and can find no reference to what this means. Where do I find a definition as to what are prose and list formats? bthomson100

The first paragraph of your draft is in prose format but then it continues as a list of events, you need to change the list into normal paragraphs of writing rather than bullet points. Theroadislong (talk) 07:23, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

10:26:28, 6 April 2018 review of submission by Tanya ZQ

Hi, Theroadislong!

In the one of the rejection was mentioned external links in the body. I was re-reviewed and rewrite the content, I deleted all external links in the body and made them as a references. And all links in the body is the Wikipedia links (as I understand these are internal links). The same thing I see in the wix.com wikipage (http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wix.com) and others. So, I can't understand where is a mistake with external links? Could you please help me in that?

Tanya ZQ (talk) 10:26, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

The last decline was because it reads like an advert, sentences like "The main advantage of an online website builder is that it is quick and easy to use, and often does not require prior experience" is pure marketing puffery and has no place in an encyclopaedia. Theroadislong (talk) 10:50, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

what source was unacceptable to the notability standards? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Csulaguy (talkcontribs) 23:42, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

Your draft Draft:Douglas Clay has two sources one of which is a blog, blogs are rarely considered reliable sources, you have given no indication of what makes him notable either. You will also need to declare any conflict of interest. Theroadislong (talk) 12:35, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

I have completed the improvements as per your suggestions. Are we good to go?

Can this be published now? Let me know if we're all set! Thank you for your assistance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stayluxus (talkcontribs) 05:10, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

09:32:08, 8 April 2018 review of submission by NativeSonofMichigan

Can you give some specifics to strengthen the article? The limited references we have because of lack of digital articles during certain sections of Mr. Cobbs life

NativeSonofMichigan (talk) 09:32, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

References don't have to be online they can be newspapers or magazine articles. Articles on Wikipedia must be adequately supported by reliable sources so that information can be verified, but we only summarise what reliable, independent published sources have to say about a subject. If there are no such sources then we cannot have an article. Theroadislong (talk) 09:38, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

Why did I get declined. I left a reference — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rocker6633 (talkcontribs) 18:56, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

User:Bkissin declined your draft the second time for the same reason that I did, the source you have included does not demonstrate that the subject meets our guidelines for notability, normally, this is done by showing that the subject has received sustained in-depth coverage in reliable secondary sources. Theroadislong (talk) 19:04, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
Dude, I left a comment on the article. Look at the article for Devil (Shinedown song), the first single from that album. Just publishing an article with one sentence is not what Wikipedia is here for. Additionally, linking to the video is nice, but it doesn't really add anything about the song.

Now, on to the issue of references. When you want to cite information from a source, you either go up to the Cite menu on the top of the page, or wrap the URL (website) around <ref>Like this</ref>. Then at the end of the article, put {{Reflist}}, so that the article would create a list of the references you cited. Do you get it? Bkissin (talk) 20:22, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

Edits on Decorative Arts Society page

Hi, I had edited this page to explain the full work of the society, which is a charity. This should be useful for people wishing to obtain grants from the charity, so it was not intended as promotional. I also corrected the Chairman, which has changed from Lord Briggs. I am not paid by the charity, but I voluntarily help them with text on their website. All the information is also on their website. All the edits I did were reverted. Can you explain what needs to be done to make them acceptable? DAS Webeditor (talk) 15:39, 9 April 2018 (UTC)DAS Webeditor

Gerard Hopkins "influence- Erotic" material removed

To Whom It May Concern: The information under "Influence- Erotic" for Gerard Manley Hopkins was removed because there is no substantiated evidence of the assumptions made by the sources cited. The authors of the material are operating on 21st century assumptions and judging language of the 19th century outside of cultural norms of the time.

If the person who has added this can find a breadth of evidence that does not operate on insinuation and assumption, then yes, the material under Influence-Erotic should stay.

Otherwise, this can easily be deemed defamation of character, which is as valid for the dead as it is for those who live. Thank you.

I simply want more evidence than a couple opinions of people who clearly write with an agenda. I am pretty certain his descendants would agree. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arkfriend (talkcontribs) 15:49, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

Deletion of Page: Oramed

Hello Theroadislong. I am writing to you as per the instruction on my deleted page. I am brand new at this, so I apologize for the mistake I made in my created page, and for any future mistake I may make - even in this talk page. These wiki rules are very confusing.

I created the page http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Oramed I should not have published it, I tried to save it as a draft pending further reviews. Is there a way to have it re-instated in draft form (or sandbox) so that I can fix it accordingly?

I tried to use notable sources, as per the instructions. What I chose as notable was probably viewed by you as promotion? If you have any feedback about how to achieve this balance please let me know.

Also, I wanted to make a Paid-contribution disclosure - but I did not get to do that as the page was deleted so quickly. Please let me know if the page can be re-instated so I can fix all of the above.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mumcheh (talkcontribs) 11:24, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

You would need to talk to the editor who deleted it who is User:Boing! said Zebedee. Please also read WP:42. In short: Wikipedia has essentially no interest in anything that a subject says or wants to say about itself: it is only interested in what people who have no connection with the subject have published about it, in reliable places. I see that you find everything I type totally wrong for wikipedia's standards. I do not publish things anywhere else. Only in the page of eucen because I know this association well. Everything I write are facts and is true. Please, can you tell me which part of the article makes the flipping box appear at the top? I would like to understand it so I can modify the text and make it 'wonderfully perfect' for wikipedia. If you are so kind to tell me what is wrong with the article, I will try to mend it so we can remove the box. And in the case you feel I should be blocked, please go ahead. I can live without this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CARMEROYOPASTOR (talkcontribs) 15:58, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

Not vandalism

Hi - a hasty note to say that some comments I'm pleased you deleted from the Teahouse weren't vandalism, but rightful annoyance and extreme and utter frustration expressed towards me in the heat of the moment for an error I'm beginning to realise I almost certainly made in accusing a new editor of using copyrighted text. I'm looking in to what happened, and will have to apologise to them personally later tonight. Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 16:57, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

If you had read the change properly, you would have noticed that it was a factual correction.

The EBR (which incidentally Kyckr has a direct connection to via the JFSC node in Jersey) - has a list of approved distributors. I posted the official link to the official distributors from the official website. I removed the incorrect link to Open Corporates which is not part of the EBR and has no connection to the EBR.

Edwardadoyle You added an external link to the "See also" section that section is for Wikipedia links only, the link is already in the external links section. Theroadislong (talk) 16:40, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for reviewing my article on Alan D. Kelly

Hello Theroadislong: Thanks for reviewing the Alan D. Kelly article. I knew the references were weak, but, being a newbie I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm unsure if my client (Alan D. Kelly) has anything more substantial, so this article may go no further. In any case, it has been a pleasure getting to know Wikipedia. And thanks again for your time. BillPaarlberg (talk) 16:13, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

What is significant coverage?

Thanks for reviewing my draft of "Ravcharan Singh Brar". The references used are of India's premier news agency. The person in question has significant coverage as it can be seen from innumerable news articles about him and his work. What would constitute significant coverage because when his name is typed on google then his personality is widely covered in the state.

Thanks in advance for an anticipated reply..... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Karambeer2194162 (talkcontribs) 17:04, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

The draft has three references which only mention him in passing, we need in-depth coverage about him not just mentions. If there are "innumerable news articles about him and his work" please add them to the draft. Theroadislong (talk) 17:07, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

In order to demonstrate notability, you need to provide multiple references to in-depth articles written about "Adi Mutluluk" in unrelated, independent journals, magazines, books or online. If there are no other sources then we can’t have an article. Theroadislong (talk) 15:39, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi Theroadislong,

I appreciate your help with my draft Wiki page for CLX Communications. I have been working to remove the advertorial tone, using the published Wiki pages of other cloud communication providers as a guide in terms of tone of voice, how phrases are worded, layout etc.

Could you have a look at the latest draft and let me know what you think please?

Also, you asked me to declare my COI status - could you tell me how I can do that?

Best regards,

LewWilliams

Request on 18:50:26, 16 April 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Thomasamcgrady

Hello,

I am trying to distinguish that there is a difference between traditional standup paddle boarding and touring standup paddle boarding. It is important because the traditional version of the sport and touring aspect are almost not the same sport after the evolution of design and uses. Touring is very user friendly and almost anyone can participate; traditional SUP surfing is very complicated and the layperson my not know the difference unless a distinction is widely available on the internet. Please reconsider your decision or offer me advice for getting this message across while accurately telling the history and some of the big names of the industry's direction change.

Kind Regards

Reliable sources question.

Dear sir, (Thyeroadislong) Thank you for all your service into the Wikipedia encyclopedia. Information is a real power, and with good information, the opportunity to share knowledge can empower society. With the aforementioned in mind may I present a question for you in response to the comment which you made. You said and I quote. Comment: If you do decide to contribute to the article please be aware that blogs are NOT reliable sources Theroadislong (talk) 17:21, 16 April 2018 (UTC) Regarding reliable sources, for almost forty years I have been correlating original sources from historical documents between 1800 and 1861. The original source information is from libraries, court documents, public domain books, and original preserved letters. When I present a statement or written point of view it is at all times backed up by at least one original source document. The information is presented in the form of a scanned document via the internet, which when clicked upon displays the original source materials from historical documentation. I am concerned as you say that blogs are not reliable sources! I have presented the information via a blog as this appears to be the most convenient method of sharing direct original source information. Question are you saying that the information should be shared via a web page as opposed to a blog web page?

I look forward to your response, as my desire is to fully learn and contribute to the Wikipedia system.

Thanking you in advance.

MikeWilkins (talk) 05:58, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

You are over complicating things, we only summarise what reliable, independent published sources have to say about a subject. Letters for example would be considered primary sources and not acceptable. We don't need scanned copies of anything, please read WP:REFB for help with correctly formatting references. None of your Wordpress links work for me so I can't verify what they show? Theroadislong (talk) 09:15, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

No The article doesn't sounds promotional , the article when created was deleted by one of the moderator so I've done lots of clearification to 2 moderators then atlast I was given green Signal the Moderator gave me the Draft for resubmission of article for review, so I kindly request you to publish the article it is not use for any promotion, my kind request to publish it, if you needed further clarification you can visit my talk page and 331dot talk page where I've given all my clarification for Article, please let me know if you needed any edits in article or needed to remove any line,Kind Regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vnk414 (talkcontribs) 11:02, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

Terms like this are VERY promotional "world's most followed aviation Blogger" "He is Air traveller and flown almost with 200+ Airlines with over 150 Aircraft types and flown almost over 3,000,000 miles" "Sam has traveled to more than 100 countries to pursue his passion in aviation and travel" "Chui is the world's most established aviation and luxury travel influencer, blogger, and published author" none of this puffery is sourced. Theroadislong (talk) 11:08, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

Sam Chui

So I needed to remove those lines so that the article could be published? Justin Ross Lee is a traveller simialr to him Sam Chui is also a traveller, he is created a important place in aviation by his own struggle and I'm not getting any payment or compensation for that or neither I'm working for Sam, I myself have done this Article but I've taken permission from Sam Chui for dreation of this Article, kind regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vnk414 (talkcontribs) 11:10, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

His notability is another matter entirely. Theroadislong (talk) 11:12, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

Air Force Operational Energy

Comments you made on edits to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Operational Energy are unfounded. These changes were directed from the Air Force office itself and simply contain external links to Air Force homepages. The links that were commented as "promotional" are ones that would be beneficial for a user looking for more detailed information about the Air Force.

That's NOT how Wikipedia works, we essentially have no interest in what you want to say about your organisation. Wikipedia only reports on what secondary reliable sources say. Theroadislong (talk) 20:02, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for thanks

The developers were wise in not providing a way to "thank" people for sending thanks (fearing endless loops!) so I have come here. I immediately recognised the person thanking me as the person who had placed Template:Autobiography but it was only afterwards when I looked further that I saw that you had also considerably improved the article (and your removals were indeed improvements). If at any stage I think the template might reasonably be removed I'll say so on the talk page and give you a ping. Best wishes (and thanks!). Thincat (talk) 20:49, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

Institute of Cognitive Science at the University of Colorado Boulder

Hello, and thanks for your comments and guidance. I've added disclosure statements to the Talk tab and my User Page.

And I just read that I need to re-craft the page content to reflect the notability and usefulness of our existence and remove content that sounds fluffy-promotional. I appreciate the feedback because so few USA cognitive research organizations are in Wikipedia, and our lack of presence keeps people from understanding the value of Institutes such as ours and the public usefulness of the research and results that come out of public-funded orgs like ours so it's important that we make ourselves visible and accessible and useful to the wider world.

So I will re-read the links you indicated and edit some more.

We are definitely notable, our research has been shared widely as seen in the citations attributed in the second half.

I am definitely confused about how I can talk about the organization itself without referencing our own website... Or maybe I should just do a couple of links to the website about basic information and let our research citations (everything from the Today show to Nature Magazine) address the notability?

Thanks for your help! Yaz — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yaz at UCB-ICS (talkcontribs) 15:35, 19 April 2018 (UTC)

Wikipedia has essentially no interest in anything that a subject says or wants to say about itself: it is only interested in what people who have no connection with the subject have published about it, in reliable places, which is why you are STRONGLY encouraged NOT to write about things with which you have a conflict of interest. Wikipedia is not the place to " make ourselves visible and accessible and useful to the wider world." Theroadislong (talk) 15:39, 19 April 2018 (UTC)

Suggested ways to minimize primary source citations

Hi again, and thank you thank you for your quick responses and guidance. As I edit Institute of Cognitive Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, for the basic 'about' information, is it acceptable to simply cite our own website information a couple of times, then link key words to the website, and shrink the citations to mostly those of secondary sources that directly address the notable works we contribute to the world?

For this first draft I put in a paranoid number of self-citations so it was clear I'm not making up any of the statements I wrote.

But if the basic 'about' info on the organization is self-evident and does not need citations, that'll cut the primary sources by 20.

Thanks for your advice.Yaz at UCB-ICS (talk) 17:05, 19 April 2018 (UTC)

The article requires no references at all to your institute. Wikipedia really does have no interest in what they want to say about themselves. As you were told at The Teahouse by DESiegel "Notability is never demonstrated by recounting what the subject has said or written, but how others have taken note of the subject by writing about it. Each source must cover the subject in some detail for it to help establish notability, and there should be several such sources, all independent of the Institute". Theroadislong (talk) 17:26, 19 April 2018 (UTC)

SusanSoyinkaYou should read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials but content like this [3] is rarely useable, it is not written in an appropriate encyclopaedic tone. Theroadislong (talk) 14:15, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

SOB X RBE

I beg your pardon but SOB is a group taken seriously it is growing fast. I am sure that the criteria for a sing to be included in a marvel song is harder to fit than a article. People care about this group over a year the group's net worth has became 300,000 dollars and if you live in a country other than the U.S.A then you don't know you king Zach or King Bach are but they still have a page. Even so if I can construct the article write aren't you there to help me do it right instead of making me resubmit every time? You are editors right? Editors edit mistakes and fix stuff. Before me the person working on this article was denied by someone form Africa, HOW WOULD YOU KNOW WHO SOB IS IF YOU LIVE IN AFRICA? So i suggest you help me create my article so know has to do it later. Im sure you get dumb articles often like people writing their own biography so this is way more significant. Please reconsider your actions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nitro21721 (talkcontribs) 18:53, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

I have done what I can but you need to find some reliable sources that cover them in depth or it will be deleted. Theroadislong (talk) 19:47, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

Request on 11:54:04, 23 April 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by MikeWilkins

After receiving good advice from Wikipedia editors in the tea house I have been informed that scanned historical documents (1830 to 1850) are not a reliable source of information. I scanned the documents then placed them into my blog page on my website.

I have been requested or encouraged to represent the information, which I am happy to do once I have worked out the best method. After consideration, I have crossed referenced the points of interest or concern into direct internet links into different websites confirming all the points of interest.

I am thinking of editing slowly the articles which clearly need additional information, facts, and clarification. Perhaps I can present a small edit point into this tea room or some other place so that it can be reviewed by experienced editors before I present it to the Wikipedia page? I am not a one-legged pony, only interested in one article. I have a lot of information which will improve many articles in Wikipedia. Thanking you in advance.

Deletion of Meridian (private aviation company) Submission

Good Afternoon,

As it appears that our submission does not meet your criteria, we feel it would best serve both parties if we deleted this current submission. Unfortunately, we were unaware of several policies that Wikipedia has regarding the submission of its pages. With that said, it would be greatly appreciated if you could guide us in the deletion of the proposed page. Your help has been greatly appreciated and we hope that one day a page for Meridian will be created properly.

Thank You! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Meridianteb (talkcontribs) 18:26, 23 April 2018 (UTC)

The simplest way I think, is for you to blank the page (remove all content) this will trigger a delete request. Theroadislong (talk) 18:38, 23 April 2018 (UTC)

Conflict of interest on the William Branham page?

@Theroadislong: I understand why I am listed as having a conflict of interest on the William Branham talk page, however, what are your justifications for listing User:Eforsund there? Does single-issue editing always result in a conflict of interest statement according to Wiki standards? I think the COI statement should be removed, or you should add a whole lot more editors to that list. I'm sure your intention was not to be biased, but your addition, or lack of additions, seems biased to me. DEvans (talk) 22:05, 23 April 2018 (UTC) *I work for William Branham Ministries
