Tourist Drives

[edit]

Dear Thegwh32

For the Tourist Drives do you think listing it like the other routes will help? (See the section for what I'm talking about - See Northern NSW or Southern Highlands) I think it may but it does clutter up the page. However, due to duplex tourist drives (like 5 or 6), it could work. There are some that I do not know the exact route and I'll leave it as it is. Also, have I missed any routes?

Thent1234 (talk) 05:03, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I don't know enough about tourist routes to answer this question.

Seems understandable, not many remain today that are signed and also, just finished numbering the State Route section. I've also added SR2 because it was partially existed in NSW. Let me know if I should remove it.

Cheers,

Thent1234 (talk) 23:11, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I do believe it was an official state route before 2013. I also think you should only add state routes that existed in 2013 before NSW converted to alpha-numerics. Thegwh32 (talk) 23:27, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

True, but it leaves the others unrecognised. They were also road routes. The reason I wanted Metroads as of 2012 because Metroad 7 kept changing. I'll find out a way that the old one gets recognised too.

Thent1234 (talk) 23:49, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The old ones have no need to be recognised, as current alphanumeric routes are in the tables. I think what is most important was what preceded the alpha numerics, not what was 20 years before that. Thegwh32 (talk) 03:17, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Instead what I'll do is add the decommissioned year in the notes.

Thent1234 (talk) 03:23, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would be a good idea to separate the current and former routes so the page isnt too long. Thegwh32 (talk) 03:26, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, once I finish the table (which may take 2 weeks) I'll separate them into 2 Categories; Active SR at 2012, and SR's before 2012

Hi Thegwh32

See if its better

Thanks, Thent1234 (talk) 04:09, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for consideration

[edit]

Dear Thegwh32

Suggestion for consideration - Keep all tables closed, Reason: So people don't have to scroll up and down the alphanumerics list. Only open what you need. Keeps life easier. What do you think?

Thent1234 (talk) 04:27, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Good suggestion. Thegwh32 (talk) 06:56, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

I'm unable to do this as Wikipedia keeps crashing when I do that

Thent1234 (talk) 07:24, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What will happen to A6 in 2024 (or 2025)

[edit]

Hi Thegwh32

Do you know what'll happen to the A6 once the M6 opens, as if it were to be M6, it'll be like a Queensland thing. (i.e. duplexes, which kinda confused me when I lived there).

Thanks,

Thent1234 (talk) 08:35, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I personally believe a duplex will be unlikely and never happens in NSW. There are 2 theories to this. One is that the M6 gets renumbered, just like the New M5 did. The other theory is that the A6 gets renumbered. A duplex will be very unlikely though. Thegwh32 (talk) 08:47, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Because of this, I'll remove M6 in future road routes. However, a duplex like M12/B12 may happen(if RMS decides to finally complete the Mallee Hwy) as they are more than 1000kms apart (by road, not as the crow flies) and I highly doubt people will give a toss about that.

Thent1234 (talk) 10:57, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An extension of the B12 into NSW is unlikely. Thegwh32 (talk) 10:58, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A32 Barrier Hwy

[edit]

Hi Thegwh32

Should I add crosses different time zone in notes, it's only for A32. I've also created a better archive page for you.

Cheers, Thent1234 (talk) 10:34, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I think no because it only changes time zones after it crosses the border. Thegwh32 (talk) 12:49, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No, Broken Hill is the only place in NSW follows ACST not AEST, I know its strange but thats because Broken Hill is closer to Adelaide than Sydney, according to residents.

See http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Broken_Hill#Time_zone

Thent1234 (talk) 19:55, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting, i think no because the article is about the route number not general facts. Thegwh32 (talk) 05:10, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, and the A31 was signed in error by accident. There's this one on the other side

Abandoning Translusion and ubl

[edit]

Hi Thegwh32

Is it okay if I abandon Translusion and ubl. It makes life harder. Instead, Can we replace it with plainlist and convert. See here for what I'm talking about.

Cheers,

kakaduhwy21

Thent1234 (talk) 04:54, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, if it looks the same, yes. Thegwh32 (talk) 06:18, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The new convert doesn't look the same but similar. Plainlist looks the same. I'll do more conversion now. Reason I really wanted to get rid of translusion is that it rounds it off to the nearest mile, so sometimes 0.9 km will say 1 mile, moronic!

Was SR42 at Blacktown Signed

Thent1234 (talk) 08:00, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

https://www.ozroads.com.au/NSW/RouteNumbering/Deccomissioned%20Routes/SR42/sr42.htm

Thanks, Thegwh32. Should I keep it, it doesn't seem to be well signed.

Thent1234 (talk) 10:02, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you can keep it if you wish. Thegwh32 (talk) 10:37, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Should I keep the SR42

Request reason:

Hello, I have no idea of why I was blocked as this is my first ever Wikipedia account. I would like to know more about why I was blocked. However, as I am accused of sockpuppetry I would like an IP check as I am fairly sure all my edits are from one or two IP's, and no other accounts have those IP's.

Decline reason:

You were blocked based on Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Jermboy27. You will need to address why the evidence discussed there would suggest you have used other accounts if you haven't. 331dot (talk) 08:26, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello, it seems that I was suspected because of my username and editing habits. My editing habits are entirely different from Thent1234's as I use different templates to him, such as the convert template and also keep the tables more clean. If I was his sockpuppet, I would have no reason to not edit a table properly and log on another account to clean it up. Our edit summary styles are also different, as I leave less summaries than him as I only leave summaries when I am changing an incorrect facts. The username is also pretty different, as Thent1234's username references a territory and has random numbers at the end, while my username references a road and my numbers at the end references the road number. Though I do use google maps and street view, I also use many sources Thent1234 doesn't, such as OpenStreetMap. Him archiving my page was something that I never asked for, but was not something I cared about a lot. If you wish, I can upload my search history to prove that I have never logged in to any account rather than this one.

Decline reason:

I don't generally review my own blocks but in this case the account was already globally locked. Rschen7754 03:27, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
