Welcome!

Hello, Tamara Conniff, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

You might also find these policies and guidelines useful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Getting the articles just right can be tricky - but there are lots of people to ask!

If you have any questions, just click on the Contact Me link after my signature at the end of this section. Alternatively, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question.

By the way, when you are writing on a discussion page (or someone's talk page), it is considered good manners to sign your comment... to do this, just add ~~~~ at the end of your comment. That will put your user name (Tamara Conniff) and the date/time at the end (or you can click on the icon when you are editing. Never sign on an article page - only on a discussion page.

There are several ways of getting help:

  1. Leave a message on this page. It is on my watchlist, which means that I can see when the page is changed!
  2. Leave a message on my talk page
  3. Go into IRC Channel #wikipedia-en-help
  4. Leave a message on this page starting with {{helpme}} followed by your question - someone in the IRC help room will be over as soon as possible
  5. Leave a question on the Help Desk or on the New Contributors' Help Page

Your username appears to be a real name. Our user name policy says here:

Use of a real name allows contributions to be more easily traced to an individual. This may make a contributor more vulnerable to issues such as harassment. You should consider the benefits and drawbacks of making substantial contributions under your real name before doing so, especially if you are interested in editing subjects which may be politically sensitive. While it is possible to rename accounts (see Changing your username), a record of the previous name will still exist.

If you are happy with using a real name for your account, then I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! If you would prefer to change your name, please go to Changing your username

I am now going to sign this message with my signature, by adding ~~~~ here: -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 01:47, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Tamara Allegra Conniff requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. —Ecw.Technoid.Dweeb | contributions | talk | ☮✌☮ 18:44, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. That said, if you are in fact the subject of the article, you're certainly notable enough for one. It just needs some tweaking to bring it in line with style conventions. Welcome to the club; it's always a pleasure to welcome an editor with a noteworthy background! --PMDrive1061 (talk) 19:00, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are free to edit the content of User:Tamara Conniff/Tamara conniff during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. ---- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 12:49, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Tamara Conniff/Tamara conniff, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
