There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, If you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 18:27, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I am the owner of Primo's Peppers and the creator of the 7 Pot Primo pepper. I was trying to delete or change the Farmer's Daughter (Preservative) wiki because it is a defunct company using our federally registered Farmer's Daughter ® trademark. I am not out to profit from anything but direct people to the correct information and the correct company. I have been getting a lot of customer enquires about this other carolina woman. I would also like to give folks info on my pepper creation. La Boîte are friends and have interviewed as and collaborated with us. The copyright violation is not an issue, but if you don't like the citation, we can delete it. The tech rules of wiki are new to me, as is programing. I'm sorry if I inadvertently broke the rules. Legally, the farmer's daughter wiki is misleading and seems to be a violation of our federal trademark registration. Thanks Troy Primo

Accept reason:

I've accepted your unblock request with the condition that you follow the instructions I gave you in my response below. If you don't, your account be re-blocked. I've changed your username and will unblock you momentarily. IMPORTANT NOTE: When prompted to log back into Wikipedia, make sure that you enter your new username and not your old username. Else, it will return an error stating, "invalid username or password" (since your old username will no longer exist). :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:38, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there! I appreciate the explanation, but concerns still remain regarding your edits and your intentions here. Your edits do not comply with Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines, and I'm concerned that you're primarily here just to modify the relevant articles that relate to your company in order to primarily benefit your company and not the encyclopedia. Another administrator will review your unblock request. They may set some expectations and/or require you to state that you understand certain policies and guidelines before accepting your request. An administrator will respond to your request soon. Best regards - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 18:47, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Oshwah... I understand. In fact, if it's better for someone outside my company to do this so be it. I mean many major business have wikis and someone edits them. It never occurred to me that you guys have a conflict of interest code. I just hate that the wrong info is out there. How did the original poster make a wiki and include her URL, product info, etc..? Is this something I should take up with her and my lawyer? I was simply trying to eliminate the misleading info, not vandalize a page, etc.. Do you have any suggestions? As the creator of the 1.5 million 7 Pot Primo pepper (the Carolina Reaper ripped me off... Long story), it would be nice to have a wiki on the story. Thanks sir. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Primo's Peppers (talkcontribs) 18:59, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia's policy is that we do not make any kind of edits or modifications to articles where we have any personal conflict of interest with. If we were to allow this, any edits made to articles by users that have a conflict of interest with the subject diminish the quality of the article content, since it's nearly impossible for one to write content that's worded to reflect a neutral point of view.
Instead of making edits directly to articles that you have a conflict of interest with, you can create and add edit requests. These allow you to request another user to evaluate, approve, and make the appropriate edits to the article instead of you doing so. This resolves the issue, since edit requests allow you to request specific edits be made to articles and content in order to fix what's inaccurate, remove problems, or change content - without violating policy. Another user simply looks over your requests and will make the changes for you (assuming they find no issues with your requests). As long as you do not make direct edits to articles in conflict and you create edit requests instead (just follow the instructions provided on the guideline page), you shouldn't run into any problems.
Also, you mentioned in your response about your lawyer and whether or not you should consult counsel. That's entirely up to you and not a decision I can make on your behalf. Please know that Wikipedia has a strict policy against any kind of legal threats being made anywhere on the project. Do not make any kind of legal threats on Wikipedia, or add any kind of comments that contain statements or terms that may be interpreted by others as a legal threat. Doing so will result in an immediate indefinite block on your account. Even leaving comments that contain words or phrases with the intent to cause a chilling effect can be a blockable offense, so it's best to keep any kind of "legal talk" off of this website completely.
For us to get you to the point where you can start making edit requests, I'm going to accept your original unblock request, change your username, and unblock your account. I trust that you will follow my instructions and recommendations, and that you'll keep out of trouble. ;-) If you have questions or need anything, just message me by clicking here and I'll be happy to answer your questions and help you. Good luck, and happy editing! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:36, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Oshwah! Thanks for your detailed info sir. Yeah, I'm probably going to have to request edits and get some advice from you guys before proceeding. I'll read up on policy /guidelines as well. Appreciate the feedback. Oh I was not and will not threaten legal action the site. Gotcha. Take care and have a great day. Appreciate it.
