2024 NCAA Division I baseball rankings

[edit]

I was curious, it appears that quite a bit of manual entry is required for your weekly updates of 2024 NCAA Division I baseball rankings, or have you automated it somehow? Just wondering. It looks like you do a lot of other sports oriented editing, but this is what I noticed. Thanks! rogerd (talk) 20:35, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, it is pretty manual. Although it really isn't that bad when you get used to it. I do baseball, softball, men's and women's soccer generally. Occasionally someone will be slow on football or basketball and I'll fill those in but that's pretty rare so I've got practice. And yep, I mostly focus on sports, its one of the places that I feel like I can contribute the most to. Swimmer33 (talk) 00:05, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Empty categories

[edit]

Hello, Swimmer33,

You created a lot of empty categories a few hours ago. Do you expect them to be filled soon? I'd rather not tag them CSD C1 if you are just going to be filling them with articles over the next hour or two. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 19:50, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Liz, I created them as a bit of a mistake when creating templates for the 2024 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. They will be filled later in the fall with conference tournaments. It seems like sometime during the last year it was mandated that standings templates don't get the category of the season. I realized this about halfway through making templates and stopped adding that category. Then I went back and fixed all the standings templates by removing the category so it was empty. If they get deleted now I'll just re-create when I create the tournament pages at the end of the season. Swimmer33 (talk) 19:56, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'm glad you understand. They can't stay empty for months. But any category that gets deleted for being empty can be recreated either by you, or you can ask me or go to WP:REFUND. Since we have had this discussion, I won't fill up your talk page with CSD notices but I am going to tag the categories now. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 22:51, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I'll create them again later when appropriate. They are easy to do afterall. Also I've had a few things deleted over WP:TOOSOON so I understand the policy behind it. Swimmer33 (talk) 23:14, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
