Speedy deletion nomination of CardLab Inc.
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on CardLab Inc. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Valenciano (talk) 16:53, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
I'd appreciate your input
[edit]Hi Sway. In addition to our policy on promotional material, there's also a significance bar that articles have to meet in order not to be quickly deleted. Articles on subjects that seem promotional often (but not always) are deleted for this reason, and I kind of doubt that CardLab is ever going to meet that standard ... but maybe it will, if reliable sources support it. And even if not ... maybe there's some larger, more prominent business effort that you'd like to write about; I'll be happy to help. - Dank (push to talk) 17:11, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
Conflict of interest
[edit]Regarding your now deleted comments about creating the Cardlab Inc page as an assignment for your boss, please read WP:NOPAY:
"If either of the following applies to you:
- you are receiving monetary or other benefits or considerations to edit Wikipedia as a representative of an organization (whether directly as an employee or contractor of that organization, or indirectly as an employee or contractor of a firm hired by that organization for public relations purposes), or
- you expect to derive monetary or other benefits or considerations from editing Wikipedia (for example, by being an owner, officer, or other stakeholder of an organization; or by having some other form of close financial relationship with a topic you wish to write about),
then you are very strongly discouraged from editing Wikipedia in areas where those external relationships could reasonably be said to undermine your ability to remain neutral.
If you have a financial connection to a topic (as an employee, owner or other stakeholder), you are advised to refrain from editing articles directly, and to provide full disclosure of the connection. You may use the article talk pages to suggest changes, or the {{request edit}} template to request edits. Requested edits are subject to the same editorial standards as any other, and may not be acted upon.
The writing of "puff pieces" and advertisements is strictly prohibited." Valenciano (talk) 17:17, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
