Information icon Hello, SupportezLesFADH. I noticed that your recent edit to Military ranks of Haiti added a link to an image on an external website or on your computer, or to a file name that does not exist on Wikipedia's server. For technical and policy reasons it is not possible to use images from external sources on Wikipedia. Most images you find on the internet are copyrighted and cannot be used on Wikipedia, or their use is subject to certain restrictions. If the image meets Wikipedia's image use policy, consider uploading it to Wikipedia yourself or request that someone else upload it. See the image tutorial to learn about wiki syntax used for images. Thank you. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 06:28, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sumanuil, thank you for reaching out. The file I linked does not exist yet. My intention was to reach out to the previous contributor to see if they can create the insigna as they did the others. This is supposed to be a place holder until I can get it. 2601:589:8100:C640:5C11:3699:5769:7941 (talk) 11:15, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There are placeholder images, such as File:No-image.svg. Use one of those next time. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 07:27, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
sounds good. Thank you for the Info. SupportezLesFADH (talk) 12:57, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Patch of the Haitian Army Corps of Engineers.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Patch of the Haitian Army Corps of Engineers.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 06:51, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I drew the image. I have the files to prove it. SupportezLesFADH (talk) 15:47, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that means it's a derivative work. It still has the same copyright as the original. — Ирука13 15:51, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's a Haitian military patch. Haitian law states that images from press releases are not copyrighted, where I drew this from. SupportezLesFADH (talk) 16:06, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Where did you get this information? — Ирука13 16:23, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No, I mean that the images from the press releases are not copyrighted. — Ирука13 16:34, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t see on this page either the word “press” or the word “release”. No other information to support your words. — Ирука13 16:56, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All Ministry of Defense official communication are released on Facebook or X. Secondly, the Haitian Armed Forces has not trademarked the logos, as i help them with their designs. SupportezLesFADH (talk) 17:02, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Logo of the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Logo of the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 12:47, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:FADH logo.png.

This file is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the file description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. — Ирука13 12:49, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
