Hello, SupportezLesFADH. I noticed that your recent edit to Military ranks of Haiti added a link to an image on an external website or on your computer, or to a file name that does not exist on Wikipedia's server. For technical and policy reasons it is not possible to use images from external sources on Wikipedia. Most images you find on the internet are copyrighted and cannot be used on Wikipedia, or their use is subject to certain restrictions. If the image meets Wikipedia's image use policy, consider uploading it to Wikipedia yourself or request that someone else upload it. See the image tutorial to learn about wiki syntax used for images. Hello Sumanuil, thank you for reaching out. The file I linked does not exist yet. My intention was to reach out to the previous contributor to see if they can create the insigna as they did the others. All Ministry of Defense official communication are released on Facebook or X. Secondly, the Haitian Armed Forces has not trademarked the logos, as i help them with their designs. SupportezLesFADH (talk) 17:02, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This file is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the file description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
