Hi,

I note you deleted Human Resource Outsourcing citing "Non-notable. Term is a neologism and content reads like an advert."

The term dates from pre-2000, HRO is a definable subset of BPO, and is a massive global industry. There are professional associations (www.hroa.com) and widely-consumed publications (HRO Today, Human Capital Magazine) associated with the industry. There are also designated professional groups on professional networking sites such as LinkedIn, which number in the tens of thousands of members.

Agreed that the content reads like an advert, I'm happy to contribute a more NPOV if you'll reinstate the article.

Hi! Either you have the wrong title, or you're mistaken - I didn't delete that. deletion log. I've userfyed it for you anyway, the article can be found here: User:Jimbo.a.jones/Human Resource Outsourcing :) [stwalkerster|talk] 02:08, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Happy 10/10/10

Double Ten Day is, really, unrelated—but we don't appear to have a cool pic for this one

I suppose I should've timed this message at 10:10:10 too, but frankly, I can't be arsed. You know how it is.

Did you know... that tenten in Japaense writing are a little wiggly thing, a bit like a quotation-mark, which makes e.g. "ka" (か) into "ga" (が) or "fu" (ふ) into "bu" (ぶ) ?

So, take time out to have a bit of a giggle.

All the best, and 10-10 'till we do it again.  Chzz  ►  08:49, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

HelpMeBot

I am terribly sorry, I have not been able to work on the bot in the last two days since my computer unexpectedly restarted at least 100 times. I just want to tell you that I am going to work on it now.  JoeGazz  ▲  18:32, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Yes yes, I'll be there. I just logged out, but I'll be back shortly. The first time I reviewed it, I thought it resembled a name of a company, but I'll think about it some more. DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 20:35, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, it is the name of a company, but a) that company is in the UK, and the IP is in Nigeria. b) there seem to be quite a lot of folk on the net with that as a nickname. [stwalkerster|talk] 20:39, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Yes it was indeed, my bad. DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 20:42, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Don't worry, happens to everyone occasionally :) [stwalkerster|talk] 21:29, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Help

Hello, it's me Vrysxy from Common, I asked for help yesterday for a coat of arms when you fix it, by removing a black box that was on the coat of arms. So I uploaded the flag using the same coat of arms you uploaded, but for some reasons it has the same problem, with two black boxes, so I was wondering if you could help me :), or tell me how to do it, so I can do it myself in the future, you said you moved the image into the actual document area, and i tried to do that, but the image got smaller... So do you think you can help me this time :D. ? Thank you, here are the two flags that need to be fixed. --Vrysxy! (talk) 15:44, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi! I'll do the first one for you, then tell you exactly what I did, then I'll let you have a go at fixing the other one :) That way, I can confirm it's the same problem, and confirm what I did, and then you can have a chance at learning how to fix this. :) [stwalkerster|talk] 21:57, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
  1. Opened in Inkscape, moved crest to one side.
  2. Deleted everything that was in the file apart from what was part of the crest (there seemed to be a box surrounding it)
  3. File->Document Properties->Page->Fit page to selection - resizes the image to only contain the crest.
  4. File->Vacuum defs - reduces file size a little bit
  5. Save as SVG, upload.
Should be all you need :) [stwalkerster|talk] 22:23, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Volunteering for ACC

Hi Stwalkerster! I was recently talking to User:Chzz about wanting to help out at ACC. He suggested that you might be willing to tutor me at ACC until I get the hang of it. So … would you mind showing me the ropes at ACC? Thanks! — SpikeToronto 17:57, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi! I'm maybe not the best person for the mentoring, given the amount of IRL work I've got going on at the moment, but I can try. If you want to get involved, you need to create an account at tools:~acc/acc.php, and have a good read of the ACC Guide. It's probably a good idea to hang around on IRC too - we have our own IRC channel at #wikipedia-en-accounts on Freenode - irc://chat.freenode.net/#wikipedia-en-accounts webchat - you can ask any questions, or ask for guidance through a request there. I'd like to think that everything is in the guide, but unfortunately that's far from the truth, but a lot of the important stuff is in there - the most important thing is probably to ask if you aren't sure about anything, or want a second opinion or something. [stwalkerster|talk] 18:37, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice. I’ll start by studying the guide! Thanks again! — SpikeToronto 19:01, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
