Greetings,
I noticed that you had created Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Minilogue to contest the proposed deletion of your Minilogue article. Without getting into the details of the article itself, there were a few problems with how you went about this.
- The article had not been nominated for deletion under the formal Articles for deletion process. The deletion tag on the article is a "proposed deletion" tag, or "prod" for short, which is a less formal process for articles whose deletion is considered less controversial. The procedure for disputing the deletion of a prod-tagged article is simply to delete the tag and to provide your reason for doing so in either the edit summary for that edit or on the article's talk page.
- That said, if the prod tag is deleted, but someone still thinks the article doesn't meet Wikipedia's guidelines, they can still nominate it deletion under the more formal process. If they do so, they would be the one to create the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Minilogue page, and the AfD tag that would be applied to the article at that time would include a link to that page. As it stands now, nobody who reads the current article would even know that the AfD discussion page exists unless they also kept track of the AfD logs separately.
- Also, new nominations would be placed on the log page for the current day. You added the AfD discussion page to the log from three days ago. The only reason I noticed any of this is because that day's log was still on my watchlist after nominating another article at that time.
All that having been said, I do agree with the one who tagged the article in the first place. As currently written, the article does not show that Minilogue meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines for musical groups. Please read these guidelines, and then if possible please provide references to show how the group meets these guidelines.
I hope that this explanation hasn't confused you. If you have any other questions feel free to ask me. Thank you for your time. --Finngall talk 15:50, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hallo Finngall, thank you for your information and help. So, may I made a mistake in that kind like I cited the history of Minilogue. I haven't much wiki-experience but it's clearly for me to respect the references and in the future I'll take care more intensive.
- On the other side the reason of Proposed deletion in my oppinion is unjustified. I'm sure that Minilogue fullfills the WP:MUSIC. The rationale I wrote on the talk page. If you mean it's not enough, it was fine if you gave me some help, what I have to do to explain it. Best regards Steffen Boewe 20:26, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Steffen Boewe. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Steffen Boewe~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
