Module:Location map/data/Spain

[edit]

Hello Plastikspork,

I am writing to ask you to modify the topographic map of Spain in Module:Location map/data/Spain, with the new file in which the entire country appears (including the Canary Islands). Until now, this Spanish region was omitted, but the Balearic Islands were included, though both regions have the same category. Thank you!! Lopezsuarez (talk) 23:44, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Lopezsuarez, sure, I have updated the relief map. Are the Canary Islands in the exact same place in both the relief and non-relief map? If so, we could add some more logic to make it work for locations in the Canary Islands. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 20:25, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That's great! Well, the ideal would be to be able to locate towns and geographical features of the Canary Islands on these maps, but technically it may be complicated. I know that on some maps of the United States... Alaska and Hawaii appear in a box and can be located, but I don't know if this can be done with maps of Spain.
If you know how to edit vector maps (.svg) perhaps this file could be improved so that the coastline of the Canary Islands is the same as that of the mainland.
If this is not done, there will not be a problem either, because it is fine this way. Thank you very much for everything! Lopezsuarez (talk) 10:59, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-retired??

"This user is no longer very active on Wikipedia", yet has made over 500 edits so far this year, and we're only a week into February. Seems active enough to me. wbm1058 (talk) 15:45, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe so. We shall see. Back in 2009 and 2010, I was averaging over 40,000 edits per year, but last year it was only about 5,000. I generally don't edit on weekdays anymore, but I guess things could change. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 15:57, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this was probably a bug in the only PerlWikipedia library when the connection was interrupted while reading the page. I should check to see if there are any more massive edits like this in the bot's history. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk)
I just ran the task again and no massive removal of text, so I am assuming either the bug has been fixed or it was a very rare one-time glitch with an interrupted connection. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 16:08, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Right, I reviewed the bot's other edits made around the same time, and it looked like a one-off. Lucky timing on my part to catch you on a Saturday! wbm1058 (talk) 19:53, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
