Seriously, what should i for this article to be approved?. You see, this is why Wikipedia loss their author much. I really have no time to waste here. Firstly, the source is reputable and to be "direct" she's my BF so i know all that is true.   • Actually, Zuhdizuhdi is the one having trouble reading and understanding the editing guidelines and policies of Wikipedia. IF indeed he/she had read through it or the Welcome section, I'm sure that he/she would know that Wikipedia isn't exactly the best place to put up a biography of a living person and even if Zuhdizuhdi is as he/she had claimed to be the "BF" of Shahida, it instantly becomes a Conflict of Interest problem. Note also that Wikipedia does not accept original research (per Wikipedia:Neutral point of view policy) as it is not a blog or social networking site. Zuhdizuhdi, you still have much to learn and understand about Wikipedia, learn also to see things from untainted eyes. Otherwise, we become no different from being a mouthpiece for other people. --Dave 1185 01:31, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Just some friendly advice

Hello! I noticed that you asked some factual questions on the War in Afghanistan talk page a few months ago, and I know you realized that that's not where you're supposed to ask questions. Did you know about the Reference Desk? It's the place on Wikipedia where you can ask factual questions and others will answer them, or help you find the answers. Just thought you might be interested in case you ever need such a thing in the future. Hopefully it can help. I wanted to move an article from the Wikipedia talk namespace to Keisha, so I moved the article already there to Keisha (pornographic actress). Then I realised that now there was a redirect that stopped me from moving Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Keisha (name) to Keisha, and an IP suggested CSD to remove the redirect. Pineapple tarts! Yum! I found a Malaysian supermarket near our house, so mostly I'm happy... even got frozen durian leh. ACC: Graphics7wp

Hi Sonia. I noticed that you had a problem with creating the above account.

Following further checks, it was decided that the account was not in fact a username violation, so I have created it, and e-mailed the editor to let them know that the account was created.

Although the email address is connected with a blog (graphics7.wordpress.com), this is itself is not a reason for a decline. If the user starts making promotional edits, they can be blocked from editing (and I have them on my watchlist, so I'll keep an eye on it).

I don't know if you have access to IRC, but if you do, you are welcome to join us in the #wikipedia-en-accounts channel, where other members of the ACC team can give advice and help.

The only other advise I would give is to suggest that for a while, whenever you deal with an ACC request, re-read the documentation. I did that for my first dozen or so, and even now, if I'm not sure of something, I'll re-read it!

By the way, don't be put off by this - most of us make mistakes to begin with (my first two were both mistakes!), but you have people to chat with (on IRC) if you want advice and assistance!

When you've done all your checks, and think the account should be created:
  1. Click on the blue Create! button - a new window will open
  2. Do not fill in the password fields. Just make sure that the user name and e-mail addresses are filled in (do not change them!) and untick the "Remember me on this computer" box - and make sure that 'Ignore spoofing checks' is unticked (you can't use that at the moment anyway).
  3. Click on by e-mail - Do not click on Create account - which is what I think you did wrong before.

Also, do not take a request if it's in the Flagged user needed section, only if it's in the top Open requests section. Flagged users are those who have a bit of experience and have asked for (and received) the account creator user right.

With regard to IRC, see if you can access it through java.freenode.net - you just go there, choose a Nickname (using the one you use on ACC might be useful, but it can be anything you like, including your user name here) - and then type wikipedia-en-accounts for the channel - then just click on connect. That should work for you.

Anyway, we look forward to seeing you in IRC when you can get it sorted!

No, the form said "username blocked for promotional reasons" or something like that, after I clicked "by email". So I went back and closed it as violating policy, because that's what the form said... Now I"m really confused.

I've never seen that message before - and it allowed me to create the account with no problems. If it happens the next time you try to create an account, don't click on "Upolicy". Instead, leave a comment (further down the page, type it into the space and click on 'Quick Reply' and then either click on 'Break reservation' (in which case someone else will deal with it), or 'Defer to flagged users'. If you manage to get access to IRC, then you can ask there instead!
In IRC, we see when a request is made, when it is reserved (or dropped), when a comment is added to the request, and when the request is created/refuse. If you break the reservation (or defer to flagged users), then someone in IRC will take up the reservation - reading any comment you may have left!

Ah yes, my chameleonic signature. Well, the font and text stays the same, only the colour changes. I use the switch parser function to change the colour each time I sign. It's quite crafty. It's based on various colour changers I've seen on userpages. Come to think of it, you could use in just about anything that uses colour. Oh yes, I forgot about that! This part gives the time in NET and uses the time parser function to give the correct signing time. It shows the same time as the time stamp. Anyway, the switch function takes an expression that outputs a number, finds the parameter that matches the number and then uses the parameter value as the output. If it doesn't find anything, it outputs the default value. This is what it looks like.

Here it is set with mod 10, so it will values from 0-9, but this can be changed. In my case I use mod 68, giving me 68 different colours for my signature and that's pretty much it. Indeed! It is good stuff. Another example is the auto updating service awards template. This one has parser functions pouring out the ears! Here, the switch function changes the award style through the format option. There are probably some wacky ways of using it. I see you've now put the colour changer on your userpage. It does make it a lot more colourful now. However, you will need to purge the page in order to see another colour. This can be done by adding a purge link. I guess I should know how the auto updating service award template works since I created it. I made it to go alongside the service awards revamp and got the idea after discussions about auto updating the awards. It looks like it's catching on amongst those who display edit awards. Yep, I figured you have to purge it, but didn't know there was a specific templatey thing for that.

Indeed you can. In fact, all the service award templates have caption customisation. It's one of those little known secrets of the service awards. Also, if you wanted to create a self updating banner, barnstar or other item, you can use this template with image, editor or award as the first parameter to get the self updating part. However, getting the text on the service awards template to self update with a custom caption was really tough, but it was extremely satisfying when I finally got it working as can be seen from the edit summaries. The purge template isn't the only one. There are: edit, history, watch, talk, oldid, 2 show diffs, 2 link pages, 2 edit sections and probably a whole lot more! That one's trickier. The only information I cna find about a Kayla Whale is actually covered, right here at Wikipedia, at Kayla_(whale)#Kayla, but it is about an individual animal, not a species. In this case, all the sources given I'm able to resolve talk about Killer whales, and not about a "Kayla Whale"... whatever that is. I'd let this one sit for now, but would be ready to decline it at the 24 hour mark- I'm 65% sure it's deeply problematic. (Given the biology specialists on Wikipedia, imagining a species of whale we don't have an article on somewhere is rather difficult.) Courcelles (talk) 09:14, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

I think so too. It's gotten ridiculously hard to run for admin now; I can think of several users who would make good sysops but won't try, because it's just too difficult.
