Kuala Lumpur article

[edit]

Hi Slleong, I noticed your edits to the Kuala Lumpur article and just wanted to remind you to read Utcursch's suggestions above, especially Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not.

To simplify it, please try to contribute facts and try avoiding placing opinions in the article (e.g. "Kuala Lumpur's rail-based transit system is probably one of the most chaotic in the world."). And also, it would be better if content in articles are in paragraph form instead of point form (unless needed).

Anyways, welcome to Wikipedia! --Andylkl (talk) 11:32, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Multi-licensing maps

[edit]

Greetings -- could you consider Wikipedia:Multi-licensing your excellent KL maps under a Creative Commons license, so they could also be used on Wikitravel?

Also, were the maps created as GIFs, or do you have a larger original copy? The resolution is too low for printing. Jpatokal 04:09, 13 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for agreeing! Just add {{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}} to your home page to make it clear, and maybe you could also upload the Illustrator originals somewhere? Jpatokal 01:11, 17 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Klmonorailmap.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 08:48, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nice work on rail-related Malaysian articles, with good references to boot. We'll need all the help we can get. :) - Two hundred percent 11:35, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. We need more votes to determine which article we gonna collaborate on for November. So please vote. And can you add your name to the list of project members so its easier to locate all participants. Thanks! White2020 (talk) 14:16, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ausralian borders

[edit]

You have caught us (WP Australia that is) out there - with the category - as there appears to be no adequate article to tie in yet - and some of the material is not clear enough - please note that at least 4 main australia articles (geogoraphy, states etc) have no sections about borders at all - so there is a bit of catchup to do - also because we have EEZ's we also do not appear to have adequate article material about the recently enlarged eez (at least i havent caught up with it yet) - cheers SatuSuro 05:47, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies - there is no real problem - there are simply things that link that will take time to organise - but hey thanks - some things are lacking on some aspects of border issues that need to be addressed - so thanks anyways! SatuSuro 13:45, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

But am completely mystified by putting the timor gap treaty as having anything to do with indonesian boundaries SatuSuro 02:55, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good to hear from you and true - my mistake in relation to the baove comment - there are a few bits and pieces that need cleaning up between the articles when the merge happens - and yes im in good company - a bit like the current president of the big one saying border relations between canada and mexico have never been better if you can get the ambiguity of that one :) SatuSuro 09:15, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mn with a sense of humour like that you deserve some accolades - looking forward to our work on the tasmanian timor boundary article :) SatuSuro 09:36, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wow - I think you might get someone check it out and say that the sea treaty article is too much literal rendition and not encyclopediac - but hey amazing work anyways! SatuSuro 07:05, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikisource is a better place but copyright issues might be a killer SatuSuro 03:23, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Malaysia border lengths

[edit]

I noticed that you have corrected Malaysia's values in the List of land border lengths. Could you please site your sources on that page? All other countries' values are from the CIA World Factbook. I'm not sure why Malaysia's values are so different. --Lasunncty (talk) 22:33, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Timor Gap Treaty

[edit]

Do you have a link to the text of the treaty? I note that you have put the treaty text into the article. There's more, right? cheers --Merbabu (talk) 04:07, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The text of the treaty is at http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/other/dfat/treaties/1991/9.html. Moondyne 07:21, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CMAT

[edit]

Firstly, my apologies on two counts. I mistakenly assumed it had been copied without checking it out more thoroughly, and the link I gave wasn't the CMAT text, this is (which probably should be linked to from the article, by the way).

I am still slightly concerned however in summarising and paraphrasing the treaty to the degree that you have - a reader may, like me, assume the treaty is as you've styled it in your summary. With utmost respect to your good-self, you may have missed some subtle nuance in the wording. Such interpretation may (I say may quite deliberately) be a violation of WP:OR. I am not a lawyer, perhaps you are. Regardless, it would seem to me that as an encyclopaedia we should be presenting things such as these in summary style prose rather than a section by section summation of the treaty clauses. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this. –Moondyne 11:24, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PS. I know what I'm trying to say but aren't sure that I've explained my concern clearly. –Moondyne 11:24, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Its fine. Perhaps one way to look at this is to ask "who is likely to read it?" Probably not your average Joe, but more likely a semi-technical type who might look for a semi-technical-legalese type article. So, in the interests of moving on, and as its not my field or interest, I'm happy to give it my blessings, for whatever that's worth. Regards –Moondyne 00:22, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Coins of the Hong Kong dollar

[edit]

Please see the changes I made to Coins of the Hong Kong dollar. You uploaded a large number of non-free images and placed them in a table. The images lacked a proper fair use rationale; they lacked a proper licensing tag; and the inclusion in a table/gallery is usually forbidden in our guidelines WP:NFC. I have thus removed those images, and tagged the ones that are now orphaned for deletion. If you have questions about my actions, or about how we use non-free images on Wikipedia, I'd be glad to assist you further. Thanks. -Andrew c [talk] 15:28, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The file File:Kula Lumpar transit map.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned map.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~ Rob13Talk 03:25, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wini, Indonesia moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Wini, Indonesia, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello, Slleong,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Onel5969 and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Wini (disambiguation), for deletion because it meets one of the relevant criterion. The particular issue can be located in the notice, that is now-visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to prevent the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click Publish Changes button.

But, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the raised issues. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Onel5969}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Onel5969: Hi, thanks for your message. The only reason why I created this page was because there was an earlier redirect for a Wini page to Wine (bishop). I know it seemed tenuous but since it was already in existence, I though to just create a disambiguation for the new Wini, Indonesia page which I created. For that page, I will build up with more materials and verifiable sources shortly. I have no issues with the disambiguation being deleted. Slleong (talk) 02:00, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Bus companies of Hungary requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Information icon Hello, I'm Trainsandotherthings. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Street running train, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 23:22, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Trainsandotherthings. Thank you for your edit on the content that I added and your explanation. While there are numerous photographic and video evidence of street running in Solo, I understand that a citation of a source is required. I have found an article specifically on this. However, it is in the Indonesian language, which I read and speak, and by a local Indonesian news website Tribunnews.com. Here is the article [1]. The article contains photos of the street in question, with trains running on it with road traffic. As mentioned above, beyond this article, many photos and video clips can be found in the web. I hope this citation is sufficient to back up the content that I added. Thank you once again. Slleong (talk) 15:08, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Note that pings will not go through unless you sign your comment in the same edit as when you add the ping. I saw this because your talkpage was temporarily on my watchlist. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 21:52, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Trainsandotherthings, thanks for the tip. I haven't been sending messages much. Slleong (talk) 03:40, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
