Disputed fair use rationale for Image:WildTangent Logo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:WildTangent Logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:42, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Replaceability

Hello! I noticed this edit you made to Image:Opera logo.png, changing the "Replaceability" field from "No" to "Yes". All copyrighted official logos are considered irreplaceable on Wikipedia, and this irreplaceability is a vital component of the image's use rationale. So, please do not mark copyrighted official logos as replaceable in the future. —Remember the dot (talk) 04:04, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

I was hesitant to edit a user page, but as it was written that it was going to be re-written soon I decided I should even if I could be considered rude. I hope I didn't make you feel bad! English can be very confusing, but please be bold when using it and don't worry if you make mistakes - mutual intelligibility is more important than grammar. If you have any questions about the language, I would be happy to help.

If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chase wc91 22:54, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

November 2009

Please remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Source information for file:Word 2010.png

Hi, Tuanese

The file you've uploaded, File:Word 2010.png is missing appropriate source information. The source information just has your name in it. However, in Wikipedia, the source information must be sufficient for reproducing the uploaded image.

Please modify the source information and add necessary data. For example, if you've found the image on a web site, please add a link to the web page in which you've found the photo. If you've taken the screenshot yourself, please mention it, along with the version of Windows Operating System from which you've taken the screenshot. If you've used a specific application to take the screenshot, please mention it as well. (Now, I'm sure this screenshot isn't just taken by pressing PrtScr on the keyboard.)

I don't want to sound unfriendly but that's how things work here: Images that lack enough source information are speedy-deleted. So, I though I'd inform you before tagging the image. Fleet Command (talk) 11:38, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

Why do we need a release history - we do not generally have release history pages so what is special that this needs to exist. And who requested it be brought back? Where is the discussion on that?

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 09:02, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Windows clipping

Windows clipping always uses the "gray" border, which is NOT the default theme of WIndows7 (Sky blue). --Tyw7  (Talk • Contributions)   Changing the world one edit at a time! 09:20, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Until you find an ACTUAL reference for that album and post it on the page, then it will be marked as unreferenced and will be deleted from the page. I'm simply doing what is supposed to be done. Telling me to look at the album page is not enough. Don't argue. 96.250.1.76 (talk) 06:29, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Re Can you tell?

Yes. I viewed that article only because I had been alerted to an ambiguous link that was very recently added. I immediately noticed as well, that you had incorrectly changed the text-case of the existing genres and added another (dance) which was also an ambiguous link. This is usually a good indication to look more closely for possible vandalism, and make a decision whether to revert, or fix an edit that may be viewed as nonconstructive or disruptive by the article's regular contributors. Even though I decided to simply fix the problem that first brought me there, I was unsure whether I had just tweaked another user's unwanted edits. Appearance wise yesterday's version looks much better to me... but this is strictly visual, and has a lot to do with your change from "wikitable" to "tracklist"... which formats HORRIBLY when viewed on some computers (like mine), and is not always a universally welcome change. Regards. -- WikHead (talk) 18:37, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

No, I didn't say that you did vandalise, but your edits did contain elements of some of the warning signs I see often while both patrolling recent changes and disambiguating links. I frequently see a lot of edit warring, vandalism, and accusations of vandalism (false or not) amongst users in regards to music genre changes... more so than any other hot-topic across the entire project. There are some users in fact, that do nothing but jump from article to article changing music genres, and often leave behind a long trail of broken and/or ambiguous links as they go (i.e - linking to "pop" a dab-page, rather than "pop music" the music genre). Personally, I usually don't care what genres are posted on an article, as long as the links work. The trouble with this however, is when someone changes a working link from (let's say) "R&B" to an ambiguous link like "hip hop". Sure, I can easily fix the link by changing it to "hip hop music", but if the first user's change is considered disruptive and has to be reverted back to R&B by another user, then my "good faith fix" wasn't very productive at all. Sometimes it's better to revert the ambiguous changes rather than unknowingly getting caught in the middle of contributing to disruption. Either way, I usually only find these articles because of non-functional links, and have to decide whether to fix or revert, because it can't be left the way it is. This is not to say that I'm pointing a finger and calling you a "WP:GWARRIOR", but because I knew nothing about the article's topic (never heard of Vanessa Hudgens until today), it was very difficult to determine whether "that" and the rest of your other edits would be warmly accepted by the major contributors of that article. Then again, if it WAS an article I was regularly involved with, I likely wouldn't appreciate your change from "wikitable" to "tracklist"... and neither would many of the other users. As a Firefox user, you are unable to see the ugliness caused by "tracklist" when viewed in many other browsers. Just compare these two screen-capture images, and you'll quickly see what I mean - yesterday's version (before your edits), and today's version (after your changes). "Tracklist" tends to leave behind a lot of nasty whitespace. I've seen many complaints about this while browsing talk pages, but to my knowledge, nobody is interested in addressing the issue. Anyway, my apologies are in order for being so wordy... but you asked ;). Have yourself a great day, and happy editing! -- WikHead (talk) 22:04, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

File:IgglePopLogo.png

Hi , why do you want to delete this picture? File:IgglePopLogo.png Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:00, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the answer, I expect that you can hang off deleting the logo until you have a boxart to replace it, as the logo still looks good. My approach is that you can have a logo for a product or company, if there is no other non free content to identify the item. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:07, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Glee/Taylor Swift

I have seen the standard and deluxe covers for both albums you are referring to. Please see WP:OSE. Neither the deluxe covers for Fearless nor Showstoppers should exist on Wikipedia. They do not convey any extra information that could easily be conveyed through text, thus they both fail WP:NFCC#8. They are essentially the same covers but with different colors and extra text added. –Chase (talk) 20:07, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Keeping unnecessary cover might not make the record label/graphic artist happy however. We have to respect copyright laws. –Chase (talk) 03:14, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
