The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Information icon Hello, I'm BusterD. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Horses in warfare, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. BusterD (talk) 02:17, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is the encyclopedia anyone can edit, but since it's been here a while, we require sources when you insert new material. Horses in warfare is regarded as a particularly well-written (A-class reviewed) article, so one should expect pushback from the regulars if you muck up their previous version with unsourced material. BusterD (talk) 02:21, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for my mistake, I should hope that it would not happen again and I will try again at a later date with more citations. ScottishHistoryBloke (talk) 02:23, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Don't let me spoil your worthy attempt. The work itself looked good. Glad to have you here! But I remember the first time I edited that page and was quickly reverted (for much worse than what you added). It's difficult to improve a page once it's gotten really good, but easy to mess it up, so to speak. Nice to see you working and if I can be of any help, please count on me. BusterD (talk) 02:46, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for keeping all information accurate on Wikipedia, next time I try to improve a page I'll add my sources. Thanks for the offer to assist in future Wikipedia edits, if I feel the need I will contact you. Have a good day. ScottishHistoryBloke (talk) 21:14, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
