Sup, I was just wondering why you deleted my research when I clearly had the links to refer to. It was from an article I found from the internet and it clearly said in the interview that he did do some Rock and Roll Stage antics during many of his shows.

I'm kinda new to the whole editing for Wikipedia so i'm sorry if you thought it was spam but I really think that my research on the subject (cause I saw it on Youtube first, wanted to make sure before I edited) has gone to waste.

If you could somehow reverse it and help me verify my sources, I'd be deeply obliged.

Watch what you're doing

Before you go about blindly reverting and reformatting, please read the page. You changed every usage of "Imagin" to "Imagine" at List of Kamen Rider Den-O episodes saying it was a "Vandalism spelling." In the context of the show, Kamen Rider Den-O, Imagin are the monsters that are fought, and it is spelled as "Imagin" by the production company. You then undid a translation claiming "user is crufting page." I don't understand what that's supposed to mean, but I want you to watch what you do. Ryulong probably came off the wrong way in leaving a message to you, but I'm sure he means for the best. The misspelling could've tricked anybody, but there really was no massive IP change as you say. However, Ryulong could've surely left a more polite message, and in turn I'm sure you would have left a polite reply. This conflict needn't be spread any further. Whoa there Scarian, did you look at the edit history involved or just jump the gun here. To point you to the facts; first I reverted the edit when I realized that this was not vandalism as noted here [1]. Second, after I reverted my edits I “Apologized” to the editor involved as noted here [2]. Before accusing another editor of racism best get your facts straight by reviewing the edit histories involved and look at the individuals edit history you are accusing of this, as per Wikipedia policy before make this type of allegation. Okay, my apologies, it may not have been you that put the racism there in the first place, but you did put it back in saying: "this is not vand." What the hell is that? You put the "black child is a nigger" back into the article. Why? Apart from not being written properly, what purpose and context does it serve? First of all my apologies Scarian I should not have come off as having the higher ground. In re-reading the edits made, I too jumped the gun! Yes, you are right, in that my reverts do come across as racism, and sorry to say I now have to explain why. As you noted, my first revert would have been appropriate in that it eliminated the sentence in question and if you look at the edit history on the page of 72.53.69.26 as posted here [5] you will notice I gave him/her a final warning for the edit. However, something made me rethink the warning and the post and I went back and reviewed the article. Sorry to say the category just under the area I edited was the paragraph on DJ Khaled and to be honest, thought his/her edit was an explanation on the term nigga. Thanks for getting back to me on my page. I believe the problem is lack of user ettiquette on their behalf. I think the problem may be that they dislike British English or that they have deleted some thing else and simply left it to look like that on the history. That said I should be being more careful with my edit summaries as nothing has changed from my last edit. Unsure what to do about it so I guess I leave it. They seem to be having an edit war over there so possibly possesivness. There was a comment in the epiloge about the Simpsons which was invisable so it is possible they have deleted that with out seeing my previous proof reading edit in that area of the page. Not sure why I am not in bed really although I could ask the same question. I spose my reason is cronic insomnia and possibly some thing else. I noticed from above that they had deleted a invisable comment from the epiloge which I didn't delete as it was funny and I wasn't sure if it was true or not. Have not had any probs yet as I mostly back down and leave them to it plus don't edit busy pages like Harry often. Not worth rowing about. Although things like the previous revert are annoying. Hi again; apologies for the late reply (busy RL with my kids off school!). Firstly I should mention that WP is probably not the best place for this, as your questions don't relate to Wikipedia. That said, I'll answer here as best I can, although if you want to follow up it might be better to use the 'email' link on my user page ;) OK then, here goes:

The obvious (and least helpful) answer is "join up and find out" - but in all fairness I won't leave it there ;) There's also the caveat that my experiences will be different to other people's experiences, but I can hopefully give you a general flavour as to how it was for me. I joined the Royal Corps of Signals, which is a technical corps and the largest in the Army (at the time in the late '80s/early '90s around 13,000 strong). This meant that there were good prospects for promotion and a wide variety of postings, normally to a signal squadron attached to another unit to provide communication facilities. A high proportion of signals soldiers (called 'scalies' or 'bleeps' by everyone else) are technically qualified experts; many even hold scientific degrees. Most soldiers are though now - the days of unqualified knuckle-draggers are long gone, except maybe in the paras ;)

You'll probably already know about the technical aspects of army life from the brochures, so what I'll do is describe it from a more personal POV. What I mostly remember from my Basic Training is long days, short nights, endless physical training and permanent aches, pains and tiredness. I spent an inordinate amount of time washing and ironing kit (usually last thing at night when it eats into your sleeping time) then getting it dirty again the next day. You quickly develop the ability to catch up on sleep when you can - a ten-minute kip on your bed between activities can make a lot of difference ;) There were quite a few times when I honestly wanted to quit, such as on stag (guard duty) in the small hours of the morning on a 3-day exercise; tired, cold, dirty, wet, smelly and bored. British soldiers have made an art form of taking the piss, and Army humour is very dry, sarcastic and can be pretty abrasive about everyone and everything. One of the most common whinges is all the 'bullshit' - this covers everything from pointlessly polishing boots every night only to have them wrecked by 0700 the next day, to being 'beasted' by the troop sergeant for some minor thing that wasn't your fault (but don't try denying it!), to trying to get replacement kit from the quartermaster (usually a 45yr old warrant officer who reached his promotion ceiling 15 years ago and hates his job). The pay isn't great, but because all expenses are deducted at source most soldiers have nothing to spend it on except beer and sweets (yes, squaddies eat more sweets than schoolkids!). The bad times tend to be really crap, but the good times are great - you make very close friendships because of the shared adversity, much closer than anthing you'll find in civilian life. To get lyrical for a moment, as a soldier you are one of the chosen, and have the feeling of belonging to a tradition and organisation much bigger than yourself. There's an army saying: "There's only three types of people: civvies, soldiers and ex-soldiers"... it's true.

Talk page archive bots is a topic I'm not familiar with. Even when I was a logged user I always arch'd my own talk page manually. My regional weather has been amazing and Wiki has been losing out to my bicycle. Since I have your attention... could you add List of heavy metal bands to your watchlist. Twice today I've had to rm a fancruft favourites list... loosely attempted as a unreferenced "Influential" list. It's cruft... pure cruft. Lists are already full of that. Perhaps you could better expalin your objection to my edits of the translation. I don't think that any of the words I used detract from the meaning and each of them more accurately translate the Old English. "ahof" is the past tense of "hebban", meaning "heave" and so should be translated "hove". "gasric" is an alternate spelling of "gesarig" meaning "sorry" rather than "sad" and "greut" is "grit", like on sand-paper. "twoegen" is an alternate spelling of "twegen", meaning "twain." "foede" means "fed" rather than "raised." And finally, Latin "-caestri", with the meaning of city or fort, exists in English as "-chester" as in "Worcester" and "Manchester", or in the diminuetive form "castle."--66.191.239.22 18:53, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

People remove things on Wikipedia all the time and I'm sure many of the things removed were thought to be necessary by someone. That's why it's Wikipedia. It can be changed. Articles will be changed. If Wikipedia doesn't want random people editing articles, then perhaps it should look into only allowing a few people it to edit it. Also, it's not just common knowledge to me. Google Michelle Kwan and those events will pop up all over the place. Talk to any figure skating fan about what an editor said needed citation, it will be very common knowledge to them. Go to USFSA figure skating website and search Michelle Kwan. Again, those facts will pop up. So it seems like those facts are very common knowledge available in a variety of sources. Please delete your message as I have read it already. Everytime I go to a page on Wikipedia the alert is there and it is annoying. You want to put the tags back in. "Hung out"

Just saw your edit(s) on Nirvana, I think "hung out" is just as vague and, perhaps, too informal. It is a colloquial term... Might I suggest a substitute for "hung out" is in order? Scarian^Talk 20:45, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

I don't think "hung out" is that bad. If you can find a suitable synonym, I'd be okay with it - but I don't think one exists. (Not that it matters, but that phrase survived the FA process.) "Were present" doesn't come close - "Hey, what'd you do at Bob's house? Oh, we 'were present'." "Loitered" is probably the closest, but has unacceptably negative connotations. I'll look and see how Azerrad described it in Come As You Are (which is the source for that statement), but I honestly don't see any overriding reason to change it. -- ChrisB 21:13, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Don't worry, I've removed the edits from the article. The entry was really rubbish and very messy. This article has probably got more hits now that there is more publicity surrounding the Beckhams, so Wikipedia can't run the risk of the article looking really shabby. Your advert article got turfed.... good job! 1 crappy useless article gone.... 1,283,567 useless/crappy article left on Wikipedia to go. Have I ever mentioned my disdain for "Wiki-inclusionists"? I just want to say thanks alooooooottttttttt for your vigilance on wiki entries..... I never talk on the userpages and i hardly ever edit but I was very thankful when I noticed your efforts of going through pages to correct them (ESPECIALLY colloquial terms, nothing can ruin an article quite like slang. Using the terms 'diss' or 'beef' [or any other type of slang] immediately begins to portray that an article was written by middle-school preteens). Keep up the GREAT work!!!

Naturally slang is informal seeing as it's used in a colloquial setting, sweetness. I stated that I prefer not being greeted with 'sup', as I dislike the informality. It was not a rant. I actually spent a fair bit of my time trying to help you cite sources and be a better contributor. Sometimes, people like yourselves make me doubt whether I should help people. And that's not a good feeling, "brother". I'm not a "nerd", neither am I an admin. "Douchebag"? What's a douchebag? And pisses you off? re: Wiki-faith and the AGF bandwagon

You're seeking strength from a foul-mouthed librarian/Motorhead fan :D ??? AGF is a harsh wiki-rule to follow. I've been here a long time. My own personal AGF is stretched so thin it holds no water. Daily I have to "backspace" many harsh edit summaries and replace them with standard policy quotes because of my ever growing AGF impairment. I diligently cling to the AGF bandwagon by my fingernails and hope I can maintain for another day. It's easy to SAY just forget about it and move on. But it's not easy to actually DO that sometimes because you're trying to be dedicated to all aspects of the project. But.... in the end... you just have to forget about it. If you are dedicated(and I believe you are) you will be here a lot longer than any of the vandals/spammers/pov'rs and soapboxers that come and go here everyday. If you have a bad experience with an editor... you can be fairly sure that the troublesome editor will probably not last too long and you won't cross paths with them again in the future. I get nasty remarks left on this Static IP talk page every now and then. I simply remove them with the edit summary "back under the bridge with ye" and move forward. It's not as easy when you are a 'login'. You have an identity here and a "virtual personality" so an insult becomes more direct and personal as well. I've certainly been there. By the time I rejected my user account to become an anon my userpage had been vandalised by over 100 users. Some of them were multiple repeaters who would come back to Wiki every three months with the sole purpose of vandalising my page. I learned to AGF, to maintain dignity and civility... and to just walk away. The positive experiences more than outnumber the bad ones. And that is why I am still here. Have a nice day and... My main guitar is a 1977 cherry Gibson SG. I bought it brand new when I was in high school. It's been my favourite guitar for almost 30 years. I also own a late 90s white Gibson SG which I've modified with all new hardware and EMG pickups. I have a 1968 sunburst Fender Telecaster and an Epiphone Casino. I've had the Tele for about 20 years... it's a great guitar. The Casino was my first guitar. I got it a few years before I got the '77 SG. It's an amazing guitar too. I've had ESPs and Jacksons in the past but they are more like novelty guitars... I prefer older model classics from Gibson, Fender, Epiphone and Gretsch.. etc. For amps I have an ancient 4x12 HiWatt cabinet that I got around the same time as the '77 cherry. It came with a Marshall head which I didn't like too much. I bought a 1974 HiWatt custom 100 head around 1982 and have used it ever since. I have a couple of smaller amps too. A Fender Vibrolux and a Vox AC30. The Fender is the best all-round amp I've ever owned. But, like I said before, working in a quiet University library all day... when I go home I want volume. And the HiWatt will peel paint off the walls. It's a fun toy. I play a lot of small clubs and coffee houses on free weekends but that is usually acoustic stuff. Folk, Country-blues, Celtic... etc. I have a couple of acoustic 6 stings + a 12 string... all handmade by local Canadian luthiers. I also have a banjo, a mandolin and a mandola. They're all fun to play. When I plug in and play the odd club it's usually 60s-70s hard rock stuff... Cream, The Who, The Stones, Zep, Floyd... jam band stuff like the Allman Bros... a mish-mash. I've played in punk bands, I've played in country bands, I've played in thrash/speed metal bands, I've played in blues bands... This can only be fixed by an administrator, and I have marked the John Dunstaple article with {{db-histmerge}} to request that it is fixed. I declined to delete & removed the speedy notice from the article on George Wittman. Please read WP:CSD -- the criterion for speedy deletion is not claim of notability, and saying one is a police chief of a large city is certainly a claim to notability. He probably is notable for WP purposes, not just claiming to be, but the article could certainly use more exact references. If you wanted to improve it, that would be very helpful. thanks for the heads-up

I've had problems with that particular user for quite awhile. They don't seem to grasp policy or guideline very well. I believe they may not use English as a first language.or if they do that simply aren't very capable with it :D . I've already got my admin friend Wiki alf helping me with a couple of other articles that are being crufted out of shape. I can't ask him to help on this one. I will keep an eye on it and try to clean it paragraph by paragraph. Thanks for twinkle-toes rv's on it. Editing is one thing. I am well known(strange for an IP eh?) It would take an awful lot to get me blocked. If you are trying to contribute in a positive way, following edit policies and, in turn, rm'ing poor edits that ignore policy.... you won't get blocked unless an "all high n mighty" admin privilege abuse happens. Even though it would be insatiably difficult to find a source for it: Dave Grohl can be seen playing piano on the 'Times Like These' Acoustic [version] video. One can assume that he did play piano in the song. If I find a source I will add it back in, is that okay with you? Scarian^Talk 20:51, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Being unsourced is only part of the problem. The real issue is notability. Cobain played drums on "Seasons in the Sun", but that doesn't mean that we can count that as one of his instruments. Cobain is not regarded as a drummer; Grohl is not known as a piano player. (That's why it's been kept out to date.) Anybody can sit with an instrument and poke notes - it takes more than that to be regarded as a player.

BTW - if you want to open up either of these subjects on the relevant article discussion pages, it's fine by me - I like having a broad range of opinions when it comes to content changes (ie, I don't always have the right answer). -- ChrisB 21:13, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Listen mate, go ahead, involve an administrator. Otherwise read the references I provided in the article and you will soon discover that not only am I correct in the article, but whoever wrote the article on HCA is also right. A simple google will give you many more references should you remain unconvinced. (BTW, I hope CNN is independent enough for you). Well, I spent hours finding sources for so much of the stuff that wasn't cited, which most definitely should've been cited. But he keeps adding silly little tags, without reading sources, claiming that the sources don't verify the info and whatnot. But generally, just to keep an eye on it, he has a habit of blanking info from articles with no explanation. And adding tags where they're not needed. Really, the article does need some cleaning up, and i've tried to do a little while doing all the sourcing, but only so many hours in the day, ya know? Anyway, thanks for whatever you can do, Cheers!
