Well, it appears in the latest IFT tables; the article says that it's off the air, a "was" rather than an "is". I thought I'd allow you to decide. By the way the IFT AM template (your baby) needed a space between pdf and infraestructura (sp). It works now!!!Rudy2alan

Oh thanks. As to XEDA's on-air status, I have no clue. I mean, XENET-AM is still in there, XEDJ-AM (on strike for years) too, and then on the TV side there's XHK which is likely done for (the primary casualty of the analog shutoff). Raymie (tc) 00:07, 29 April 2016 (UTC)

Acceptance of new articles

I'm curious about something because you're so prolific when it comes to creation of new articles; do you have the ability to do self-approval? I'm asking because many of the articles (especially for stations outside the U.S.) have very little information and are accepted. I think you'll remember when I tried to create XEOY-AM and you took over; I had more information and references than many of the articles which have been accepted. I questioned User:Kikichugirl why this was and she didn't give me a straight answer. Two others users, User:Newyorkadam & User:Origamite also rejected the article. Can you give me some insight about what I did wrong? When someone recently tried to have one of your article deleted (XHQC-FM), I enjoyed seeing the comment that "it's better to improve an article than delete it", or something like that. Rudy2alan

If you have an account, you can create your own articles right off the bat. Additionally I have a fairly obscure user right called autopatrolled that means my articles are automatically marked as patrolled. I was awarded the permission in 2010 because another user found me on new page patrol and I had created 100 articles. At the time I was creating stubs on high schools in Arizona, though the permission comes in very handy for the Mexican radio articles. (If you look up you'll see an instance where someone didn't know about this permission.)
Additionally, I use a tool called wikEd that allows me to do find and replace operations on wikitext. Since I go by state, then by frequency, it allows me to quickly change cities, frequencies, and parts of callsigns as necessary. Most of the writing is about the concession histories which I have to reconstruct from the documents. Raymie (tc) 18:52, 29 April 2016 (UTC)

I think XHLX-FM might be a combo (95.1 & 700); it's listed as such in the current IFT tables. I'll allow you to make the change if appropriate. Rudy2alan

If the station is an eventual migrant "Cambio de frecuencia de la estación", I won't write it as a combo even if they are still on AM. But I did for XHUF-FM because it was one of about 80 combos authorized in 1994 - "Es frecuencia adicional de la...", it will say in the tables. Raymie (tc) 18:20, 1 May 2016 (UTC)

It does say "combo station" in the far right column of the FM listing.Rudy2alan 20:08, 1 May 2016 (UTC)

"Cambio de frecuencia" means change of frequency. "Es frecuencia adicional" means it is a bona fide combo. Raymie (tc) 20:52, 1 May 2016 (UTC)

Got it - thanks!Rudy2alan

I'm finding several sites which indicate a "La Comadre" format in Hermosillo on 102.7 FM; could it be that XHDM-FM has changed from "The Mix" format to "La Comadre"? [1] Rudy2alan

That appears to be the case. Of course they're both ACIR formats. Raymie (tc) 16:36, 4 May 2016 (UTC)

Someone made some big changes to XEMO-AM on May 10: frequency change, format change, removed the logo, changed the sister stations. Could this be vandalism? Or maybe a case of someone not knowing the facts? I found out because of a notice that the logo was abandoned.Rudy2alan

I dunno but I just basically reverted the whole thing. There is a 1590 La Bestia Grupera in BC — XEHC Ensenada (--> XHHC). Raymie (tc) 18:59, 14 May 2016 (UTC)

This person has done a similar thing in the past, with no explanation for the changes.Rudy2alan

Could you please take a look at KTKR? Someone changed the format and even removed the infobox!! I put the infobox back in the article, but am not sure how to undo the other changes. The previous website shows the station to still have a sports format. Thanks!Rudy2alan

I rolled back to the March revision with one change, adding a story about one of the station's main hosts being cut. Raymie (tc) 14:21, 16 May 2016 (UTC)

DYK Israel Beltrán Montes

I added a few suggestions on your DYK nomination for Israel Beltrán Montes if you want to take a look. Mainly, the wording of the hook should be changed for concision and clarity. Amgisseman(BYU) (talk) 20:51, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

Do you think the corporate Los 40 logo (without an individual station city or frequency) is acceptable when nothing else is available for each station?Rudy2alan

@Rudy2alan: It's done in TV but there aren't as many individual articles on, say, Canal 5 stations. You might want to ask someone else on that question. Raymie (tc) 23:52, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

I think it's Romantica 102.5 (formerly 1010) now?? You can change it or confirm to me that it flipped formats. It would be one fewer "Los 40's".Rudy2alan

@Rudy2alan: Just listened to the stream. It's clearly Los 40 even though the information is out of date. If you look at the Radiorama stream page, it shows two Románticas — someone needs to update something. Raymie (tc) 22:47, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

BIG changes again for KTKR (unbelievable!!!). Why are they doing this? The website is still "760 The Ticket".User:Rudy2alan

We have a big vandalism case here. I'm going to put in a request for protection. Raymie (tc) 23:01, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

Someone even modified the logo File; they added a "760 Gospel" logo (which I removed).User:Rudy2alan

I saw that... The logo is actually the logo for 760 AM WENO in Nashville. It's on Commons but needs to be moved to enwiki as it is a fair use item. Raymie (tc) 23:14, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

Hopefully, it's over now that 760Rebel has been blocked.Rudy2alan

I added a logo (found on Facebook) for XHWS-FM. Before I do any more, I'd like your take on this logo....do you think maybe it should be the logo found on [2]? I know you said before you may not be the best one to ask, but just a casual opinion would be o.k. Is there another user on Wikipedia you think I could solicit for an opinion?Rudy2alan

I have no idea at this point. It may take some time for the logo changes to propagate across all the stations, but that is one weird-looking 40... It's not even the old official striped one. Raymie (tc) 18:34, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
@Rudy2alan: I took another look. Is it for a special event perhaps? You need to be careful because station promotions sometimes mean changed FB logos... It doesn't help that Radiorama has no national website anymore (some of the clusters do because Radiorama is ridiculously complicated). Raymie (tc) 21:04, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

I moved that logo out of the infobox and to the left side of article; I also identified it as an "unofficial" Facebook logo. Then if it does turn out to be the official logo, the file will not be deleted. Rudy2alan (t)

KTKR May 19, 2016

Well, it happened again this morning, under a different i.d.! This person doesn't want to give up. 12:35 central timeUser:Rudy2alan

Well, does this logo look authentic? It's from their Facebook page. It has the new "Los 40" and the frequency.Rudy2alan

Yes. It's a little big as a Facebook cover photo though. Raymie (tc) 18:40, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

I agree, and I could have shrunk the sides after I downloaded it to my computer. I'm don't know how to reduce the size after it has been uploaded (to Wikipedia).Rudy2alan

I'm not going to bother right now. While I have you here, I'm gonna make a couple suggestions, mostly to put a space between the end of your comment and the ~~~~ you use to sign it. That'll also put the time on your comments, too, like it does for me. Try it out! Raymie (tc) 19:13, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip; I didn't realize that! Here goes! Rudy2alan (t) 22:08, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

Someone (without an account or explanation for the edit) removed the logo for XEBG-AM. Do you see justification for that edit? User:Rudy2alan (t) 11:13, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

It's just more disruptive editing by the long IP (frequency changes etc.). The short IP, who is helpful on northern Mexican radio articles, did most of the cleanup. I'll take the rest. Raymie (tc) 18:10, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

Wow, what confusion: The logo says 10,000 watts of power, then next to the logo it says 100,000 watts of power, and the IFT (shown in the infobox) says 15,000 watts. The logo also has the "E" removed from the callsign, and of course there is a station with the XHPQ-FM call letters. Tell me if you think I should put the logo in the infobox, or will it just confuse? User:Rudy2alan (User talk:Rudy2alan)

She's a doozy alright. They've managed something fairly common: the "We Migrated to FM and Forgot Our Callsign Changed and Added an "E"". It's actually ridiculously common. References to "XHCU" in Sinaloa (XHECU-FM), "XHOA" in Oaxaca (XHEOA-FM), etc. The problem is that most combos are straight-up changes of XH for XE, but not all (then you get to the special ones like XHPYM-FM, XHMET-FM and my favorite XHESCC-FM where it's not an E, it's something else). I use a rate card listing from Media Vyasa as a resource for radio station information. It's just as bad. "XHOB" for XHEOB-FM. Then you get to the power levels... I know some stations quote different ERPs than the IFT, notably the Radio Centro FMs (and XHMVS) which have long boasted "120" kW ERP, and XHQRO-FM which claims 100 but is quoted for 48 in tables. Raymie (tc) 03:50, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
As to the remaining FMs without articles, they are:
  • XHSCC and XHITG in Chiapas. They are owned by the same mysterious permitholder and I believe them to be operated as part of Radio Núcleo, but they have next to no web presence and until recently I even wondered if they were on the air.
  • XHLCE in La Cruz de Elota, Sinaloa; XHMVM in Maravatío, Michoacán; XHPER in Perote, Veracruz; XHUET in Huétamo, Michoacán. New noncommercial stations, none of them on the air, with only one that I have any idea about ownership.

2016 Wikimedia Foundation Executive Director Search Community Survey

The Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation has appointed a committee to lead the search for the foundation’s next Executive Director. One of our first tasks is to write the job description of the executive director position, and we are asking for input from the Wikimedia community. Please take a few minutes and complete this survey to help us better understand community and staff expectations for the Wikimedia Foundation Executive Director.

Thank you, The Wikimedia Foundation Executive Director Search Steering Committee via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:49, 1 June 2016 (UTC)

Their web presence is minimal, and might not show their full logo, but the one which I added to their article shows a slogan of "Tocando tu corazón". I found the one which I added on Logopedia and Facebook. Rudy2alan 12:06, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

That's most definitely a slogan a Christian-lite station like XEBJB would use. My attention is elsewhere right now so I may be less than active. Raymie (tc) 18:48, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

The DYK project (nominate) 12:01, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

I have a little issue with an LP Canadian station; I put up an infobox and someone reverted it, claiming that it is overkill. Is there really such a thing that an article can be small enough that it shouldn't have an infobox?? I'm kind of doubting that. That person is User:KnifeWrench23. Thanks! We came to an agreement that the infobox would stay! Rudy2alan 23:19, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
