Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Please do not push POV on Wiki articles. It is not allowed.

Hello. You are not allowed to push a Senegalese POV on Wiki articles like you did here here, here, here , here, etc., see your contribution history. The modern day countries of Gambia and Senegal did not exist at the time, and the editors were right to refer to the historic region as Senegambia, and not Senegal. Please familiarise yourself with the history of the region before removing content. To refer to the region as Senegal, means the modern-day nation of Senegal existed at the time which would be historically incorrect. Yes, some of these kingdoms/articles are now related to the modern-day nation of Senegal, but present-day Senegal and Gambia are modern inventions. Please refrain from doing that. I'll try to undo the damage you've done to Wiki articles which will take us a lot of time to manually do each article affected. 140.228.73.76 (talk) 03:20, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. It is you who does not know our history and wants to dictate it to us. These edits are not my opinions but our history and because you don't like it you forbid me to share them by blocking me for no reason. What I have edited concerns us Senegalese and the history of jollof which has nothing to do with Senegambia but your intention is to falsify our history. What gives you the right to block me and decide about our story even though you are not from there? What gives you the right to dictate to me what our history may or may not be? What gives you the right to forbid Senegalese to edit pages concerning their country by blocking them? Samcool344 (talk) 12:48, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I did not block you. You were blocked by an administrator. the modern day countries of Senegal and Gambia didn't exist at the time. The people lived in kingdoms in precolonial Senegambia (which is the region) - for example the Kingdoms of Jolof, Sine, Waalo, Saloum, Baol, Cayor, and Baddibu, etc. Most of these are now in modern day Senegal (except Baddibu which is in modern day Gambia). To use the term Senegal for a precolonial event/article would imply that the modern day countries of Senegal and Gambia as nations existed, which they didn't. Further, parts of Gambia was what was known as Lower Saloum. Upper Saloum was in present day Senegal (at Kahone). Please try to study the history of the region before you push POV. I see you've been indefinitely blocked, but it was not who blocked you. 140.228.73.76 (talk) 21:04, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Doug Weller talk 12:37, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
