Warning other users

[edit]

Hi there. I've noticed that you've been quite ambitious with your warnings, but I'd like to make two suggestions. First, it might be best to avoid modifying the warning templates (e.g., by adding boldface phrases of your own). You don't want to alienate or infuriate users who might otherwise have turned out to be harmless or even helpful. Second, it's probably best to start with a level-one warning, unless the vandalism is absolutely, blatantly malicious, in which case there is a special template to use. I realize, for example, that this user made a troublesome deletion. But the deletion could have been a test or an accident, and since the person didn't even have a history of vandalism, a level-three warning was probably a bit extreme. Remember to assume good faith, and remember that, as mentioned on the warning page, even "user blocks serve to prevent further vandalism rather than to punish bad users." The same may be said of warning templates. Cosmic Latte (talk) 12:26, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a reminder

[edit]

Hi SamB135, just want to remind you to sign your name with four tildes (~~~~) when leaving warnings (or any other message) on talk pages. Also, I notice that you're interested in fighting vandalism - you might enjoy using Twinkle or a similar tool. Cheers, faithless (speak) 19:27, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Template creation

[edit]

Hey Sam, I wanted to ask you about some of the templates you created. I already deleted Template:User VandalismCrackdown as it seemed redundant to another one that you made, but‎ Template:User Crackdown‎ is still only one line of code. If you don't intend on doing anything with it, put {{db-self}} on the top of the page so it can be deleted, okay? GlassCobra 03:18, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, great. Feel free to ask me if you ever have any questions! GlassCobra 03:22, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another thing

[edit]

Simply removing good faith posts from your talk page without comment is considered rude and is frowned upon. The Evil Spartan (talk) 04:44, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well actually, I was in the middle of deleting everything there and starting fresh because some comments I do not need for future reference. --SamB135 (talk) 04:50, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, Thanks, and sorry about the whole 'good faith' thing. --SamB135 (talk) 04:58, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
