Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. -- SiobhanHansa 21:54, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption?

[edit]

I see you are requesting some help via the Adopt-a-user program. I've just had one of my adoptees graduate so I have room for one more and I'd be more than happy to help if I can. Leave me a note on my talk page if you still need help. SteveBaker 20:20, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Expatica

[edit]

Hi. I nominated your Expatica article for speedy deletion. As I said on the talk page, the company itself probably merits a page, the problem was the way it was written. As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia's entries should be factual. Your article read about like a press release, with a bit too conversational of a tone. It also seemed to concentrate on advertising Expatica's achievements, rather than factually reporting them. Remember, the purpose of the article is not to drum up more business, it's simply to inform. You really need to concentrate on accurately describing the size of the company, its turn over, number of customers. That kind of thing. Also, and most importantly, you need to provide reliable cites, so we know you're not just making it up. Cites would be things like online newspaper articles about the company. These also help establish the company's notability. Read the guidelines here. Good luck!--Escape Orbit (Talk) 22:36, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Salion! I thought I'd pop a note to you to let you know that I replied in detail about what you should do about this in User_talk:SteveBaker#new_adoptee as a part of my role in the Adopt-a-user project. SteveBaker 13:25, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption?

[edit]

Hi! You asked about adoption - I haven't heard from you since...do you still want to do this? SteveBaker 01:47, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Adoptee!

[edit]

Hi!

I was doing my routine check-up-on-adoptees-whom-I-havn't-heard-from - it looks like you havn't edited anything for about three months. Since it looks like you lost interest, I'm taking the liberty of removing your status as adoptee so I can take on someone else who may have more immediate needs.

If you ever feel you want to get active again - let me know and I can help you with whatever you need.

Sorry it didn't work out.

Hi Salion. I've noticed that all your edits are to promote the expatica.com website. You haven't edited here much so you may not be aware of some of our standards, the link in many cases fails our external links guidelines and your additions look close to Wikipedia's definition of spamming. Adding content sourced from a variety of well respected publications would be welcomed, but promotion of another website in this manner is not really appropriate. If you have any questions about this please feel free to leave me a message at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks -- SiobhanHansa 00:44, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi SiobhanHansa, thanks for contacting me on this. It certainly is not my intention to promote one source; I happen to know a lot about this industry and noticed that this site was missing on a few entries or in a few instances that the url was wrong. The latter is related to the relaunch of expatica.com. I will read carefully through the directions you have pointed me to. Thanks,
