geo-stubs
[edit]Hi Ryan - its a standard protocol. Category:Devon geography stubs is a subcategory of Category:United Kingdom geography stubs so anyone looking in that category can find things by place. if all the uk geo-stubs were also in the main category it would have about 5000 stubs in it, which would make it a waste of time for editors and a big strain on WPs servers. every county in england has a seperate category, and scotland, wales, n.i. and the crown dependencies have seperate categories too. same is true with the states of the usa and autralia, the provinces of canada, and a lot of the regions of france, germany and spain. after all, a place in devon might get devon-geo-stub, england-geo-stub, UK-geo-stub, UK-stub, euro-geo-stub and geo-stub if you carried it to its logical extreme.
double-stubbing is allowed but only if one of the two types isnt a subcategory of the other (like "Dunkirk" might get a france-geo-stub and a WWII-stub, for instance).
if youre interested in sorting stubs then were always looking for more people to help at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting, btw! BL Lacertae - kiss the lizard 21:58, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- Saw your reply, thanks for the clarification. Guess I didn't understand that it automatically cross-linked the stubs. I'm gonna go fix whatever I broke now :-) Ryan McDaniel 00:20, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Concussion
[edit]So on the talk page for Concussion you say you rewrote the intro in order to avoid copyright violation? Well, it appears that you haven't. At least not the sort you were thinking of: [1]
These guys haven't attributed their definitions to Wikipedia, which I think is a violation of GFDL. Should something be done? --84.71.118.198 17:21, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale on Image:040129 exploding whale hlrg 8a.hlarge.jpg
[edit]Hi, I noticed you removed my CSD tag on Image:040129 exploding whale hlrg 8a.hlarge.jpg, and I am utterly stumped. I see no fair-use rationale, only a source. I am usually blind to things which are right in front of me, so I would appreciate it if you could show me where it is - this one has me scratching my head. I've undone your edit for now as I think you may have mistaken the source section for a rationale, but I will not revert it again without discussion if you decide to take it away again. — neuro(talk) 09:55, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Translation of 95 year old philosophy.
[edit]Greetings,
I am trying to get a team together who would finally translate "Sistema di logica come teoria del conoscere" into English. I thought Wikipedia's list of Italian-to-English translators might be a good group to 'hit up' on this subject. If personal assistance cannot be provided, perhaps suggestions or helping point me in the right direction of who might be willing to help? Best regards & thank you. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
