Radial word association

[edit]

The rules for the radial ultra cross game are "identical to the radial ultra game". The rules for the radial ultra game are "The rules are identical to the ultra game, except that the starting point begins in the centre of the box, and words expand out from the centre, associating to all the adjacent cells.". The rules of the ultra game say that you cannot add a word if there is a black space above or to the left. For the radial games this applies to the bottom right area, for the bottom left (where you put your word) there can be no space above or right, the top two areas is are the same, but the gap cannot be below. The only exception to these rules for table games is the psychedelic game, I will make this clearer though. Thryduulf 23:16, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Missouri

[edit]

Dear Rt66lt, I am beginning the process to create a wikiproject for Missouri. in order to do so i'm required to show that there is a base of at least 5-10 people who would be interested in contributing to such a project. the project would serve to aid in the creation and editing of articles related to the U.S. State Missouri, its cities, counties, geography, transportation, culture, history, education, and so on. It aims to expand Wikipedia's resources on Missouri in a fair and accurate manner. Since you're stated as being a wikipedian in missouri, i wanted to see if you were interested. if you are, please add your username at Wikipedia:Wikiproject/List_of_proposed_projects#Missouri and User:Preschooler.at.heart/Missouri. thanks for your consideration. --preschooler.at.heart my talk - contribs 15:55, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow. good work on the unincorporated communities. are you using a bot program? and if so, which one? --preschooler@heart my talk - contribs 04:40, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

bypass route could use a rewording. "an alternate route of a highway that goes around the highway"? not sure what that is (as differentiated from "bypass" in 2nd paragraph). thanks, Ka-zizzlMc 15:08, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:MOMap-doton-Zanoni.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MOMap-doton-Zanoni.png. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:04, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Missouri 122.PNG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sue Anne 23:14, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

US 66 final route

How much do you know about the final (1976-1985) routing of US 66? I've found nice sources for Texas and Oklahoma (and California), but nothing for other states. --SPUI (T - C - RFC - Curpsbot problems) 06:05, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:MOMap-doton-Longrun.png. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Hetar 04:42, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The same map that all of the other cities have on them? Looking at other cities reveals sources simillar to "Modified from a map on Wikipedia." This is unacceptable. Please include a link to the original image, that states who owns the copyright to it. Copyright needs to be verifiable by other editors, to prevent the foundation from running into copyright problems. Thanks. --Hetar 04:49, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

song titles in word association games

[edit]

The convention, at least in the word association games, has always been that song/book/film titles, etc are italicised not quoted. I'll change the entries back to the convention as I spot them when editing the games. Thryduulf 23:14, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know why it is convention, it just seems to be. If you want to enquire further I suggest bringing it up on the talk page, if someone does know that is where they are most likely to see it. Thryduulf 08:16, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Using SVG instead of PNG

[edit]

I've noticed that the files representing the state highways are in PNG format. Most of the files that have been recently uploaded use SVG.

In the interest of changing to the SVG format, I present an SVG version of the state highway signs. Don't forget to remove the cyan guidelines maorking the top and bottom of the characters.

Tell me what you think.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Stars on 45 Medley.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Stars on 45 Medley.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:07, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There hasn't been much activity at WikiProject Missouri or any of its child projects lately, and I saw your name on the list of active participants. If you are willing to jump in again, please consider helping to revive the project:

If you know anyone who might be interested in Missouri (its history, culture, sports, people, places, architecture, etc.), please pass this message along to them! If you are still interested in the project but aren't currently active, please add yourself to the list of inactive participants at the bottom of this list. Thanks!

Hello and good afternoon (at least it is afternoon where I am). I was looking at the Wikipedian firefighters category and noticed that you are one of the members of the Wikipedia community that lists yourself as being a firefighter. First and foremost let me say thank you for your service. While I myself am not a firefighter, I do work as a photographer with multiple local fire departments. I am honored to have firefighters as some of my closest friends.

I have been taking an active role in the Fire Service WikiProject and am trying to recruit more members to this cause. If this is something you have any interest in, please let me know? You can leave me a message on my talk page. Obviously there is zero obligation. An interest can be anything from helping out with a couple of pages in your local area to helping to overhaul major templates, and anything in between.

Once again, thank you for your service. Hope to hear from you soon. Stay safe! --Zackmann08 (talk) 17:56, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Unused. Superseded by File:MO-66 (1948).svg.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
