- Hi I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with an issue?
Yesterday on the wikipedia articles John Egerton, 2nd Earl of Bridgewater and John Egerton, 3rd Earl of Bridgewater, I added the sources to two images of the Earls after a previous editor who had uploaded the images, had the images rightly reverted by another editor as he did not add any sources to back his claims of who they were. I put on the images who the were and where I had got them from, but I saw today that they had been reverted by another editor which I thought was strange as the sourced images were portraits in colour of the two men in question, painted by Peter Lely whilst they were still alive, however the images that they were reverted back too, are two black and white sketches. I was wondering if another editor would be able to sort this issue out as surely a portrait of the men is better on wikipedia then a black and white sketch.
I have just realised that the editor who reverted my edit of the portraits actually added the sketches himself, so I understand why he would want to keep them as he uploaded them as I would have done the same, but its not about what our preferences are, its about which one is better on wikipedia
Many Thanks to whoever responds to my message Royal Courtier987 (talk) 11:35, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
