Welcome

[edit]

Hello, RobertZBrainware, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. To start creating a draft article, just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit that page as you would any other. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. It is also worth noting that Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which specifically link them to one company or corporation. If your username does have such a name, it would be advisable for you to request a change of username.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! You can also just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 22:48, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Request for deleted page text (Brainware)

[edit]

Hi Robert,

Strangely enough, the text has apparently been requested by an other user already (in August). You can find it at User:Quasihuman/Brainware. If you need further help, please don't hesitate to post on my talk page or to put {{helpme}} followed by your question on this page. -- Luk talk 16:10, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Robert, I meant to restore the article after it was deleted in somewhat unusual circumstances, however, real-life commitments meant that I didn't have the time. As you can see above, the text is available at User:Quasihuman/Brainware. If you like, I can move it to somewhere within your user-space so that you can work on it, or feel free to work on it where it is. Note that the article needs some work before it is suitable to be a Wikipedia article, specifically, it needs third-party references (like newspaper or journal articles) proving notability. The reason the article was deleted was because it was felt to be overly promotional, I have removed all of the promotional material to prevent this happening again. If you would like to contact me again, add a section to the bottom of User talk:Quasihuman. Thanks, Quasihuman | Talk 17:28, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:BW Logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:BW Logo.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:05, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Request on my talk page

[edit]

Hi Robert. Re your request to restore the article on Brainware, for a number of resons, I am not ready to move the article into main space. I am not 100% satisfied that the topic is notable enough to merit an article, the additional references you added do not establish notability in my opinion, either because they are not reliable sources according to Wikipedia's definition, or because they only mention Brainware in passing. In addition, I don't have the time to do it now. I should point out that I do not own the article, and anyone can move it into main space. If you would like someone to move it for you, I can submit it to WP:AFC, the reviewers there can check for any issues, and move it when it's ready. I would advise against moving it yourself, as it may be deleted again in its current state. Quasihuman | Talk 21:18, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Bw logo 250x120.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Bw logo 250x120.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:15, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
