A tag has been placed on AlphaCAM requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. 9Nak (talk) 09:41, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, finger trouble on that. I've removed the speedy deletion nomination in favor of a article for deletion discussion, as you'll see below. 9Nak (talk) 09:47, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of AlphaCAM
[edit]I have nominated AlphaCAM, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/AlphaCAM. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? 9Nak (talk) 09:45, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Welcome!
Hello, RhinosoRoss, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created like Licom may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted (if it hasn't already).
There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! You must remember that notability is not inherited; in other words, just because a firm is a division of a notable firm, does not make the division itself notable. If Licom is itself notable, then provide us with some evidence to that effect; ideally, some links to articles in major industry journals about Licom and its role in its industry. There are literally millions of companies on this planet, most of which will never be notable enough to get their own articles in Wikipedia. How is this firm any different? Remember, the typical reader of this reference work will not know this firm; write your article on the assumption that she or he has just stumbled on the name, and wonders who they are and what they do. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:10, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation, I'd thought that people would edit the page to correct it: wasn't expecting all this Judge/Jury/Executioner deletion. I'll try to find proper links to demonstrate the notability better. People stumbling upon anything to do with CAD/CAM aren't likely to be interested; anyone in the CAD/CAM industry will probably already know of Licom and AlphaCAM: my pages were intended as a reference for them and fill the dead links from other pages. --RhinosoRoss (talk) 14:16, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. - Altenmann >t 16:37, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
