Thanks for the welcome ;) DarkLoki 21:35, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

[edit]

Hi. Is this the talk page for a ... "Yuser31415"? Just wanted to say thanks for your inviting message. I guess maybe I should become a member of Wikipedia.

Thank you for reporting him at WP:ANI. I don't know why I didn't do it myself about half an eon ago. Thanks again for taking notice. –King Bee (talkcontribs) 01:25, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion

[edit]

Not to sound mean, but what is up with this edit? You're changing the bullets in my signature to asterisks? –King Bee (talkcontribs) 06:41, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problemo. I was just wondering what was up. However, Konqueror?? Man, you have got to get out of that habit! I hate that web browser with a passion... –King Bee (talkcontribs) 06:48, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yabasic userbox

[edit]

Added it to my userbox, btw the image quality is not so god if you ask me. I you want to change it i have a png version of the logo. DarkLoki 10:46, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is here:, it seems that is has some problems with transparency problems. But does not have the artifacts the jpg logo you used has. DarkLoki 21:00, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks :). Well it's your userbox but if you ask me the image looks like crap. Btw do you like the changes to the yabasic page? DarkLoki 21:09, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank, it would be a big boost to yabasic popularity if it would indeed get featured. The old logo in the userbox has a lot of compression artifacts and looks a bit washed out if you aks me. So i think the png would be better, i also have a gif but i am not sure if that file format is allowed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DarkLoki (talkcontribs)
It makes it worse but the original size is rather small, the png can scale with no artifacts. I have to go but i assure you the png looks much better ;). Don't you think so? DarkLoki 21:39, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well i will have to know the filename of the jpg to know if it looks better :P. The usebox with the png looks ok if you aks me DarkLoki 16:26, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You've made your point, and as I expected, the user did something more severe to earn a new block; now it's time for you to lay off him. If you continue to go after this user, threatening him on his talk page, demanding outrageous blocks, and accusing him of violating policies that don't exist, that's harassment and you may be blocked for it yourself. If there's a new incident, report it to the appropriate noticeboard (such as WP:AN3), and leave it at that. | Mr. Darcy talk 15:52, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I still don't understand why you consider a 1 month block of this user "outrageous." However, I'll lay off him as well, if that's what you think is best. –King Bee (talkcontribs) 15:53, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

(Responding to your note on my talk page.) Understood - I know how frustrating it can be, and sometimes assuming good faith is pretty difficult. I tend to agree with your sentiment that this user is headed for a long-term block, but as an admin, I have to handle this in a certain way, and I think we're doing that now. As I said, keep me posted if he comes back, especially if he violates any of the policies he's violated before - even if it's just name-calling, because now he's been warned quite specifically not to do that. | Mr. Darcy talk 02:04, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They huffed, and puffed, . . .

Thank you for offering your opinion at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:GabrielF/ConspiracyNoticeboard (2nd mfd). Look forward to seeing you around in 2007 at Conspiracy Central! Hi! Yes, those edits are actually me. I couldn't login for a while. In the future, it would be a good idea to assume good faith instead of accusing me of impersonation. Thank you. -- Chris is me 07:38, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Eh, it's no big deal. Have a nice day. -- Chris is me 18:16, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To further clarify my comment on AN/I (I'll just use quotes instead of diffs, since you know what you said and I have a head cold (excuses!)): So, do you believe attack and biased pages should be kept in userspace, especially when they are a possible violation of our 'do not disrupt Wikipedia to make a point policy? I don't think that argument will be held to very high regards by the closing admin/'crat. Yuser31415 03:12, 30 December 2006 (UTC) You said that in response to one of the first userfy votes in the Mfd. It's a little aggressive for a few reasons. It's a bit of an ad hominem attack, since the editor did not say that they believed attack pages should be kept in user space. They said they believed that this page should be kept there. Characterizing their argument in this way is a bit unfair. Secondly you said "I don't think that argument will be held to very high regards by the closing admin/'crat." That's not your call to make, and its unclear to me why you would say that to another user in a consensus discussion unless your intent was to just insult them and their reasoning. I know you're a nice guy and very involved in Wikipedia -- you're just coming across a little imperious in this discussion and that rarely helps matters reach consensus. Cheers. Some advice

[edit]

Just caught this note via my watchlist. I know that you'd like to be an administrator at some point, so let me offer this advice: Watch AN/I and other admins, but don't participate. Piling on a third note to User:SoLongBaby wasn't helpful. And you can see that you're having some issues interacting with other admins. Lurk for a few weeks, maybe months, to get more of a feel for how other admins interact and behave and adjudicate, rather than jumping in on every thread. You clearly care about the project and your enthusiasm is great, but you still have some work to do on learning the rhythm of an admin's role. | Mr. Darcy talk 00:37, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My pleasure. If you see something on AN/I that you don't get, feel free to ask me on my talk page. | Mr. Darcy talk 01:23, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
