Question from Pulp and Paper Science (02:00, 8 January 2025)

[edit]

Hi, how can I create a new article. --Pulp and Paper Science (talk) 02:00, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I would read Help:Your first article. What do you want to write an article on? Reconrabbit 03:54, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Dashes to endashes

[edit]

Hello @Reconrabbit: - thank you for the whitespace and dashes cleanup on Bakewell, Pears and Company. I'm always glad to have some cleanup work on articles. I did notice that at least two of the archived sources now do not work. Is it possible that some web addresses need dashes instead of endashes? If so, I will need to re-archive some references. TwoScars (talk) 18:02, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake, then - I probably changed some information in the URLs that I shouldn't have. Will look back at it. Reconrabbit 18:10, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for reviewing Bakewell, Pears and Company. It is difficult to get people to review articles with over 100 citations—you are exceptional! TwoScars (talk) 19:50, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Hilbert PO Boway (06:37, 13 January 2025)

[edit]

How can I post pictures --Hilbert PO Boway (talk) 06:37, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You can upload pictures that you hold the copyright to (like a picture of yourself) on Wikimedia Commons. Though I would be cautious. Since it looks like you are writing about yourself, please read this page: Wikipedia:Autobiography Reconrabbit 14:29, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Fk Kreativity (22:58, 13 January 2025)

[edit]

Hi. How can I write an article on Wikipedia --Fk Kreativity (talk) 22:58, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You can read Help:Your first article to find out how to do this. I recommend that you spend some time doing smaller tasks like correcting grammar and adding references to articles first before you embark on this task. I have added some useful information to your talk page. Reconrabbit 14:45, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tres Marias cottontail, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Type locality.

Neea River

[edit]

Hey,

I saw you moved my page to drafts due to the sources. I have since changed the sources and moved it back to an article in Neea River (singer). However, now the main page (Neea River) has been asked for deletion by another user. And now, I cannot put in Neea River as the title, because the other one still exists.

Default alt text

[edit]

For info: I am asking at http://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Project_chat#How_to_add_alt_text_to_a_photo? how to do default alt text as I sometimes use the same pic or graphic in several articles Chidgk1 (talk) 14:56, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I did not know you can add alt text as a default. That may be helpful for the future, but usually the articles I edit do not re-use images. Alt-text can be defined easily in the article anyway with
|alt=
It is a good accessibility option but only strictly required for FA-class articles regardless. I wish I knew about data/commons integration to help here. Reconrabbit 15:03, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Meeting science

[edit]

Hey, just wanted to know what sections are you referring to in the Meeting science article? Some sections needed sources in the past and I added them carefully. Lasourisrose (talk) 20:35, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, can you tell me what parts of the article have a wrong tone in order to correct it? Thank you. Lasourisrose (talk) 11:59, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, my apologies for not responding to the first question, since the template was incorrect on my end. The way it is written is unusual when compared to other articles. Put simply, it is more of a personal reflection or an exercise in promoting the field and study of meeting science more than it is a neutral overview of the field, its history and principles. The statements like The universality of the principles and practices of meeting science facilitates its adoption beyond the corporate world. given without context seem blatantly promotional, especially since there is no reference to establish this universality. it is like this should be patently obvious to the reader that meeting science is important - which should not be the goal of an article. Reconrabbit 13:39, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Reconrabbit! Thanks for your feedback and the example, I've just deleted it. Let me know what else should be corrected in order to improve the article! All the best, Lasourisrose (talk) 10:13, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Global Privacy Control page

[edit]

Hello! You declined the submission for a global privacy control article citing that it is a topic in the do not track article. Of course, that's true, but originally there was a global privacy control article a few years ago that was merged with the do not track page due to the lack of adoption of the former. The former is widely adopted now, with even Colorado legislature enshrining it in law so I think it meets the notability requirement now. Thus, I was going to make it its own article again to improve upon it and redirect the section in do not track to the new article. I think your denial did not correctly capture that, is that not the ideal way to perform this action? Cakubilo (talk) 21:39, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Rigsbyjr (17:08, 13 February 2025)

[edit]

Hello, I started a new Wikipedia page about a topic. I was still editing it, I did not publish yet. Where do I find this page?

Thank you --Rigsbyjr (talk) 17:08, 13 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Your article is here: Draft:Mass Damping Theory. I found it in your contributions. I have some advice for you.
  1. Use inline citations to make it clear where the information in each paragraph or sentence is coming from. Otherwise, this article will be unacceptable according to the Manual of Style and relevant Wikipedia guidelines.
  2. You need some very strong references to give any credence to this theory. It will be treated as a fringe theory as it is now, since the vast majority of astrophysicists support the existence of dark matter, and the few alternative hypotheses are already noted in that article.
