I am a innocent user, but being blocked due to "Squidward vandalism from this IP range" by Curps. Can anyone help me, please?Ray 08:23, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I guess you could email Curps, but I'll message him for you.--Commander Keane 08:15, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Make sure you put your IP on this page.--Commander Keane 08:15, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your help. My IP address is 203.186.238.139, and I have sent a e-mail to Curps a few minutes ago.Ray 08:18, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK I let Curps know too. There's no need to use {{helpme}}, hopefully the probelm will be sorted out soon.--Commander Keane 08:21, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Really thanks!! I hope I can contribute again as soon as possible. :) Ray 08:23, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We had massive "Squidward" vandalism yesterday. All of it took place within a ten-minute span, however the same vandal struck three times earlier the previous day.

The vandal used a few hundred IPs, mostly open proxies all over the world, but a significant number of the IPs used came from the IP range 203.186.238.128/25 (from 203.186.238.128 to 203.186.238.255). The vandal made about a thousand edits in all, although most of these came from open proxies and it seems that each address in 203.186.238.128/25 was used only once:

Click on "contribs" above and you'll see what happened.

Can you please contact your ISP and ask them to look into this, and identify the person responsible? Does your ISP use open proxies?

I don't think we can afford to unblock this range yet... it's very important for your ISP to take a look and find a way to prevent this from happening again. If they use open proxies, then this is a serious problem.

I will contact User:David Gerard, perhaps he could get in touch with your ISP and try to resolve the situation. -- Curps 08:40, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, man, I know very little about how does an ISP work and proxies. Also, it is quite ridiculous for a small user like me to urge my ISP to investigate who do this and that in my region... I understand it is impossible for you to unblock the IPs at this moment, but can you tell me how long I have to wait, or I have to wait until this vandal is forgotten? :( Ray 08:51, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've contacted User:David Gerard (perhaps you can e-mail him), asking him to look into it and make the decision on when to unblock. See User_talk:David_Gerard#Yesterday.27s_massive_Squidward_vandalism_and_203.186.238.128.2F25_range_block. -- Curps 09:08, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I hope the problem can be solved soon. Ray 10:49, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can anyone tell me the progress now? Although Mr David is notified on his user talk page, it seems that there is nobody looking into the matter, no replies on that topic at all. Is my case ignored? I have been banned for 3 days now, a bit disappointed. :( Ray Leung 16:24, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What did your ISP say about the IP range that was vandalising?--Commander Keane 16:47, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
After discussion with DavidGerard I have unblocked 203.186.238.139. So you should be able to edit now. It would still be cool if you could ask your ISP about those IP address though.--Commander Keane 22:47, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Uh, .139 was never individually blocked (see list above); rather, it's blocked because it's affected by the 203.186.238.128/25 range block. So he still can't edit. I've reset the range block to expire 40 hours from now, I wouldn't object to it being removed sooner if someone got in touch with the ISP. -- Curps 22:57, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Crap. My mistake. Thanks curps.--Commander Keane 23:00, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks all. I am able to edit right now. (Just add more to the article amine. ^___^) Ray Leung 19:09, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Steam_Distillation.JPG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Steam_Distillation.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:25, 7 June 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Lokal_Profil 17:25, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Try the new translation tool

[edit]

Hello, I see that you're a translator. A new translation tool has been implemented and is ready for usage. Could you please try it by translating any page with Internet Explorer, and then report here on bugzilla if you find something wrong? We don't have many Internet Explorer testers, so your help would be very valuable. I also think that you'll enjoy translating with this tool. Thank you very much, Nemo 09:11, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
